    I was praying mentally... And I can't have children (because of a disease) ... So i mentally said : "God, please give me the bless to have a daughter, because i want to feel to her, the same love god has to me"...
    Just in the SAME instant i finished this pray, i felt like a dagger penetrating my heart, and I felt a LOVE that I can't describe with words... Its SURREAL... And at the same time I started to cry like a child (sobbing)...
    Look, Im a VERY sceptic person, Im an engineer... So I need to be convinced by "reason"... What I felt HAS NO EXPLANATION... God LOVE US TOOO MUCH!!
    I kept feelling that burning in my heart (the place the dagger hit) for about one week... And I DIDN'T want that sensation finish... But it finished....
    On that month, if I tell this story, I would cry ... I could not hold tears... Now, it passed 2 years and i can tell the story without crying...
    Believe, GOD LOVE IS UNBELIVEABLE!!
    Pray the Rosary, GO TO CONFESSION! Make WHATEAVER needed to be a better Christian (to be saint)... Constantly PRAYING, this is the only way to win this battle.

    Something else that kind of hit me the other day was that when the Sanhedrin were convening about what to do with Jesus, the one said that he had a vision of a man dying for the people of Israel. And it just kind if hit me that even then, to the very last moment, God was trying to get them to come back to Him. For centuries He warned them, sent dozens of prophets begging them to turn back from their wickedness so that He didn't have to punish them, and they killed nearly every single one. But, knowing they won't turn back, sends Himself to die to atone for their sins, begging them to turn back all the while. And as they conspire to kill Him, He sends one final warning. But even then they don't listen, so He sacrifices Himself for them and rather than be angry or even having them be killed, He forgives them for it all in His last moments.

      I understand. It is hard in the times when God not only seems silent, but might actually BE silent. I recently read the quote of a saint that in times like those, do not panic. Go to the Church services, whether Mass and Liturgy, take part with all your heart, and slowly, His presence will come back to you. He is always Present, but your sense of that Presence will return. Then I recommend two things, first, stay before Him in silence as well. Someone below recommended Eucharistic Adoration, that is the best of course, but if you can't, even in your own room, as Jesus said that we are to go, shut the door, pray to the Father, and He will reward you. Just BE with Him. People don't always talk to each other either. Secondly, ask Him to speak with you in a way that you recognize His Voice. He may be speaking and we might be missing it. Yes- it isn't VERBAL, but wouldn't that freak us out?! For me personally, since I relate to what you wrote, Ps 31:3 "Lead me and guide me." That really resonated with me the other day. I can't know the right way on my own! God bless you!!!

    When I read the Bible, I see it through these bad lenses where it just makes me feel more and more unworthy and rejected, so I stopped reading it except at Mass, and sometimes the rosary, and instead I tried to listen to talks by people who have a better instinct at how to interpret the Bible than I do, and have better trust and hope. Watching The Chosen helped me a lot with that. I don't like that I don't have this Catholic habit of reading scripture, but I really do because I just absorb little bits as much as I can without twisting it into something oppressive, and I memorize them and think about them all day and try to let the good stuff get into my heart.

      @@davidkupiec You might want to start reading up on a condition called scrupulosity. It is one of the most painful psychological states there is. It can feel like hell to the sufferer.
      Scrupulosity is an age-old problem that the OCD Foundation describes as “a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) involving religious or moral obsessions. Scrupulous individuals are overly concerned that something they thought or something they did might be a sin or other violation of religious or moral doctrine.” It’s like being a moral hypochondriac. In Catholics, this problem manifests itself in people who are always going to confession obsessibly. They have irrational fears that, somehow, one’s confession wasn’t really valid, or the sacrament didn’t quite count because of some imagined technicality. People with Scrupulosity/OCD worry excessively about sinning - whether by having “bad thoughts” or other human imperfections - and they have to struggle to accept God’s forgiveness. They fear that God is angry with them, and often try to make up for things with perfect devotional practices. Instead of trusting in the mercy of God, scrupulosity-sufferers live with an awful anxiety. When you’re in the bondage of a scrupulous mind set, nothing you do will ever be enough to bring lasting peace.

