I just got a Sport 1.5t 6MT as a daily driver (I also have an SUV which is sitting in the garage now, it’ll be for longer drives to visit family, as a backup or guest car, and if I need to haul something). My SUV gets 18 MPG, I wanted something which got at least 30 and was fun to drive. I’m seeing 32 so far (barely broken in) so I’m thrilled with it. The Civic’s manual had a little shorter clutch and throw so it was more fun, but it was just too small for me. Fortunately this car had been sitting on the lot for months so I was able to get a better price on it than my spouse got on a Civic EX six months ago (when I first saw this car).
I didn’t like the styling in pictures and I don’t usually care for black interiors, but I fell in love with this car when I saw it in person. I hope to keep it for a long time (especially because I think the manual transmission will be disappearing in the next 1-2 generations of cars).

I purchased the 1.5L Sport for the same reasons. I'm also in MD and have customers all over the state so I put on a lot of miles per year. What I gain in fuel economy with the 1.5L vs. the 2.0 is huge. There's a point where you have to look at a car as a tool instead of a toy. That said, I have no complaints. Got the 1.5T last month with 7 miles on the clock and now at over 2k miles. For a person that drives 37 miles one way to work, the base 1.5T just made more sense. Plus, the 1.5T Sport is a great value overall and performs phenomenally in all conditions so far. I had a 2013 Sport and Honda took an already excellent formula and made it better. That's probably why people have issues with these cars putting in 87 gas or cheap oil changes with low grade oil. It's kinda just self explanatory if you buy a new car dont you wanna put the best products in it. And by the way 3 to 4k for oil change is normal I've dont that for all of my cars even my old accord and prelude always every 3 to 4k this 10k on an oil change is absurd. Most people drive chaotic and heavy footed and now most cars are turbo which means you need to change it more frequently. Also have to keep in mind driving a turbo car you shouldn't jump in start it and go. Let the Rpms drop a little let it get a little warm especially in cold climates. Non of this is new its things that Honda advises and in actcually how you should always treat your car. Dont floor it drive aggressively and then just shut the car off that's not good for the turbo. I suggest if you buy a car you should probably learn how the car is intended to be treated the average person just thinks start go stop lol

It has the Honda smart sense tech, car almost steers it self, has lane assist, brake assist, lane centering etc advanced
Airbags which Came standard, turn it on and its super quiet makes no noise.. I have an altima 2.5s and this 1.5t is quicker more reliable and more efficient even do it has a smaller engine .. I saw the 2.0t and test drove it, yes its fasters, but over all if a fast sedan is what I was looking for well I wouldn't be buying a Honda Accord.. I got the 2.0 back in March of this year of course. I traded the 2016 Ex-T. That was the plan until the new accord came out. With the 1.5 I felt the engine was a little small and under powered for the car size plus it has the CVT. I didn’t want another CVT to drive as a daily driver it wasn’t fun but ok. The 2.0 sport has the features that the civic Ex T had and more so getting an 1.5 sport I would of been bored with it. I also liked the fact 10spd is not new of course but Honda and the accord is the only front wheel drive sedan out there that has the 10 spd others are rear wheel drive so that got my attention as well. I did get the 2.0 sport platinum white for $28,000 the Camry 2018 I was going to consider with the v6 was $37,000. That’s a big price difference for my budget.

Also, my winshield wipers make a ton of noise - not sure if anyone else experienced this? The radio is a constant disappointment and is upsetting every time I get into the car Otherwise, the car is fantastic! The interior is amazing as well as all of the electronics. The Accord sport's speakers are straight boo boo and the sports ride quality is on the firmer side of things (pretty harsh ride). Ive heard aftermarket 6 speaker systems comprised of no name flea market brands sound better. Honda is a great vehicle but their sound system sucks no matter if you get the top of the line trim. If you think it sounds good, then your basis on sound quality sucks im sorry to say. After hearing a bunch of current touring/elite trim hondas im confident to say they are teh same across the board. i rather take the standard sound if possible and just put an aftermarket sound system.

If he does a lot of driving on highway/freeway roads, the only way he gets the advertised 47 mpg highway is if he goes 65MPH and below and hope the road is completely flat or going downhill. Who drives 65mph and below for long distances????? and combine that with elevation changes, it actually gets worse gas mileage on the highway compared to standard 1.5T gas engine. EVERYONE does not realize this. city driving sure hybrid wins, but again if majority of driving is highway/freeway long drives, the hybrid really isnt best bet.

@@goinoutlikegeez I love my Accord, the handling is pretty crazy for a bigger sedan. It out handles my old school 98 Acura Integra with mods. The power is not there like the 2.0, but when you do need it on the highway or straight its does pull. I took it to the mountains and it had no problem on sport mode to keep climbing. Took it out on Highway 1 in the Bay area and it took these sharp S curves like a champ, the brakes are solid.

Thanks for the prayers sent this way. I am in raleigh but I have family down near the coast. They are fairing well so far. I do not personally own this vehicle yet, but I plan on buying in the spring. I think I will go for the 2.0 because I plan on driving this vehicle for the next 10+ years. What are your thoughts?

Glad y'all are staying safe! From a reliability standpoint, long term this car seems great(1.5L or 2.0). Very few issues reported. It's a Honda, so you can't really go wrong. I plan keeping my car for a long time, but also getting another car too.

Personally went for the 2.0 for two reasons. Was coming out of 2015 tlx v6 and felt the power drop off would be to big. Second, was able to get manual. Pros: tech is very good, genuinely sporty, looks great, hugh inside - - cons: road noise, little but on stiff side. Overall like but do miss the v6 and some of the premium car goodies

Spot on pros and cons. And I work at a Honda dealership. I wouldn't pay over 23k for the 1.5t and 26-27 for the 2.0t sport. As for the touring I wouldn't pay over 32k. Just my honest opinion.

I came from the 7th Gen v6 Accord to the 9th gen Sport trim (2.4L NA CVT). It wasn't as huge of a drop off as one would think. But I am looking for a 10th gen 2.0t currently, so yes I miss the pickup of the v6. But the MPG on the 9th gen is pretty dang good.

My 2018 Accord sport 1.5t recently had a carbon build up issue. It has 20k miles. Regular oil changes at Honda. They had to replace the fuel injectors and do a full clean. Has anyone experienced this with the 1.5t?

Stop using low tier gas from them no name gas stations and use only top tier gas and it won't happen as fast and as bad as you got it.. it's gonna happen cuz it's a direct injection fuel system and they're notorious for carbon build up

How has your car been running since you’ve fixed it? I’m currently at 40k miles and have a misfire in cylinder 4. Changed spark plugs and nothing. Car idles a lot and stalls. Been doing research and this is so common but doesn’t have a recall !! LMK what your experience is !
