Same. I know movie/show-tie-in games usually have a reputation of being trash (which i understand completely why lmao) but there's so much wasted potential.
Game of Thrones, Hunger Games, Predator, The Thing, etc. The stories that could be told and played in those universes are nearly endless. That's why i love games like Terminator Resistance, they go in depth to tell an original story set in the future war without altering the movies or the established lore.

I wish everybody could feel what that composer feels at the end of the video. She got to hear out loud finally what she’d been hearing in her head for who knows how long. The music is so important in avatar and so glad they got the right person for it.

I'm a month late to write this, but it's only because I've taken time to reflect on the game these last few weeks, and I want to say how impressed I am with Pinar Toprak's score. I previously didn't know anything about her, and as a big fan of the late James Horner, I'm so enamored with how well she blends the mythical and literary qualities of his original orchestral score from the 2009 film with the contemporary elements that Simon Franglen introduced in the 2022 sequel.
In many ways, I'm more impressed with this game's score than I was with the music from The Way of Water, because it not only aligns with the situations in the game, but also does it without feeling too derivative of Horner. The score does not take a back seat to the action, but steps up and actively shares the stage with the characters. When you hear it, you know this music belongs in this franchise, but it does not feel like Toprak was just copying Horner, as was the case with a few scenes in the sequel film. Her music takes what Horner started and doesn't just carry it forward, but also moves it in some wonderful new directions.
Somebody please pull Jim Cameron aside and tell him that this lady should really be considered to score a future Avatar film. 💙
I was so skeptical about this game for the simple fact that I would ask the question “how the heck can they pull off an open world game set on Pandora?”. The moment I started playing and entered the jungles of Pandora this instantly became my favourite game! They have nailed it! I’m not really a big gamer, and I adore open world games and some games I’ve tried recently haven’t scratched my itch, but this game is it for me. 💙💙💙 thank you for putting love and passion into this world and giving us something that adds to the AVATAR universe 💙💙💙
I cannot give a better comment here other than.. Pinar Toprak has captured the full feel of Avatar in every single way.. surpassed that of the compositions in Avatar - the way of water' sequel movie even. Music is every much a part of a game or movie as dialogue, or sound effects.. completely sets the mood/theme, and Pinar did not disappoint at all with the simply wonderful soundtrack for this stunningly beautiful game.

Pinar Toprak is one of the finest composers of her generation. In this age of upcoming AI tech and the overabundance of synthetic sounds all over the musical world, it's very important to have composers like Pinar who carry the torch of acoustic playing and orchestral ensemble.

I've already pre-ordered the $109.99 Gold Edition version for this game, and cannot wait to finally be able to play it. I've also recently read that the game and upcoming movie have shared content and technology to make them even more similar.
@@DavidMartinec00 I was going to order the Ultimate Edition, but it only looked like it was adding some extra skins for the dollar difference, and just didn't seem worth it for that. We are now just a week away... assuming it releases as planned, but Ubisoft is usually pretty reliable with their release dates.

The music is beautiful, yet it felt like it artificially induced emotions for me. So, I turned it off and now my feelings are naturally a response to the game's events. If I'm being hunted by Thanators, I don't need the music to know the situation is tense.

The music sounds good. But honestly a bit disappointed. She keeps talking about creating something new which is fine. But avatar already has some of the most iconic notes in a theme.
And I havnt heard those notes once in any trailer. And if that theme isn’t anywhere in the game that’s just sad
