The gameplay options didn’t get as much publicity but are real game changers. It allows you to control difficulty and a configurable survival mode. Every game should give you similar options. This is really the best new feature IMO.
Being able to make the game easier instead of getting better at the game is a terrible way to design a game
@@JoshJr98you can also make it harder
@@JoshJr98just don't make it easier then, simple problems with simple solutions
@@secspest I just don’t like that they are shifting the balancing of gameplay onto the player instead of doing it themselves like any game developer has to. It’s their job to make ship combat easier or on foot combat harder or etc to balance the game, instead they just said “you do it”
@@JoshJr98 I guess it all comes down to perspective. It's like the old saying, better to be looking at it than for it. In other words, if you like the "vanilla" difficulty then don't touch the settings, but if you don't then you have the choice. I know I love the idea of playing through again with survival settings on and more realistic damage exchanges
So it's slowly getting to be what it should have been at launch, will get around to it someday.
Maybe in 5+ years when the DLCs, fixes and mod tools are complete and the total overhaul mods seriously change the game for the better 💀
The game is Good, everything from combat to customisation to building to graphics are much better than in any fallout games, even if fallout games has been out years and moded.
Anyways, Its normal that huge rpgs are upgraded and updated over longer period of time.
Its a different to do 10 to 20 hour long movie game than open world rpg which gives u hundreds hours of play time in several environments and settings.
Nearly every game is like that now.
@@MinosMLnah, more like next year
@@MinosML cyberpunk did it
A decent step in right direction but ultimately doesn’t fix the boring repetitive generated POI landscape that keeps me away.
Same here
This, no bethesda die hard can even argue that.
Intrinsically the game probably really isn't for ones complaining about the poi's. There's so much to unpack from the viral complaint. For one there's a ton of variety supplied via many of the systems.
If the same people suddenly got their wish, it's a safe bet to say, they likely won't have any more fun because of the systems and gameplay.
Also there are streamers well over a thousand hours and still finding new variations and new buildings.
It was part of the nature of the game.
The only thing truly a mile wide and an inch deep is the shallow complaints about the game from people that don't even know what they want nor what they're looking at.
@@exoticspeedefy7916 Explain the ridiculous dip it had just two weeks into the game. None existant on steam after a month... give it a break shill
@@exoticspeedefy7916 shameless, almost gratutious cope from this shill. the game is just plain BORING.
I really wish they would add a ton of clothes. For a game of this scope its amazing how little there is to customize your character with clothing.
It's ironic that the major hubs in 76 have exterior and interior options for fast travel and not StarField
because 76 is online and players in mmo/online are waaaaaaaaay more _yellier_ than single-player.
Imagine complaining about a loading screen
@@Lonestar1017imagine playing garbagefield
@@SilentSpringzzz imagine crying over a game you never played before and only getting your opinions from the CZcamsrs you follow
76 took yearssssss to become the polished game it is today. Also you still have to hit loading screens to go into interiors of building in 76 aka vaults or npc interiors etc.
And no mod support yet probably going release dlc comes out
I doubt it, but here’s hoping
Not even mod support ca save this train wreck
Technically the Game can be modded but why dont just press a button for it huh?
There's no CK yet but there's still more mods for this game than any Bioware game , and better mods to .
@@OlderthanIlookyoungerthanIfeel You compare bathesda modding with Bioware?
Still 16 times the loading screens, still meh
If loading screens are a deal breaker, you must only play a few games.
@@FrogdoddofficialLiterally only one game of this type that has seamless world came out, and it was when Starfield was already long into development, and suddenly it's a dealbreaker. The devs didn't even have time to adapt to those new expectations.
@@Frogdoddofficial That krzy guy kinda lame and sounds like whining, the game is pretty good loading screens fast and usually have a cool pic and lore info
And now that we can fast travel to poi's around cities, that's another 16 times the loading screens. It just works!
Gonna take more than this to get me to reinstall. Especially considering Elden Ring DLC coming soon, I'll save my gaming time for a good game I think.
Exactly, best to wait for this early access game to be complete.
I was just thinking that I need to reinstall and try this out and then I saw this comment.
