king of the mountain title was made for the king of the mountain match. it was a multi man reverse ladder match, as in you climb up and hang the belt to win. also guys could be pinned or submitted and sent to a penalty box for a set amount of time. it was uniquely TNA, for sure. I know they've been successful, but I think very few of these guys are necessarily "better off" without WWE. More successful AFTER WWE? Perhaps. But not better off without the world's largest wrestling promotion.
Considering the ceilings some of these guys hit in WWE, they're better off. Maybe not money-wise, but I think they're the type of guys who can build their own brands and thrive in the indies. Plus WWE wasn't too great for the indie style up until recently, so a lot of these guys are a better fit in Japan and elsewhere.

Even financially, yeah they might not get the exact salary, but if you're a guy like a Drew Galloway and you go to TNA, you're working 60 dates a year making $300,000-$400,000. Then you take outside booking, not sure what Galloways fee is but you'd assume it's $2,000 or there abouts seeing as guys like Matt Hardy and Ryback charge upwards of $3,000. So all in all, you can make really big money just working the Indie circuit and working a company like TNA, ROH or Lucha Underground. Not to mention your merchandise sales also. The WWE is great but it's not the be all and end all or wrestling. It will help give you a name in the industry, but plenty of guys have gone there for a cup of coffee, or not at all and been financially successful on the Indies.

I believe but I could be wrong the king of the mountain title was previous the tna tv title. It was also tna global title before that and was first introduced has the Legend title. Which the title never really change looked just name plate. It was retired last year and the new tna grand championship was introduced to replaced it.

Aug 5th 2021 Galloway, lashley, jeff hardy and mundo are back with wwe. Ivillese is still working the indies. Ec3 got canned by wwe and is with ROH. Kenny, cody, beretta and matt hardy are with AEW. Ryback is still out of the business.

I know they've been successful, but I think very few of these guys are necessarily "better off" without WWE. More successful AFTER WWE? Perhaps. But not better off without the world's largest wrestling promotion.
Considering the ceilings some of these guys hit in WWE, they're better off. Maybe not money-wise, but I think they're the type of guys who can build their own brands and thrive in the indies. Plus WWE wasn't too great for the indie style up until recently, so a lot of these guys are a better fit in Japan and elsewhere.
actually there are many wrestlers who are fucking happy without working for the wwe so to say their career isnt nothing without the wwe is an insult to all wrestlers who wrestle their asses off 365
plus those who arent with wwe are more connected to the business side of things and socialize with fans more
Dylan Lange Davey Boy Smith and Lance Archer is wayyyyyy better off outside WWE. The same can be said with Kazarian and The fallen angel. Both who were in wwe
Even financially, yeah they might not get the exact salary, but if you're a guy like a Drew Galloway and you go to TNA, you're working 60 dates a year making $300,000-$400,000. Then you take outside booking, not sure what Galloways fee is but you'd assume it's $2,000 or there abouts seeing as guys like Matt Hardy and Ryback charge upwards of $3,000. So all in all, you can make really big money just working the Indie circuit and working a company like TNA, ROH or Lucha Underground. Not to mention your merchandise sales also.
The WWE is great but it's not the be all and end all or wrestling. It will help give you a name in the industry, but plenty of guys have gone there for a cup of coffee, or not at all and been financially successful on the Indies.
