I managed to pick up 2nd hand one a couple of days ago for my a7c. As a newbie to full frame and actually trying to take better photos I think it's great so far. I have no prior experience with truly great lenses but am soaking in as much info as I can.
I really enjoyed seeing your real-world photos, thanks very much for this informative (and entertaining) review. I think I’m going to get this lens as it’s still $500 and I want to see what it can do!
Just bought this for my Sony a7III from BestBuy @ $50 off for $499 and got a Hoya circular polarizer for it as well. Can't wait to use it.
Nice job neighbor. I ordered this lens today. Appreciated the shot of Salisbury Mills
Just ordered one for my A7C!
I impulse bought this one and it has found a home on my a6500- a really great lightweight combo!
It's a very nice crisp range packing lens Chryseas and Happy New Year :)
The noisy focus ring and noisy stiff zoom rings would probably not be a problem when shooting photos, but I think they would be a problem when shooting video, especially if you are using the built-in microphones, or an on camera microphone.
Nice video!! I use the same set up. Tamron 70-300 with my Sony A7C.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks!
You're very welcome and thank you George!
Just to double check, this will work with aps-c as awesome as it does with full frame right.
As always, thanyou for making awesome videos jay.
It will actually perform better on APS-C cameras, because the corner sharpness is not the greatest on this lens when using on a full frame camera. The APS-C cameras would crop out the corners and give sharper results in the new cropped corner areas.
@@Jason_Hermann great.👍
Do we need lens collar for long run video..
Hello! Do you think it can do a sweeping effect with racing cars? with the camera in hand, with the new 6700, so I don't spend so much with the Sony 70-350 lens, what do you think?
thank you!
Yeah this lens will work for that, just might not have the same hit rate is all, but totally usable for what you are describing...
Worth buying at £300 GBP? For the a7c?
Would this lens be compatible with the Sony ZV E-10 please? I enquired with someone selling a Tamron SP 70 - 300 mm f4 - 5.6 (A005) Canon EF Zoom. He said this lens is not compatible to my Sony ZV E10. I understand I should use an adapter but even with the adapter is there other specifications I should look for when buying this lens? For eg I realize now not all Tamron 70 - 300mm would suit my camera, even with an adapter. I need to look further if it is made for Nikon or Canon, etc. Is this correct?
I would not get that lens for the ZV-E10... Yes you could adapt it to the ZV-E10, but it will not work good with the adapter compared to a native E-Mount lens... Check out this video: czcams.com/video/cDWUNhv300Q/video.html
@@Jason_Hermann Thank you so much. M going to click on your link now to watch the video
@@Jason_Hermann I have watched that video. It is superb. I left a comment too. Love it. Thanks for making it. And thanks for your advice here.
Thoughts on the Tamron 18-400?
I have not used it John, but if it's anything like this lens its really good for the money.
This is a parfocal lens?
It's pretty close to Parfocal, but no it's not 100%...
@@Jason_Hermann Thanks
These pictures are really not sharp at all. Is it the CZcams effect? Or they are really as unimpressive in their original version?