You are 100% absolutely right thank you for the reminder that there is better games and better ways to spend my time than on a poorly executed game such as this.
yep, who is going to reinstall Starfield for some mediocre CC microtransactions when stuff like Shadow of the Erdtree is coming out? 😂 Honestly it might not even be worth going back to Starfield even with the expansion, i'm suspecting some of the major changes like vehicles are not gonna come with that one.
Yeah that's what I'm saying. Hard to tell nowadays if JuiceHead is just a diehard Bethesda fan coping until the last breath or if he's just getting paid by Bethesda to give them some positive press.
So hyped to play this game 10 years from now.
Ngl those loading screens killed off the thought of me going back ... I haven't even finished it and I really want to. But Cyberpunk 2077 still feels a lot better
Same my friends and I struggled to play due to how often your sitting there staring at loading screens even though they last like 2 seconds its so often that I have to put my feet up and go into a relaxed position because how many times I'm loading. By then I'm already falling asleep.
@@transonicgnat5872 Tbh I don't really care as my Skyrim load screens are 45 seconds and I feel I wait longer in that game then Starfield. xD
Load screens for starfield on series x are 2-3 seconds. Meanwhile load screens on the outer worlds are still 15-20 seconds.
@SwampDrippin yeah but they average at like 10 load screens per hour
Spot on !
They need to remove the loading screens
with how quick they are (at least for me, even with mods), they should at least just play animations during that time and make it feel more immersive instead of a random image popping up for about a second or 2.

Really they should have used another engine, the creation engine while not the best works great for the other games(system wise), for a game with so many different zones they had to break them all up, and since you can travel via foot and ship it just adds to the number of zones.
They should have brought back that interactive loading screen where you could rotate and zoom in and out in game models. At least better than a static image right?
@@MrQuaidReactor Even if they used a different, it still wouldn't have been that good, the writing is what ended up killing this game for me, no engine can save poor decisions
The biggest thing for me with the new ship decorating is that the Starborn ships can be decorated and they look so much better now.
But you still cant place doors and ladders where you want them, neither move existing interior objects..
@@exoticspeedefy7916 ok but what does that have to do with what I said, specifically about the starborn ships?
They have been making decent changes.
Now can we as a community make a push to:
- Add Trident luxury ship habs along with more exterior ship customization?
- Add more things to build in outpost mode? We should be able to build a house on habitable planets and we should have more furniture to decorate with. I want Fallout 4's settlement building freedom in Starfield's Outpost build mode.
- Add more side quests (I think this one is already confirmed)
- Revamp the proc gen on planets and add more POIs and add static towns and villages that everyone would have spawn in the same locations (Like they did with the three main cities).
- More QOLs
I definitely agree on the 4th request, we need more POI, since theres not a lot of locations and you see the same one copy and pasted 24/7.
- Have the ability to place doors and ladders where we want them!
Never saw the point in building a base other than being a time filler.
@@btbarr16 More for the people who like to be creative
@@exoticspeedefy7916 I guess. Just would have been nice if there was a more compelling hook for engaging in the base building mechanics, but it was just kinda there.
Glad to see that they added settlement mode to the ships. I teleported a settlement beacon into my ship and made it tiny on day one. Absolutely blew my mind that that had left it out.
Beacon?
@@julianolotero6600 Left over terminology from FO4. The tower thing you need to build to make a settlement.
Bethesda lost time, cutting down the vision to fit it on a Series S.., now they're on catch up..
...
Starfield can be saved, this was the 1st real step in the right direction.., more are needed, after Shattered Space, Bethesda will still need 1-2 years (with another 2 big DLCs, to make up for the missing exploration in the base game.., besides ofc more depth towards F4 depth & beyond..,on the long run, it could be worthwhile, as long as the 3 big DLCs are high quality and not rushed)
@@VampireNoblesse Shattered Space will most likely be the only DLC we get, hopefully they just add new features and improvements along the way
@TheLazyFinn
if Shattered Space is the only big DLC, its over with Bethesda & Xbox..,as it is waaay not enough
I just started Starfield a couple days ago. Im a ps5 guy but recently bought an Xbox because I wanted to get back into the old Fallout games so I got Starfeld as well with game pass. Idk if its just me but this game just doesnt feel NEARLY as good as Fallout or Elder Scrolls. Maybe its because I just started but normally with Bethesda games I get excited to explore, and im instantly hooked. This whole Constellation hook with Sarah just seems boring. This game (to me) kinda feels like Outer Worlds done worse. Idk thats just my initial opinion. Hopefully it changes.
