Ugh. I miss this era of women’s tennis.. The Belgians (Clijsters and Henin), The Americans (Serena, Venus, Davenport), The French (Pierce and Mauresmo), and The Russians (Sharapova, Dementieva, Kuznetsova, Petrova, Chakvetadze).
All of them are good to Legendary players.

Hmm. Kim is physically superior and can move very well. It's her mental game that is the culprit in her early career. She does go deep in most tourneys but when faced with equally strong players, she sometimes crumbled. Thus, her GS trophies were won later on in her career when she reaches maturity and I guess gained a lot of experiences. Also during her time, it was so loaded with many great to legendary players (Hingis, Pierce, Davenport, Henin, Williams Sisters, Sharapova, Mauresmo, to name a few). Peak Kim and Post 1st childbirth can crush many top tenners today. :)

2 main reasons, first her mentally. Clijsters was notorious for being mentally fragile, and can somehow lost a match she all but won, or made it harder like this one. Second, the high competition with the Williams, Henin, Capriati, Mauresmo, Sharapova, Davenport, Demetiava.
