What are you hoping to see in the future that hasn't been announced yet?
improvement's are always welcome in games, will it bring people back? well i suppose this all depends on what is updated and what most people want before they come back to the game.
for me, i'm going to continue to play FO4, i delayed the update so i have a stable game, maybe they will fix the game in the next update, because otherwise i will stay on the last version and not upgrade until they fix everything they broke.
Who actually enjoys this game and isn't paid?
Default G key with the hand scanner open pulls up surface map. R1/RB on console/controller
Wow you are a bad person... stop shilling for a bad game.
I'm so happy that development of Starfield is coming along nicely. Can't wait until the games finally out.
i'm still waiting for skyrim and fallout 4.
The old no man's sky technique
@@TheVinchenzo130 I actually hate how good of a game that turned out to be
😂🤣
Im not much of a gamer so I end up only picking up a game when they are a bargain on steam.. so all this furore is a bit funny to me.
I cannot emphasize enough how much of a fan I am of them making the difficulty and survival features completely individually optional.
i agree but its another feature that doesn’t feel fully realised, should have way more options, sleep should be one of the options and there should be multiple survival mode presets as i can imagine that menu looks very confusing to players who’ve never tried a survival mode
Oh then youll really love Wo Long! It has that
It makes perfect sense for games that pride themselves on being so moddable.
FO4's survival mode is garbage because it prevents you from saving. In my survival vanilla run i lost more play time from crashes reverting me to old saves than from actually being defeated.
@@obrgrs2547 wo long is moddable?
You can inmediately open the surface map without having to go through the galaxy map by just activating the scanner and the prompt should appear in the HUD.
This needs to be PINNED lol.
Starfield desperately needs new enemy types and way more weapons
💯 the piece it’s missing is that we don’t see the human enemies doing anything that puts them in the way of creatures or other enemies. In Fallout 4 it was the most fun to see a BOS patrol bump into a pack of Super Mutants or Raiders.
@@evtron_prime2295 The other day I stroll up to one of the larger surface POIs for a bounty that has the hangars on either end, with the “guard” tower in the center. I notice from a distance gunfire pouring out of both hangars. I run up and there are 2 of the larger creatures with the glowing ball hands and they are going HAM. So I join them and clear the few, and I do mean few remaining enemies. It was a surprise and an absolute blast. Co-op with some big bugs. Would love more of that. Catch a smile out there. o7
@@evtron_prime2295 Exactly and i miss this in many games. Some of the most memorable gaming moments for me was making monsters fight each other in classic doom or enemy factions fighting each other on halo ce. Something that halo 3 unfortunately lacked. Fallout 4 also have many of these moments and it makes the world seem more realistic and fair rather than everything vs you.
More importantly more random dungeons. You can only run through so many cryo facilities, abandoned mines, and biotech research labs before it gets old
@@wizkid915 this. Exactly this. Starfield is a really great game but it's so shallow for what it offers. 100+ planets and moons you can land on. Every single one has the exact same dungeons to explore with a few exceptions. We paid full price to be beta testers. And they have the audacity to want to implement paid mods?!?
All of this should have already been in the game at launch. It’s crazy to me that it took 8 months to add an actually useful local map.
No one cares
Consume the product. Don't ask questions.
The vehicles could have been added in a weekend if not a day.
u see... people love it to get half baked games and pay a lot of money for it.
Companys like Bethesda have no reason to change.
People are happy when they get low effort games full of lies. They dont care and gladly play it.
i know right, i was spending a couple hours to searching for these base features just to find out they somehow missed the most obvios things anyone with 2+ hours gameplay would ask for
"So I was prominently drinking bourbon to stay hydrated just like real life" caught me off guard
Made sense to me , Only way to enjoy starfield is black out drunk 😂
A step in the right direction. Maps and land vehicles.
Yes, now you can find and travel to boring copy pasted POI's faster.
