To me this song is about the people that take care of everyone else around them and they can't take care of themselves, they sacrifice their own wellbeing to be that shoulder to cry on for others, and suffer mentally because of it. People that are there for everyone but no one is there for them, but they never reach out or show it because that's just how they are. And some get to a point where they just can't take in anymore. But the song is sang in the point of view of the people that the person took care of, they regret not giving the same thing back and being there for them as well, but they didn't know about them struggling, so how could they have helped? Just my in depth and personally biased interpretation of this beautiful song. I have been that shoulder to cry on for so many people my whole life and have almost reached that point many times, but that's just how i am. I am either there for everyone and take in everyone else's pain while ignoring my own wellbeing, or when i try to focus on myself i become emotionally closed off and isolated, and it is an even worse feeling because i feel that i am abandoning all the people that rely on me as their support. Life is hard but at least it's short.😔

When you become that person that people need, you have to look out for yourself even more, because if you're not you, you can't be who they need, also. lost my dad in july of 2012 from suicide and this is one of the greatest songs ive ever heard of since.
The way the video is shot is beautiful if im understanding correctly this its showing her spending time with those she loved most and who she touched most in her life and it hits so much harder at the end because of it.......if you ever have thoughts of hurting yourself or taking your own life please realize your not the only one you'll be hurting and leaving behind anyone who ever loved you will be affected by your loss we are all way more interwoven then we ever realize until it's too late so please realize people care about you and it's OK to ask for help everyone needs it at some point and there's 0 shame in needing it. ❤

My daughter tried to commit suicide this week. Luckily i was able to save her. I had no idea she was hurting so much. I will never think about mental health the same again.

My best friend committed suicide last year and every time I hear this I cry myself to sleep,it still hurts like ell because I had no idea that he felt that way.
