Pressing in the new seal is the easy part indeed, this must be a fresh water motor. The challenge comes trying to remove the three lower seal housing screws without breaking them off!. I'm impressed that you had the OMC seal installer as well. Good job trimming off that pesky upper water tube grommet, but I would have like to seen you using grease/gasket sealer on the threads of those bolts.
There are two versions of this lower seal housing. Later models had two seals in that housing. The large diameter seal for the powerhead, and the smaller diameter seal to seal the crank/driveshaft splines. This later design replaced the earlier driveshaft design with the oring and groove. Unfortunately, many folks get these parts mixed up, resulting in damaged seals, and rusted crank/driveshaft splines. In all my years of working on these engines, back when they were new, I only saw two lower seal failures, probably due to misinstallation.
There are many self proclaimed "experts" on the internet who give out bad information, so I'm not sure I would trust many of the "how to" videos even on youtube. Always best to have the proper OMC service manual when perfoming important operations like this. I suppose there are good arguments for installing that lower seal either way, but having that seal retention spring inside the powerhead where it won't rust away makes the most sense.

This is an excellent response and I appreciate your expertise! If someone watching has issues with their seals and decide to tackle the project, they shouldn't be afraid to dive in even without a service manual. Hopefully the know Im not an expert. Maybe ill preface that in the future when doing how to videos!! Thanks again!