    Our image of God is impacted by how our parents or primary caregivers treat us. If the father and mother behaved lovingly, then the child is very likely to see God as a loving Father. If the child is born into a dysfunctional family, it is very hard to then believe that God is loving, patient, gentle and kind since the image of Him is distorted by the childhood experience. Inner healing of childhood trauma is necessary to correct the distorted understanding of God. I don’t think it’s that easy to just read scripture and that will just change the distorted beliefs but it’s through a conversion experience &/or good quality psychotherapy that helps break free the mind and heart.

    As I read scripture I see how much slack God lets people have and how many chances he gives. The few times I see God truly unveil his justice on men is when they have been doing so much pure evil that he has no other option but to reset people and go back to basics time and time again. This usually is reserved for those who have little to no remorse for their actions and who Hod knows the hearts of. Otherwise God has always been very forgiving and loving. We truly don’t understand nor can we comprehend in this world. While we are all sinners there are those like Saint Paul who couldn’t be more an example to us all that God can forgive any who seek his forgiveness. Paul is known as the father of sinners for a reason and it’s the most uplifting title someone could bear knowing he’s a saint in heaven next to Jesus himself. A man who reviled, murdered, tortured, and abused could become a founder of the the church and evangelism, and change his life 180.

    The closer I get to Catholicism, the more I think God *is * the disappointed judge getting ready to throw the book at me instead of the loving Father, ready to run to me when I come to him. I find the Catholic church to be forbidding, presenting me a Savior who won't necessarily save all who come to him. I mean, if we can out-sin the perfect salvation of Christ, we will. I need the infinite perfect mercy of the Lamb of God. How in the world does the Catholic reconcile the views of the good loving Jesus in this video with the "you're not doing enough works to accomplish your own salvation" taught in the church?

    • @heavykyio
      @heavykyio Před 28 dny +3

      Because is not about works, it's about choice, and ultimately, by sinning, we are choosing to abandon God, and God in his infinite love, respects our decision, he is always willing to forgive, but he can't forgive someone who never asks for forgiveness nor wants it.

    • @AndrewKendall71
      @AndrewKendall71 Před 28 dny

      @@heavykyio But you're talking about salvation. And, all sin is willful according to Catholics. And not all sin is a sin of rejection of Christ and God's way. It's weakness of the flesh, described by Paul as not being strong enough to do what he knew to do. So, did St. Paul go in and out of faith and in and out of salvation? Or was he always saved, but needing routine reminders of the truth of Christ's absolution and of the perfection of God's mercy toward him in Christ? One of those is biblical, the other may be motivational (fear of falling away from God), but it's not consistent with "it is finished" grace. And Catholics argue that the Protestant view of salvation is limited because we see it as merely legal, but not fully spiritual. Number one, not true, but two, as new creations, does our choice un-make us new creations with the old passed away and the new come?

    • @Calder90
      @Calder90 Před 28 dny +1

      @@AndrewKendall71 Your two questions seem to both be getting at a truism in the Catholic Church. For a lot of protestants, theological matters are "either/or", but in Catholicism, many of these are "both/and."
      For example, "Faith vs works" is a false dilemma, the Catholic Church doesn't make such a distinction. But we see from Jesus' words in the parable of the sheep and the goats that our actions DO matter, and our salvation DOES impinge on how we treat others. But it's not that we "earn" it, or that there's a minimum number of "works" that one must do. Rather, Jesus is showing us how we are to live and grow to be more like him, to be sanctified.
      St Paul said we must persevere to the end, we must run the race. And so salvation is both a one-time event but also something we get to participate in. Many protestants see salvation as a sort of binary, you either are or aren't. The Catholic would say, "I am saved, I'm being saved, and I hope to be saved." We are new creations but the old sin nature, which we call concupiscence, remains. As St Paul says, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. We aren't instantly made holy, but rather Jesus invites us to cooperate with his grace and to grow in holiness with his aid. He makes us players in our own salvation story, not because salvation wasn't finished at Calvary, but because it pleases him to help us grow, like a father raising children, a gardener tending his garden, a potter forming clay.