The vehicle looks to be the same speed as running/jetpacking
It would be... but it really means more fast travel.
I hope there is more than just 1 vehicle and we have at least some kind of customization on it.
@@Snillomator I’m sure there will be but I’m at least thankful it’s happening rather than how many we get.
i'm really glad they didn't abandon the game. it has potential.
50 loading screens per hour
Definitely has potential but it still fails as an RPG and an Space Exploration simulator.
It’s hard to really pinpoint what it does better than it’s competitors aside from the ship building
Same! I will happily revisit this game soon.
They will 100% abandon it after the single expansion comes out. Just like they did with every game they've made.
@@goofysmp As a space exploration RPG, depending on one's preferences, Starfield barely has any competition. For me, the stealth-archery dungeon-crawling aspect of Starfield is just too good as a gaming philosophy, and other games, like No Man's Sky, completely lacks such a system of integrated stealth-archery dungeon-crawling looting/crafting gameplay. And, given how impressive the Skyrim modding community is with the Creation Kit, and how impressive the Starfield modding community already is without the Creation Kit, the potential is likely going to be truly expansive.
Playing the Beta on steam right now and its actually quite huge not just from a quality of life perspective but in terms of gameplay, my favourite feature being "sustenance" its off by default but gives you free buffs if you eat and drink, there's also a starvation option which encourages the player to eat
i changed to steam beta but don't have the update. how can i get it?
@@Voa00maybe try restarting steam or your computer? I haven’t gotten the update but I think I remember working for other games in the past
Is it on xbox
This is a feature that needs to he celebrated now? A "starving% mechanic in 2024?
@@randomhero6365 Maybe play the update first instead of talking smug? Your favorite game probably don't even have the detailed difficulty system that bethesda introduced in the newest update.
The Vehicle also means that there is no Excuse now for a future fallout game to have vehicles. also big L to the people that say vehicles were not possible in the engine
I never heard the argument vehicles not being possible in creation engine they didn’t have vehicles in fallout cause it would make the world feel smaller don’t forget Skyrim had horses cars are ironically easier to program than running player models as for flying fast in fallout (with mods) the pop in is pretty brutal when ur moving fast enough if they were to have vehicles in the next fallout they would have to decrease density and increase map size personally I would love a fallout game that plays and feels just like New Vegas
They are gonna need a massive redesign or you'll have to use loading screens in vehicle because of how their planets are broken into small "bubble" zones
Cars in a fallout game would be stupid and lazy lol.
That defeats the purpose of exploring plus the whole idea of a yanno, nuclear wasteland.
@@LoneSteezyTell that to the highwayman in fallout 2 or the Sherman tank in tactics.
@@LoneSteezyall depends on how big of a map they make and if the vehicles would also need fuel, if they ever decide to bring in fuel resource in future Fallout games.
If they're adding ship interior decoration, I hope that's a sign that they'll surprise us with the ability to make and customize space stations too. It's gotta be coming at some point.
soon...
Pre Death Star
if not it will get modded in eventually
@@samuelbliss1521 they said that for vehicles and look at us now
Cool! You mean like a spaceship - except not able to go anywhere? Wait... why do we want this again?
I’m honestly pleasantly surprised as someone who didn’t care that much for starfield. I honestly didn’t expect them to deliver. I’m gonna have to check this out
Curious as to why you thought that way.
Every recent Bethesda game always got updated and refined over time. Why would they not do that with this game?
@@juliothom2408Updated and refined over time? Look at Fallout 4’s update.
@@juliothom2408 I think people assume a lack of updates is a sign they cut and run, but I always assumed they were saving things for a big substantial update. Clearly, that was the case. It just makes sense, both from a workload and marketing perspective to wait months and drop major updates rather than fixing little things in a piecemeal way, unless they're something critical like a game breaking bug. I suspect we won't see too much after this update until Shattered Space drops, but that's honestly fine. I want them to take their time with fixing this game.
