Great topic! 0:36 "Employee engagement it's the emotional commitment and employee has to their work their team's goals and their company's mission." Art uses technique to produce an emotional response. What emotions can we go after? Employees need to be instilled with community, structure, meaning, purpose, recognition, engagement, pride, tradition and ritual to satisfy the customer. Soldiers often fondly remember boot camp. Shared struggle and hardship turn into community and pride. Managers should show up and pitch in, in a crunch. That’s leadership. Nobody is going to criticize you for bloody knuckles and dirt and sweat stains on your clean, white dress shirt. Emphasize team. That’s community. Acknowledgement of achievement induces pride. Providing customers with high quality and low prices. That’s purpose (and job advancement and security). Threats of punishment are the stock in trade of lazy managers. It will induce an emotional response (despair and quiet quitting, the opposite of engagement). Every actor you’ve ever watched used technique to produce an emotional response. What’s your technique?