It gets better once you get into the faction quests. Also just focus on a few quests at a time I’d recommend. It can get very overwhelming spending like two hours just excepting quests in a new city for instance.
Unfortunately, the best part of previous Bethesda games just don't work the same in Starfield. Fallout and Skyrim see that ridge over there? Well walk over there and get lost or distracted on the way. Starfield see that planet well go to your map, fast travel, and a couple loading screens later you'll get there. It all feels so tedious just to travel from one point to another . I gave the game 50 hours and definitely saw some improvements to graphics, gunplay, and characters but the best part of Bethesda games just wasn't there for me. Maybe I'll give another go when more DLC and mods come out for it.
It gets worse, boring weapons/variety boring armor/variety, boring looting in general, boring exploration
You’re on point it’s a bad game dude.
Yeah like the other comment I liked the faction quests way more than the main story... It's like really bad except one part or too. But also it just need more stories and quests like at least one to each system or planet. It's kinda sad. I looked and found very little unique cool story moments but the ones you get are still good. Just not great and satisfying as much as older games
8 months just for some tweaks
Oh shut up, they're obviously going in the right direction and this is a big improvement
@@relaxedclaw for 8 months this is barely an improvement when you remember they had hundreds of people working on this

Procedural generated maps was a mistake
Have they added more difference in the planet locations? Or are they just reusing the same 10 prebuilds over and over and over and OVER AND OVER AND OVER?!
You will get 100 duplicates and love them, Todd demands it. Besides in early playtesting BGS was amazed and so hype about putting sandwiches in a ship. They all lied, you can't tell me any competent programmer played it and thought the procedural system was good, traveling to 3 planets in 2 different systems to find the same exact building with the same npcs layout and clues, SMH.
@@MrQuaidReactor
they actually decided to go with making the POIs handcrafted and created 150 POIs
So they aren't procedural generated and only the locations of these POIs are the only random part, on paper i get it they thought hey people will cry about the game using too much procedural generation so maybe if we made the POIs handcrafted then people will be satisfied but clearly in reality it backfired massively
@@user-ko3fp8wp3t I like PG content, and I like hand-crafted stuff, but when I go to 3 planets, in two different star systems with the same exact dead scientist in the vent with the same note that's the issue. Using the same building, npcs and corpse are all fine, but when I read a note "Sorry friend I tried to disable the door but it failed, signed Bob" 5 times that's the issue. And the bigger one is I saw this after only 1 hour of playing, after the tutorial stuff, so there is no way they did not encounter this.
@@MrQuaidReactor I'm still wondering how Bethesda thought people would play the game, because i also found that issue very early on with minimal exploration of side content.
@@EatThePath-7 Thats the thing that got me, they say immersion, but I found tons of duplicates everything. And I said this before its not the building layouts that get me, cause in reality corporations build those things the same so that's fine, but the same notes. I bet you found the cryo lab that has dead scientist, one in the vent, and then there's the collapsed mine with the same dead miner in it. I need to make one of those videos where I have a counter for duplicates, ugh but that would mean I need to paly it again.
Did they patch in any fun yet?
Plenty. Way more to come yet too! 😃
Excited to buy this three years from now on a sale 🙏
Waiting to buy when modding tools are released.
Dont buy it then either
I'll be pirating it in 3 years.
What a loser
Only if it’s more than 75% off. It will be amazing to see a 14 year old game (Skyrim) will be selling for more on sale than this pile of dog sh*t.
They’re defo going in the right direction and a lot of this is more than “tweaks”. The maps do show a weakness in how much space isn’t utilised and how far things are. But. That’s what land vehicles will be for and I feel there will be more POI added with the vehicles and random encounters.
More poi’s with npc’s friendly or not driving around would greatly help the emptiness of some of the planets. That said I still want more environmentally hostile or small planets to be desolate and empty.