Keep drinking the kool aid guys 👋
I literally JUST started playing starfield again!
enjoy being over encumbered load screens
A glutton for punishment aye? 😂
76 has received a lot of new and old players, the time for miracles is not over. and starfield compared to 76 was not broken ... so the foundation for something big is at least solid. I'm not saying that Starfield is perfect or even for everyone, but I like it, great video!
Well said.
battered wife syndrome
76 is still a bad game that bores me so much, but at least I actually completed a couple of the main story quest lines in that game. Like every one of my friends I gave up on starfield without even barely doing any of the main story.
@@wmj1860why do you keep playing games you know you don't like? Honest question. I played maybe 20 hours of Fallout 4, realized it wasn't for me and then uninstalled. You know you don't HAVE to buy/play a game just because it exists right?
@@starchillius it's a big mainstream game so he wants to hate on it, like everyone else in the hate x game bandwagon. Don't bother with facts and logic
This new update coming really surprised me. I'm looking forward to a better damage ratio. They really are changing things for a better experience. I'm excited.
Being able to decorate the ship interiors is great and all; but what always drove me nuts was not being able to control the placement of the ladders and hatches when joining the modules together.
This, I really hope that when you can edit the ship you can change the placement of the doors and ladders. I had a few designs that I like the outer appearance that I had to change because it kept giving me the could not find a path. When I finally got it to function the doors and ladders were all over the place. It would be great to be able to fix how the ship layout is so I can have a direct line to my cockpit and more intuitive routes for the rest of the ship.
@@mat99rich I wonder if the placement issues has to do with the ship boarding actions making them into mini dungeons. Need to make it a challenge for the NPCs and players or something.
@@HaddaClu It probably does. It would be interesting to see what they use to create the paths. I think it probably has this one door in and one door out because it does seem to hate dead ends.
Fixing the camera during dialogue is honestly amazing
starfield is getting cyberpunk treatment
No, no it's not. It's just getting a patch and a map.
I wouldn’t get that excited about the game yet these changes are good but there is still a lot of work that needs to be done to fix many of the issues such as loading time but land vehicles was a much needed touch
Pronouns please.
@@davidnierzwick2775?
Nope you're wrong. It's getting some minor updates and a map. It's going to be the same game.
As soon as that Creation Kit comes out, the game will become a Star Wars overhaul and the floodgates of us nerds will play the game for 100's of hours because of it
There will be a complete Mandalorian campaign 100%
But what about us star trek nerds we need content toooo
a lot of the modders for this game have given up already bahgahahahah
I just want 40k imperium ship parts, is that too much to ask 🤷♂️
@@griffenchildress9627They'll be back.
When he goes "First 'Land' vehicle", makes me wonder if he's referencing the spaceship or there will be some in atmosphere flying pod we can use. Which kind of reminds me that I wish there was a capital ship system in which you would have a large capital ship that would act as a mobile base, that you could then pilot your own dropship down to the surface of places.
I feel like we could find an old colony ship that was in lore that looks like something that the RDA sent to Pandora from Avatar. That would be a neat orbit-only ship where you could add certain modules to either drop stuff from orbit or launch one of your ships from a docking cradle or shuttlepod bay out of something like Star Trek Enterprise (for something smaller as you mentioned).
The modders could add an Air Support module that launches railgun or artillery rounds down on ground targets like MAC rounds in Halo Wars from orbit lol
Or a mini ICBM that acts like an EMP warhead or something not too destructive for a civilian to acquire but still looks really fun.
Still waiting for Shattered to release before I re-install.
It's cool seeing some of the QOL features in the May update and future teases though.
If they removed back to back to back loading screens, it wouldn't even be Starfield anymore. That's the game's core identity.
