This is the second half to my 1999 Ford Explorer seat swap into a 2002 Ford Ranger. In this video I show how I wired the seats, and how I mounted the console. Awesome swaps brother. I have a 98 mazda B4000 and I did the upper and lower center consol mods and changed the full interior black but instead of doing oem explorer seats I did racing seats with Takata racing harnesses. Keep up the good work!

I’ve got a set of 2011 mustang GT Leather power seats that I’m putting in the 95 Ford Ranger picture to the left. I bought it brand new and 95 and I’ve been drag racing it ever since 4 L V-6. Race clutch cobra mustang T5 transmission and a built 8.8 rear custom side exit exhaust all stainless steel piping. 3 inch inlet to chamber Flowmaster with dual 2 1/2 inch outlet stainless steel 4 inch tips exiting the side passenger side that is. Instead of ceramic coated headers 2010 Mustang GT cooling fan from my Mustang lol. BBK 66 mm throttle body performance distributors V6 coil packs with 10 mm performance distributor ignition wires NGK plugs 95 mustang GT fuel injectors 340 L per hour Areomotive fuel pump Just lots and lots of mods. Really good to see the younger generation getting into the mini trucks again. I would really love to see the mini truck scene come back

Really nice video just picked up a 2002 Ranger XLT also maybe thinking about doing this next year definitely would like to see all the things you have done to your truck. And may I ask what kind of rims and tires are you running they look really clean I’m thinking of upgrading my stock ones soon? And may think about getting a front bumper like your and adding a winch and led lights also. And last question does your truck have a lift on it or would you ever think about putting one on.

Id love to see an " Overhead console" mod from the explorers... im trying to get one in my ranger and there is no good videos and its and awesome mod for ranger like ours!!
Yeah dude, I am actually thinking about doing that. You have to get one from an explorer without a sunroof.

How did you mount the ranger seat belt buckle to the seat?
The buckles were already attached to the seat when I got them.

I didn't really go into that. I'm not actually 100% sure, since I don't have a regular cab. The link in the last video is the closest thing I've found to showing which seats fit. Not sure if that cover Regular cabs. Best of luck. Let me know how it works out.
Therangerstation.com has several lists of compatible seats, along with other interior items one might want to swap into a ranger. Also the attached forum will gladly help if you can’t find the info in the tech resources.
Is all this wiring needed just to make the power seat motors work? I'd love to do this swap on my 2000 ranger but idgaf about the heated seats working I just want the power seat motors to work.
No, only some are for the power seats.

Honestly, I am having a custom one made because I couldn't find any big enough that would work. LOL
Where do we get these wires I only see one black and white wire, a yellow and white, a gray and yellow, brown and yellow, and blue and white at the end of mine with the same seats
I think it depends on what options where on the truck you pulled it from.
Let me know if or when your getting a hurst shifter! They are the best for that style console I want one so bad but live in Canada and shipping and usd conversion makes it almost $700 for the kit!

Just an fyi, seat swaps in a 2010 and 2011 ranger are a lot harder because of the airbag seats. You'll have a light on in the dash and it won't pass inspection

Leather looks nice, but I agree.. cloth is more convenient and comfortable. The heat and lumbar is legit.
Im currently trying to do this wiring to my Mazda but cant figure out where your getting those wires from on the driver seat
Did you keep the connector piece from the explorer that fits into the connector on seat? Did you just cut it from that wiring harness? And those are the wires your using?
I cut the wires from the explorer to give myself the flexibility.
how much better comfort wise are the new seats ?
A pretty decent change in the comfort department.
Did you have to add extra wire at all? If so what gage?
I did not have to add any wire.

Got my seats in but sadly drivers heated part does not work well. It does not get hot just barely warm. Passenger heated seat works fine.
I would check your voltage to make sure its getting the right volts to the module. Thanks for watching.
What are those seats and center console out of? Can't stand my stock cup holder and arm rest. I drive an hour to work one way everyday.

In the decription there is a write up about which model seats fit well into your ranger. You can pretty much make any seat work with some fab skills.
I don’t know if you found a shifter boot yet for it this video is a year old I’ll have to look on your channel. But you can find actual leather shift boots on eBay with whatever color stitching you want to offset the black. Good luck with the truck it really starting to look nice

I cant stand the OEM Seats in mine, the seats are at way too big of an incline w/ no Head rest.
i have a 2008 ford ranger FX4 Extended Cab, What seats work with my setup. id like to have 6 way Dir pwr / Heat / Lumber. or at least pwr lumber and 6 way Dir Pwr seats with the least modification possible.
Yeah, the lumbar was the selling point for me to do the swap as well. The heat is super nice though. If you look in the description of the first part in the series. there is a link to a website that tells you what fits your truck. Good luck!

@@joeh690 The seats were bolt in, I really didn't have to do any modification until I forgot to grab the seat belt brackets for the explorer and because the console wasn't made for a manual (which none of them were). My truck is a 2002 and the seats were a 2000 explorer.
@@DoinitwithDoug 2002 Ford ranger fx4, XLT, sport. ?? so if I have an automatic and get one from an automatic I should have no problems or if I get one from a manual to my automatic ?
@@joeh690 Its an XLT but the submodel makes no difference on the fitment of the seats. They never made full consoles like that for manual rangers or explorer, that's why I had to modify mine so I could still shift LOL If you have an auto, you don't have to cut anything, just bolt it in.

There are a few things about those years of Ranger that make me cringe. 1. The useless 60 40 seats. 2. Lack of power seats. 3. No factory full center console. 4. The underpowered 3.0 six cylinder. 5. The stock steel wheels with chrome'ish snap in decorative exterior that cuts hands and fingers when cleaning.
I already have the buckets to replace the 60 40 junk. Am looking for a full console to complete the interior.

Hey Doug, I myself have a 2004 Ranger XLT 5 speed which I am upgrading, but anyway, I saw another video which a guy did the 40/40 conversion and said he got his shift boot from a "Redline Auto" for something like that.
