Dell Curry - 14 Fourth Quarter Points in Final Game of Career

- May 2, 2002 - The veteran savvy of 16-year vet Dell Curry began to shine through late in Game 5 of Toronto's first round series against the Detroit Pistons. Having scored just three points through the first three quarters of battle, Dell used a series of crafty pump fakes and quick releases en route to scoring 14 fourth quarter points to keep No. 7 seed Toronto's upset hopes alive. Alas, the Raptors would fall by three, but Curry left his mark.

thank u dell for steph
Angel Varela Faroppa shut up
YR Gaming damn u don’t gotta put a capital letter at the start of each word
gay
He has such a quick release. The Curry sons are so fortunate to have a dad like this to teach them mechanics.
One son was more fortunate than the other
You can actually see how Steph got his shot.
+Nnamdi Obodo I cant
They both have a quick release and shoot on the way up
Quick release
And the number ofc
0:30 well now we know where steph got that move
LOL The time you said was exactly 30 his number is 30
Who knew years later that number with that last name would be seen again. I am proud to see the curry's play. its a honor
Who’s here cause of Drake wearing Dell Curry’s jersey in first game of NBA Finals 2019 ?
👇🏼
Hahahaha me!!!!!!!!
me too
Yessir
Say what you want Drake and his team was on point that 🌃
I am a Raptors fan, the way they disrespected this man was disgraceful in game 5 with him and his wife walking to the back.
One of the most quick, compact, efficient movements, accurate shots I have seen, was a pleasure to watch him on the Raptors even if it was at the end of his career.
Would've blew his mind if you told him then his son Steph would face the Raptors in the Finals... after beating his other son Seth in the WCF.
and one of the biggest artists in the world will be sitting courtside wearing his jersey.
I was a Hornets fan growing up in the 90s and Curry was my favorite player.
Not LJ or Alonzo huh?
@@peterwong594 LJ, alonzo, bouges, you name it. and curry is one of them.
That last shot was DEFINITELY a three-pointer... Man oh man, like father, like son. Just waiting for Seth to get into his prime. Can't wait!
Steph*
+John Hanx No no, I meant Seth. Steph is already there.
I still, remember watching this game, live. Dell is a veteran shooter that not many can compare to. I wish he had one more run after this but...
If Dell played in today's NBA, shit, forget about it. This dude would be a star today. Would easily average 30 points per game. Back in this time the coaches hated the 3 point shot. It was all about centers, the post & midrange & all of that resulted in Dell Curry attempting only 4 three pointers a game whereas today the three point shot is needed and the best shooters in the league easily attempt double that (8) or in Steph's case 10-12.
Was a good 3 point shooter with the raptors and loved his shooting form quick and accurate.
That fake and shoot move...Steph does it THE SAME (like in the game winner against the mavs this season). It's in the genes.
Their pump fake is exactly the same
but steph pump fake then step back 3s
stop mentioning steph this highlight isn't about him ... its about his dad 😑
I still, remember watching this game, live. Dell is a veteran shooter that not many can compare to. I wish he had one more run after this but... That last shot was pure experience caught it off balance, set release, and with a defender running at him. Not many can hit that late in the clock. This game and perhaps the series loss I would blame on Chris Child's circus shot at the end.
Only 7 years between father's last and son's first NBA game.
Goat
If Vince Carter wasn't injured, the Raps would've beat the Pistons
The Raptors could've easily won this game at the end if it wasn't for Chris Childs' dumb ass
Jeffrey Cross No way, the Raptors would've won the series easily with VC...they took it to a deciding Game 5 without him (it was best a of 5 back then).
Jeffrey Cross it's all good...it worked out for your team as it helped them build confidence and win the title 2 years later.
Easily.
My favorite 6th man from back during the 90s! Guy could shoot as well as any who had ever done it before or after him. No surprise to me that good shooting runs DEEP in that family tree with his sons Stephen and Seth. Steph has already surpassed his old man to the point where he might eventually retire as an all-time great if his ankles allow him to.
Had to guard him soon as he checked in. Had a beautiful shot.
This comment hasn't aged well. ;-)
dude his release is just so unique. true shooter
smooth as a whistle
that shot is sweet!
Wow, Mr. Dell Curry in an Raptors Jersey?! No Way!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Dell Curry's shot is a wet as steph curry's.
gay ... u sound like an ass kisser
in that game Dell Curry was activated to play cause toronto had a lot of injuries, he was considered more like coaching staff
Show 👏👏👏👏👑👑👑👑👑🐐🐐🐐🐐
His form and seth's are nearly identical
Dell was good for Raptors vs jerry stack house pistons can't wait to see the raptors 905 ACC this Monday jerry stackhouse coach 905 and pro team Raptors double basketball
like father, like son..
OG Splash
I use to hate/love when he comes in the game because he was stuck in automatic!!!
Drake is the reason why I am here go Raptors 416
muggsy bogues amazing dunks nba 2k14
they shoot just alike
And now Toronto’s going to win a championship against dell’s son
Nah! I dont think so..
We don't know yet! Lol :) but could be. Haha, man it's a fun sport none the less
@@Tatalino511 Didn't age well. :P
im talking about game 5 in the pistons raptors series where raps won like 15 atraight to make 8th seed w/o vc. game 5 elimination game. raps need a basket about 12 or so seconds. ( this is all from memory btw so i might have the times wrong.) chris childs gets the ball dribbles past half court and heaves it with more time still remaining. is this the game my friend h4z is speaking of? i dont think so personally.
Like father like son (dell and stephen curry?
Steph Currys Father Dell Curry he was Balling for the Toranto Raptors
aaaahh this is the same game. and i am mistaken about the distance of the last shot. it was only a little outside the 3 point line. still 5 seconds left though.
hes talking about the last game of this series. where he shoots from near half with like 6 seconds left.
How many rings do Dell have?
came here for raptors vs. steph curry nba finals.
Last Game of His Career?
yep quick release
Paul Pierce reminds me of him
I like toytles
If he can do this in his Last game....
Thats what im saying. He coulda played two more years shooting like that. Damn. I forgot all about this shit. I remember sitting there thinkikng bout his Charlotte Days like man I miss him.
He was 37 at this time. He could have played longer if he wanted...maybe a last go with New Orleans.
Adam Moreira What Year Did The Hornets Move From Charlotte To New Orleans Again??
Dell Curry=30
Steph Curry=30
Seth Curry=30
+Kenn Codilla (DMBgaming) Eddy Curry =34
+Seth Lopez lol