That’s just the creation engine MO at this point. best physics tech in gaming, but needs to load every object in a given cell so without loading screens it runs like garbage
The game loop honestly just sucks, idk what they were thinking designing this but hopefully it gets better for those that still play it
Bro, there was a lot of coverage for this Bethesda video, but you always manage to provide the best content. I don't know when you've had the time to dive as deep as you have! Kudos!
there's a quicker way to access the surface map, if you have your scanner out and press G it shows the map then just press G again to close it
Is it just me or do the new maps show just how much of the planets is actually uninteresting empty space?
True. Which makes you wonder if that’s the reason the maps were so terrible. Maybe a way to hide it. This game only really works is if you follow the mission / content parts of the game. Maybe they will make exploration more interesting over time but that’s going to be the super hard task. Maybe the hardest task in all of gaming with the game they chose to make.
For more interesting planets gonna have to wait for the creation kit and modders
@@wulf2863 yes you’re probably right. Probably their hope all along. They set up the big stuff and hope the community fills in all the holes literally. In theory it could work if we get incredible modder work.
Yeah,it’s just you
@@Ray-dl5mpnot really because the random generated planet surfaces can probably be infinite if they wanted to they just didn’t have a vehicle system made yet. Like the nms dev lead said it’s all a math equation, they also don’t have enough verity in assists and textures to fully render planets mostly because they’re to lazy or dumb to create a random generating system for those things as well but who knows.
I hope the vehicle is modular just like the starships it has a lot of potential.
I’m so excited for the interior ship decorating! I already have so many ideas!
Also can’t wait for the rovers and hopefully more Varuun content since they’re the most interesting faction(hope the game will better recognize us as one if we pick the trait).
I’m very pleased with this. So much so I actually decided to reinstall the game; I’ve been patiently waiting for Bethesda to cook and release the Shattered Space DLC, and this seems to be the start of increased depth in the game.
Once they drop the rover and new quests update I'll be back in, they're definitely heading in the right direction. They just need to figure out ways to cut down the loading screens for the DLC otherwise I probably won't buy it
I gotta say Bethesda legit heard the criticism loud and clear and really seem to have understood the reasons people were upset. The constant loading screens is still a sticker for me but the things they are adding and the dlc and the way they were talking about really seems like they were hit hard by people's reaction and took that to heart to actually improve the game. At least the game wasn't really broken at release and was simply disappointing. Really glad to see them doing this. Its still Bethezda though so who knows. Lol
yeah the loading screens and lack of land vehicles were the main things to throw me off initially. glad vehicles are being added. it would be cool if they somehow decreased the loading screens but thats the sort of thing that would require big system and map overhauls, they probably wont do it.
I’ve always known Bethesda as a company that takes criticism, listens to it and tries to improve on it. They really aren’t one of those developers that are out of touch with their fans that’s for sure.
@@-Cheif Yeah, it's why I never understood why some people are dead set on the idea that Bethesda never listens to criticisms ever
@@-Cheif It’s funny because a lot of people’s go to complaint for Bethesda is that they don’t really listen and fix their games, but honestly I can’t really think of many companies that work as hard as Bethesda to create quality content for their fans
@@-CheifI think most people just complain about the state of games when they first launch or make changes which seems to have been getting worse over time, and the engine has massive limitations like the load screens which for me kind of ruins the game because there are so many! Don’t get me wrong I still enjoy starfield and I’m looking forward to jumping back in with these changes and also when the dlc comes out and they do definitely try and make improvements overtime, we just wish they wouldn’t get it wrong first time to have to fix lol
There are other features added that aren't mentioned in the patch notes and ive been testing this.
More varied hostile bases that are closer to your landing point and sometimes connected by caves even.
Ship landing is back with more varied ships to steal if you scam landings
The extreme difficulty and hunger/thirst settings make it actually challenging and food feels more important like a true survival mode.
@JuiceHead3 the hand scanner has a surface map button to go into the surface map instantly. You don’t need to open the planet map. Check the binds under the resource scanning circle for your bind of “surface map” (controller default RB/R1) (keyboard default G)
There is technically a hotkey for the surface map, you just need to have your scanner open (its RB on Xbox controller)
Suprised he didnt know this tbh
I don't think that Bethesda is capable of pulling a cyberpunk, but there is no reason they can't bring this game into a respectable state by the end of 2024
I am way more optimistic.