    I admit that I do see God the Almighty Father as being harsh. Probably influenced by the Old Testament. Whenever I’m seeking mercy, I often turn to the Blessed Virgin Mary because in my mind she’s the compassionate mother who advocates for her children and asks God the Father for leniency. Jesus also, I turn to for mercy remembering the words of St. Faustina about his divine mercy. But yeah, I will admit to seeing God the Almighty for his justice rather than his mercy, and there are days I do forget he loves me. This may also stem from my own childhood when my father had a quick hand and it was often my mother who protected me and asked for leniency on my behalf.

      @@davidkupiec Scrupulosity can certainly be emboldened by bad theology which emphasizes a wrathful God. Such a theology became very prevalent in the Church, starting in the 17th century, and continuing for over 200 years. It is called Jansenism, named for the French bishop, Cornelius Jansenius, who originated and promulgated it in the Church. Like 16th century Protestant Calvinism, 17th century Jansenism preached a religion of fear and anguish. Priests and bishops with the Jansenist mentality were obsessed with “sins of the flesh.” They preached a distorted Christianity that presented God as severe, cold, and distant. Jesus was presented only as a harsh and condemning judge, not as a merciful Savior and Good Shepherd. The truth of God’s love proclaimed by Jesus in his teaching and deeds and his ultimate sacrifice for all people was overshadowed by this heresy. And this heresy received a great deal of acceptance throughout the Church for more than 200 years in spite of the efforts of several popes who condemned it as false teaching. The Jansenists taught that all infants dying without baptism were condemned to hell. Pope Pius VI, however, condemned that teaching in 1794. But the most far-reaching part of the Jansenist heresy was its teaching on the Eucharist. Jansenism held that it was only the purest of souls, free of all taint of sin, that could approach Communion without the fear of committing a sacrilege. Jansenistic piety was excessively rigid and moralistic. It held that the possibility of committing a mortal sin was an ever present and constant danger. It deeply affected spirituality in the Church, and traces of it can sometimes be seen to this day. These beliefs gave rise to excessive introspection that was the breeding ground of scrupulosity. Jansenism tainted the pulpit and Catholic teaching, which, in turn, infected the faithful. Instances of this kind of preaching and teaching can still be found today.

    But you don't see the other part. God loves but what does that mean? God is love love is the only thing he does so how could you possibly reject that?
    Maybe because love is painful. What God wants most in his heart it's not may "salvation" my "peace". The biggest gift to a rational creature is happiness. That's the point. How do I make rational creatures happy? Giving them the possibility of loving. That is the creation propose. God is happy because he loves so he wanted other beings to feel the same happiness he feels by loving.
    But how can you want something if it doesn't cost you? How can you prove you choose something if you don't have something to sacrifice?
    That is when pain and suffering are necessary.
    God can't create happiness because he can't create love. Love only exist when despite all the contradiction of pain and suffering you still choose to seek the good of the other. And that is what makes loves valuable and miracle. That's the sanctification propose. To transform your own being into a good person, a saint, you need those opportunities those circumstances that could make possible virtue and charity.
    That's the porporse of angels test the same for Adam and Eve. And that is the history of old and new testament. God running for love looking for us humans and we rejecting him because his love hurts.
    All he does is love true but rational creatures don't want pain even if it is for a grater good. Good and evil where left behind the day pain and pleasure where introduced. And that's the point. Whiteout such contradiction how could freedom exist? How could you be able to sacrifice for someone if you don't have that chance? Well that's waht God provides. Life is a gift because it's the opportunity to feel happiness by loving. By loving through sacrifice. And that is when the creature says to god "I don't want to be happy if it's going to hurt" and God can't do nothing and let them abandon him.

    When man knows, believes and is convinced that God loves him, that God who is almighty, all powerful, all knowing yet chooses to love him in God's entirety then man knows there is no fear, no fear of evil, pain, disappointment...etc because he has been loved all that happens to him does not take away the love that God has for him. Then man becomes free, free from fear of all that what an unbeliever fears. Free from sin, since he is convinced that sin and evil cannot bring about the ultimate end of joy and peace that God intends and acquires for him.