Relax bro it's only an opinion lol
U wot m8
kevin dervishi no he should go to charlotte
Yhea , I think he should join kemba in Charlotte.
That doesn't make sense they already have Kemba 😂😂
Steph is just like his dad he’s just more crafty and shifty because he has to be because he’s smaller.
his jumpshots wet man ! 😋
Curry in a hurry
It’s weird how steph was on golden and his dad was on raptors
Seth's game is actually more like Dell's than Steph's...it's just not as impactful because 20 yrs later the league has advanced.
Dell is probably a little conflicted as to whom to cheer for in the Finals . His son or the franchise he ended his caree with ?
curry in a hurry
Ben wallace was there
Well on less Seth and Steph is onto the nba
i did not no he was with Toronto raptors
Dell Curry, Muggsy Bouges, Doug Christie, Charles Oakley, Tracy McGrady, and Vince Carter. Sort of like a 2k dream team lol.
Lawrence Duncan Don't forget Olajuwan. We (Toronto) had him too
Dont forget BOSHHH
+Justin M bosh wasn't on that team yet
Dell best shooter in 2k13 lol
Like father like son haha
why is every in the curry family 30? dell curry, steph curry, and seth curry all 30
I'm assuming because Dell was 30 the sons wanted to show honor and pay tribute to their father's legacy and wear 30 too. :)
Is this the game where chris childs lost his mind??
Definitely the series...not sure if it was this game.
Who 2019
Dell jumpah is more text book smoothah, look at where releases the rock, almost flawless form, Steph comes from his chest wit his jumpah, check it close..
+keith norton that's why steph has a much quicker release than dell, the release point is lower, but still nodbody can block it because if you get close enough to be able to block his shot, he gets around you like your a chair
+John Henson Your joking right?? Dell is still known to this day as having the quickest 3 point release in NBA history. I'm a Steph Curry fan like you, but it doesn't make me bias, nor blind, to facts
+John Henson Dell still has the quickest 3 point shot ever in the NBA (which is quite amazing considering his accuracy).... his son learned his quick shot from his dad, but Dell still owns the fastest 3 point release in NBA history, still faster than his son. People don't realize that it's irrelevant how fast your arm moves on the shot, because by the time Steph or Ray or Larry or Reggie cock the ball back (regardless of how fast) Dell has ALREADY RELEASED the shot due to the fact that he barely even bends his arm so when he slingshots it straight it again, the ball is already in the air before anyone is even close to releasing, so the argument for all these other fast shooters should be 'who had the fastest arm movement in cocking the shot before release'.... Since Dell never cocked it back, he is in a league of his own when it comes to fastest release of all-time behind the arc
+Paul Sokoloff Even if you google best or fastest 3 point shooter ever, you will read that Dell's release was the fastest
Who came here cause of drake😂😂😂😂