I am a believer that Bethesda DLC are almost always better than the main game. There are a few detractors but generally I think most people enjoy them.
Also mods.. that’s Bethesda’s thing. Mods and DLCs
The problem is that unless you do a cyberpunk or no man sky move this will remain a broken game. Knowing bethesda i think they will put some effort in the dlc, problem is i don't want to give them money for this game anymore. We deserve better than this.
If they start adding hand crafted planets as DLCs they're going do a lovely a comeback! I will give this a a chance again if that's the case. Redemption arc or not? We'll see.
I'm excited for these updates regardless of how anyone else feels or if there's more critics. This is legit my favorite Bethesda owned game outside of Fallout: New Vegas.
it should have launched with this...........or at least some of these options....
More evidence that it was rushed
I will say, if they don't have a similar Vehicle Builder, like the ship builder, they have MASSIVELY missed the mark. Really hope they realize that's what's needed.
Good call. That would be fun.
I love how fast you get these videos out
8:15 I don't know I like it like that actually. Anyone who has played Bethesda games knows full well some companions or even NPC's can sometimes inadvertently push you around when you're in a dialogue tree due to their pathing. I can't tell you the number of times companions in say Fallout 4 nearly got me killed because they pathed to a workbench or armor bench while I was stuck in a dialogue tree of some type.😖
That said though this update looks REALLY good. I especially love what was done to map layouts and you can customize your ship. Nice! The rover option to is MUCH needed. No more spending 30 minutes to an hour having to jump jet/sprint everywhere.😍
Seems like a nice update hope we get more like this
Can’t wait until Starfield hits 1.0!!
You can open surface map by pushing "G" button while scanner mode is active
Excited to play Starfield again for when the Shattered Space expansion releases. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my modded playthrough of Fallout Tales of the Two Wastelands which should keep me busy for a while lol
Oh yay stuff that should’ve been there at launch and more stuff that should’ve been there at launch and EVEN more stuff that should’ve been there at launch woooo yeah
Now if they could add actual factions in that were supposed to be there on launch.
Cant wait to go from mcdonalds tier slop to 5 star slop! Thank you todd!
Just so everybody knows if you press and hold the menu button on controller, it automatically takes you directly into the surface map without having to navigate in additional menu. The same is true on mouse and keyboard.
Vertibirds in Fallout 4, space ships in Starfield... I think he was just referring to this being the first vehicle Bethesda has had to design to work on the ground specifically.
You know as soon as they said "new ways to travel" my mind instantly went to FO4's Vertibirds.
I'm really excited for a dune buggy, that could be so much fun on a huge open map. I'd drive around with no real purpose other than for fun!
But some sort of autopiloted hovering transport would be great too. Imagine flying past an enemy installation firing shots as you go.
So basically, they just create a graphic interface for your good old ini tweak. Not a bad change I guess, a lot more people, especially on console side will probably find this very useful and many of these will no longer be needed to be modded in.
Exactly what I thought, was replaying modded Skyrim for the fiftieth time
More than that, it's a light survival mode update. Need to eat and drink to not be debuffed, normal debuffs are easier to stack up and harder to get rid of, healing can be made slower and you can't heal in bed, etc. Glad to see it in, it'll definitely help the game out.
I’m one of the few that actually like starfield. This update looks cool
Same 👍
I liked starfield. I just felt it was too easy. Need more of a challenge when it came to ground combat. I think this update will definitely help with this.
What happens with your thirst and hunger when you fast travel from one planet to another planet in the same star system? As you don't use the jump drive, this presumably takes a long time for your character. Will he be fully debuffed, then? ;)
You can open the surface map by opening your scanner then opening the surface map. It's always been on the scanner.
