Sean and Max aren't small guys. They just keep themselves bone skinny. They put 8lbs to 10lbs of solid muscles on those 5'11"+ height/frame and they look jacked as Leon, Usman and others. And they actually have champ-level, elite stand-up skills.
Neither Sean nor Max is known for his ground game, so if Ilia resorts to mostly a wrestling & BJJ approach, the pure strikers might struggle; but on their feet, they piece Ilia up. Those giant swings of Ilia's are easily countered by precision strikers like Max and Sean.
He's also 3-4 inches shorter, so those swings are going to be even more over-stretching his frame, even more suitable for guys with very long legs like Sean & Max to kick him or punc him, with repeated, accurate 90% power punches from many feet back.
At their level of fighting, at their technical skills --- plus speed and agility ---- don't underestimate Max and Sean's ability to turn Ilia or anyone's lights out, if they caress them hard on the chin.
Ilia's lights almost went out, when Jai Herbert awkwardly timed his low approach to Jai's hips. Jai is NOT anywhere near the level of technical kicking or striking that Sean and Max are... nor near their elite level fighting experience...
Tom Aspinalls downfall will be in 2032 when he’s the goat like Jon is now but he actually fights his nightmare opponent when he’s old and almost out the door because “he’s a great fighter I’d love the opportunity to fight him unlike Jon jones did for me”.
His politeness and respect will be his ultimate downfall. what a guy

Same with Floyd - now hes retired, people are slowly forgetting the ducking and diving because he ended undefeated and beat all the champions on paper, regardless of the context. Ultimately for Jon, its the end of his career so its understandable in future why he didn't give Tom a shot. Then everyone will just see his pretty much flawless record spanning multiple champions. The best you're gonna have is the Reyes fight (which he still got so it wont matter in future really - 'the guy who nearly beat Jon Jones'). Thats what he will be thinkin

I don’t know that I entirely understand the Leon hate. His fights aren’t always the most exciting but he seems like an overall good guy and his striking is super good and he’s a sniper.

The glazing of Sean O’Malley is crazy. He’s a better fighter than people think, but I see him struggling to get past Merab and Cory, let alone the power of Topuria. Topuria will likely finish with a stronger career, I see him beating Holloway High Diff and Volk again Low - Mid Diff. Sean is good, but he won’t have the power to get it done.
Volk is def gonna be a tougher challenge for Topuria than Holloway

O’malley is an easier fight for ilia than most of the featherweights in title contention.

I agree with your Dricus take I feel like people are to blinded by there hate for Izzy to see the obvious lol. To me Izzy Sean and Dricus are rock paper scissors. Sean can beat Izzy because he’s a super defensively sound point fighter who can win a decision and doesn’t over extend on his punches so he isn’t likely to walk into a counter. Dricus can beat Sean because he’s got a granite chin and doesn’t have to respect Sean’s power so he can back him up the whole fight and shut off Sean’s pressure fighting style. Dricus can also mix in the takedowns to break up Sean’s rhythm and pressure if Sean does start to back him up. Izzy is the best counter striker in the history of the ufc and I just see him knocking Dricus out with one of those lean back hooks he used against Whittaker as Dricus is blitzing in swinging wild with his eyes closed like a lunatic.

I've always said they should count a fighter's amateur MMA fights in their fight resume record. Shavkat is 18-0, but overall he's 29-2. He lost twice to the same Russian guy Gadzhimurad Khiramagomedov, last time in 2015. This guy is shown as 13-6, but again, count the amateur fights: 26-6. The amateur fights are in sanctioned promotions and the fighter still risked skin, injury, body wear, chin; etc. So it's stupid that the amateur records are not acknowledged.
