He puts emotion into his songs then again he is a funny fun person that does not take things too serious. I respect this young man. Totally talented.
I found out recently that this song was written about his aunt who took her own life, the lyrics make so much more sense once you know that. Beautiful song.

We played this at my niece's funeral this past May. She was 23 years old. It's so personal and emotional. I love his voice and lyricism.

He wrote the song after talking to his mum about his aunts suicide when he was 5 or 6. Its basically about the aftermath of suicide, hence why he could put so much emotion into the song.

Important message. It's hard to remember when we're focused on our own lives that a few moments of our time, a quick call, or a hug, can mean the world to someone.
My brothers were largely absent during my mother's cancer fight, despite them being only a couple of hours away. I got the benefit of living with her during that time, making new memories. I still kick myself for things I didn't do or say to make that time better, but I can see how much more they suffered for not coming until the last couple of days. You don't get a second chance sometimes.

Bith me and my doughter has been really sick for almost 10months with covid-19 and when she was at the hospital for 8weeks I was there with her. I was sick myself but tried to be strong for her. When she had lunch everyday I went home to walk the dogs and then drow back to her. In the car I needed to cry or scream anf to get out all my reactions so I could be strong again for her. I lissend to this song every time in the car. Its such a great song

@@kellybrocato2215 I am SO sorry for your loss! How tragic! I believe we can talk to those who have passed and communicate whatever we wish we had said. That helps me deal with it. Also, people always tell me that my loved one knew I loved her, even though I never told her when she was alive. That helps me too.
I'm convinced there's no artist who can pull your heartstrings like Lewis can.

First of all, you really can't go wrong with Lewis, he doesn't do a bad song. And I mean that literally! There are maybe 3 albums in the entire world that I can listen to all the way through without skipping at least one song, and his is one of them. With that said, there are still a few stand outs that just top the rest for me and they're "Bruises", "Don't Get Me Wrong", and "Rush" featuring Jessie Reyes. You should definitely keep checking him out, even if you don't share the reactions! You owe it to yourself! 😉

This song he actually was singing about someone specific. He's singing about his aunt who committed suicide and he's singing it from his mothers perspective since she lost her sister :( So so so sad....
I get knots in my stomach everytime I listen to this song. We have lost several people in the last couple of years, one in particular very tragically, and we have have also had a couple of high profile and very tragic suicides in our local community recently. We've also lost friends and family members to suicide in the past. Hearing it just brings up waves of grief. I love this song, but I hate it at the same time.

I meant it seems to be my Karma..it seems my thoughts of sadness cause the action of the Universe to step in to remind me I’m not alone.. In the conventional sense you are correct.. As already stated it's about his mother's sister how when he was 6 committed suicide later on when he was older he was talking to his mum about it and asked the question couldn't anyone have said something to prevent it.love and peace.

@@deanarjones9114 the answering machine - yes! i still have the final voicemail a dear friend left for me just days before his sudden, unexpected death 16 years ago... not long ago there was a great article (on BBC North America I think?) about the MANY people who continue to call & text the phone number of their deceased loved ones, just as a way of continuing to feel connected to their late beloveds. heartbreaking & beautiful.