Basically the update is adding features which should have been in the game when it was released.
Exactly what it looks like, its great its getting better but feels like pretty basic stuff, its concerning you need fondamental ''updates'' for a game released 7 months ago
was just mere skeleton when it was released , the game has too many load screens and food has little buffs compared to thier other games
So their solution is...survival mode and a map it should have had at launch? Oh, and a dune buggy.
Yeah, I'm sure that'll add "fun" to the game and fill those massive holes in its narrative and overall experience.
I'm reinstalling Fallout 76 and passing on reinstalling Starfield.
The survival mode is a gui over the .ini file. Most if not all of that was available on launch, they just never patched it in to the game.
"So I was predominantly drinking bourbon to stay hydrated, just like in real life." 😂
This all looks good, and is on track with how Tom Howard really really wanted to make a Space Game, and here's hoping he can keep the drive going forward. StarField does has potential.
I wouldn't say the update is amazing, but I'm happy to see they're continuing to improve the game. I'll definitely play Shattered Space, but my hopes aren't high for what it will bring.
Im not impressed with this game visually it looks good though
I hope we are getting a bigger captains room for your ship like a mass effect type of room for the cap
I'd love a proper CIC and Cockpit inspired by the SR1 for the larger ships.
@@willm.9687 We just need a homeship thats giant and where we can dock our ship at use it like a MOC but it can only land on the main planets with a spaceport cause its to big
So I've got a list of things that I think a lot of people want Starfield to have/be added to make it a game they would play.
1. Land Vehicles to make traveling on planets less boring between locations and much faster - ON ITS WAY
2. Maps/better maps - ON ITS WAY
3. Less loading screens - PROBABLY WITH MODS
4. More exciting space content - HOPEFULLY IN ANOTHER UPDATE OR WITH MODS (build your own station in space? Space walk?)
5. Full control over decorating of ship interior - ON ITS WAY
6. Full survival - HOPEFULLY IN ANOTHER UPDATE OR WITH MODS (This current update really feels like they're in the progress of implementing it/ I mean more extreme things like radiation and weather having more severe consequences to the player)
7. Immersive planet to space travel and no tile maps on planets - Probably never coming as even modders have said they wont mod the game due to this being a problem with the games engine.
8. An interesting actual story - HOPE WITH THE DLC. Imagine no intelligent aliens in a space rpg lol.
9. Improved base building options - HOPE ITS IN AN UPDATE OR WAIT FOR MODS (a complete back pedal from Fallout 4s settlement building, and with such limited options too compared to the houses and bases you see in the game which you can't make)
10. Swim underwater and have water/underwater content. - HOPE FOR AN UPDATE/DLC OR WITH MODS
11. More variety of enemies - HOPE ITS IN AN UPDATE/DLC OR WAIT FOR MODS
12. More variety of POIs on planets - HOPE ITS IN AN UPDATE/DLC OR WAIT FOR MODS (really tired of exploring the same cave/building twice in a row on two planets half way across the galaxy from each other, mods will likely fix this either way but they shouldn't be expecting modders to fix this for them)
13. More interesting terrain e.g rivers, waterfalls etc - HOPE ITS IN AN UPDATE/DLC OR WAIT FOR MODS.
I'm so glad I held off on playing this game more than a couple hours. I will play when they release the dlc for sure
Starfield is like Cyberpunk 2077, it’s going to need 2/3 years worth of updates and MORE THAN ONE DLC, to be amazing. But it does look like it’s coming along very nicely.
No. They are nothing alike. You are just slow and bought into nonsense from the media. Cyberpunk was a good game from the time it dropped and the only major problem was they should have never tried to put it on the older consoles. The story didnt change at all and gameplay barely changed in the 3 years between everybody crapping on it and everybody praising it. All you are proving is that you will listen and believe any old nonsense the journos say to the point that you will ignore people that actually played the game and keep being on the negative hype train just so you feel like you are in the popular group. Completely brain dead.
Agree. I’m gonna wait 2 years then maybe jump back in.
Did you guys hear?! Starfield is almost ready for launch!!! 🚀
"Once you do vehicles, it does change the gameplay so by focusing once you land in your ship, you’re on foot, it lets us really for the players make it an experience where we know how fast they’re seeing things." Toddler really can't leave fast enough
I hope we get some options to chose where the ladders and doors appear on the ship
Maybe they can remove one of the 3000000 loading screens
Starfield fans when they add a feature every game ever has: 😮😮😍😍
Would you rather they just give up on the game and leave it out. Sure, maps should have been in the base game, but they're adding them now so why does it matter?
Ah yes features multiple games have, ignoring the fact that those games don’t all have the same features BGS games have. Those other games don’t give me the option to go 3rd and first person, have story quests, fluid combat, dog fighting, base building/ship building , survival and immersive sim features all in the same game.
@@INFNIT_ It's mad what they can cram into a vanilla bethesda game.
I gather from my own "research" (watching youtube....) that for a lot of people who don't have much time to game, they will pick one game & that's all they need.
So it needs to be a game with a lot of variety, fast & slow paced moments, crafting, building, combat & so on.
Bethesda have specialised in making that type of game I think, & they're super popular with "casual gamers" like myself for that reason. Long may it continue.
I believe the advanced nature of house varuuns wepons and armor is because they have existed for far longer inside a dimension of the serpent god and had time to advance warfare, hence their ability to take on all factions in the crusade.
The rare house varuun wepons look ancient like they are reminanats from the serpent crusade, but they are all using complex materials and use particle physics.
Meanwhile the particle weapons of the settled systems look brand new, clean and almost prototype like....as if reverse engineered.
So imo varuun kai and dazzra is held within the dimension of the serpant, tho the space anomaly to access it could be found in the serpentis system...
And only the plants of the embassy allow communication through the veil.
Looks like I'm picking Starfield back up later this year, hopefully these updates and the DLC makes it more like the game I wanted it to be.
I'll play this game as soon as it gets a VR mode.
I think the biggest failure in starfield, besides having sweet baby inc get involved, was not having any reason to upgrade your ship, because ship battles were awful and pointless. Spaceborne 2 was made by one guy and has more interesting space battles and combat with the ships that come with it.
Go outside immediately
@@RuthwikRao you must never have played any other spacecraft games if you think you are outside more than I am. News flash, this game was received extremely poorly and I'm just spitting facts.

This is a breath of fresh air and honestly, as a marketing professional, you can easily tell their entire communication strategy has shifted and changed, almost reset. It's now much more solid and professional, as a game company of this size and reputation needs.
You can also see how in true Bethesda fashion, a game comes into its own after some significant updates. We've seen the same thing with Fallout 4 and Far Harbor, Fallout 76 and Wastelanders, and now Starfield with Shattered Space.
I already love Starfield, I've got 380+ hours in it, but after my first Unity jump, it hasn't felt the same. But I'm 100% sure I'll go back after the rover is released and go through Unity again. The new official mod system also has me really excited. Lots of improvements, I'm happy they're continuing to do right by fans.
I quite enjoyed my first stint playing the game, despite the quirks and limitations. Haven't been back in a while but keen to have another crack. Might wait for Shattered Space though. I actually think the game still has a huge amount of potential. It has good bones but needs a bit more polish. Reducing loading screens by placing you inside the location when navigating from the map would be a huge win.
What does a community director do for a studio that basically never communicates with the community?
A lot of future planning, meetings, data analysis (interactions), and stuff like that.

That makes sense. I suppose that I should make clear that any jabs implicit in my comment are directed more at general high-level decision-making at Bethesda rather than the rank and file doing their best like her lol
Can't wait for them to make the game fun and immersive. Would love to visit lush, handmade planets with amazing lore friendly POIs and an array of factions to befriend and betray. Would love to modify melee weapons too.
I remember the first time I played skyrim, talking to Alvor, that's when it hit me, i could walk around and mess with stuff, while maintaining the conversation. I felt like the approach to conversation was a improvement. My issues were always with the content of the conversations, the lack of meaningful choices, and a lack of use for the speechcraft skill. Seeing them changing up the dialog again, it makes me wonder if they have end goal how they want a conversation to be.
Surface maps just show how small and empty cities are
LOL! All those armchair game devs saying Bethesda would never put vehicles in, the engine can't handle it, it'd require a total redesign of the game, etc, etc.
Or the millionth comment "Huh dur, almost out of beta", it was funny the first time, but it isn't now the 1092824978278972th time.
I love the gameplay options they added. I want this released NOW
Regarding the maps and the POI markers: as someone who enjoys a minimal heads up display play through, I personally enjoy a well-defined map, and a less a cluttered screen.
0:31 imagine replacing a New Vegas displate with a Starfield one
"Big update everyone, the loading screen simulator added more loading screens!" 😂😂😂
New updates are good! I dont need car like vehicle to move around tho because I have really enjoyed flying and jumping around with my jetbag. When u upgrade it enough, its the nicest way to go around.
These city maps are next level! I never thought I’d be so excited about city maps alone 🤣
The only bit of the update that is actual content is the ship interiors. “Huge”? Really?
AAA game in 2024 with budget in the hundreds of millions adds maps months after release.
"AMAZING"
Yeah. Problem is a lot of people are really happy. So, fully completed, full priced games are gonna be more and more rare going forward. There's just no economic insentive to care for the quality of their product at launch, or ever really, when peeps are more than happy for scraps of what should have already been in the game, added in post launch.
I've enjoyed starfield since launch. And i still play today. I'm so excited for this update on xbox. This could become my favorite Bethesda game
You don’t have to open the world map to access the surface map just open your scanner and there’s a key to open the surface map I use a control on pc so for me it’s RB not sure what key it is on keyboard
People judge Bethesda games based on how good other games look without taking into account the vast difference in scope. Bethesda should be commended for their loyalty to older games. Yes it sacrifices new game progress. But i'm tired of games being dropped by some devs way too eager to move onto the next installment.
The main problem is that Bethesda doesn’t focus on quality, they mostly release half a game and than slowly add more in the years, it’s frustrating
@@Anzyn I do understand peoples frustration in this. Myself I like what they do. I'll take a less pretty game that lets me do so much more than other games. Then again I tend to wait for GOTY editions. Save for Fallout 4. I got that day 1.
So… those maps look like hot doodoo to me. Visually. Am I the only one?
Yes u are the only one
The original maps were horrid so, any improvement is better.
Yo juice with the ship interior customization can you change where the doors/ladders go?
Honestly, I hadn't been playing the game since I beat the main quest the first time. I can't wait for what's next of Starfield but I do wanna wait until Mods come out. Or when DLC 1 lands. Ether way I'm so happy too see Starfield get some love and I can't wait too hop on again!
I'd say Starfield fell off but I don't think it was ever going to be a popular game after the honeymoon phase expired.
Shortest honeymoon phase out of all Bethesda games
honeymoon... i must have mist it
@@VoidSmoker97It is the first new IP
@@revben I'm aware though that's not really relevant to the fact that it fell off quick
Anyone left to care ?
What many people said about cyberpunk, now look at it. A lot of us are indeed waiting for the updates, patches, and DLC.
Why does Starfield trigger so many people?
i wasn't interested in starfield before, but this update makes me more intrigued
Although I appreciate the new map and the ability to customize ship interiors, I desperately need to be able to choose where the dang ladders are on my ship. Being able to choose where the couch and beds go is awesome, but having a crazy maze in my large ships to get from floor to floor is crazy. Especially when I cange 1 part and now the ladders move location.