I think I've racked up nearly 100 hours on Starfield.. and 90 of them were in the ship builder 😂😂😂 Gat DAYUM that builder feels so good!
I hate crafting. It’s a waste of time imo. I want more quests. This game has less than half the quests in any of their previous games. Crafting is low effort content.
Most of my time was building my ship too but now I can do my own Hab interior is absolutely sick and just doing freestar missions bounties I get all the stuff I need to craft

I’m actually liking the idea Bethesda has been doing with the preformance update for console users.

Cope, quit whining and consoom like a mindless drone...I would be joking, but since this comment section is full of people who love the game and can't take it being criticized, well..
Thank you all that supported Starfield Early Access , hope they manage to complete the game before the Launch of september 6 of 2025
One thing the new maps have really helped me with so far is finding the ocean on coastal maps. It's so much easier now!
I cant believe they added Preston Garvey and a settlement system
Awesome! Will probably jump in when the DLC drops
In this update: a bunch of stuff that should have been in the game from the start.
They still need to add the mods.
Creation kit is soon out
What's the point? Bethesda will obviously kill mods like they're doing now. I dont see the point of all this hype!
They should base it on the Fallout 76 mod support.
You cant even call this a step forward because these features should have came with the base game instead of going "we fixed issues that shouldn't have been broken or missing aren't you guys happy now" This feels like they are lowkey spitting in our faces and calling us incompetent like no one would notice this. At this point I don't care what Bethesda releases from here on out till the next elder scrolls game and even then if that isn't next gen ground breaking creativity I'm done with Bethesda as a company, too many great memories to be sullied by half assed new releases.
You are wrong
If you really feel that way i suggest you should just stop playing BGS games and move on to something else.
Whats the logic? how "hey are lowkey spitting in our faces and calling us incompetent like no one would notice this"? They said nothing, is an update, and if they could release the game with this update, they would have done, they gain nothing waiting to release this type of stuff
I do agree that it should’ve been there from the beginning but they are heading towards the right direction, although I do admit it is a bit slow and minor. let’s just hope they keep heading and really try to push for this game like what happened to cyberpunk. They do need to fix a lot because everything from the combat to the story is just mediocre.
I take back my comment on the last Starfield upload. After seeing how extreme it can be i decided to download it and max out every slider to make the game harder. Now i have to plan ahead before to make sure im able to survive. Loving the survival aspect and completely changes how i would normally play this game.
Yes it feels like a dead game, but now i aint worried about if its dead or not since every action i do means likely death. I love thus and im freakin happy Bethy put this in. I will be playing this
I like the Traits change option. I hope BGS also add the option to have more than one Background. 👀 Like a Soldier that became a Chef, for example

Absolutely loving it so far! I have a mid-high range PC that for a bit I used to play Starfield but I’m not a monitor style gamer. I like laying in bed, popping on my console, and sitting back with my TV. The uncapped and 60fps modes with VRR coupled with the new maps are perfection. I’ve been playing it again nonstop since getting home from work :) such a fun game.
What id love to see would be more options for NG+ for example Carry some weapons over or an option to store every suit you collect from each NG+ 🤷♂️
to me it sounds like this would slowly be getting playable if not for the braindead to decision to add countless boring proceedural worlds rather than fleshing out 8 planets or so.
Waiting for DLC. Or in 3 years if they add crafted planets.

Probably the only game where "fast travel" needs to be fast-forwarded in video.
Still zero talk of integrating Direct Storage to speed up loading times by like 300% or something.
I don't understand why they didn't tweak the fast travel from the fancy new maps to actually place you inside the location you are going to instead of just outside to face yet another load screen. It wouldn't even be difficult for them to have given you an option when you select the map point you want to move to. Well let's hope the Creation Kit brings back the modders, and maybe someone can do this.
Thumbs up 👍 if anyone started a NEW GAME like I did. And no.. I don't mean the weird NG+ mechanic where you just switch to another universe and start over. I mean you started over COMPLETELY.
I only beat this game once. The first playthrough. And I missed a LOT of stuff. Now that everything is better, both visually and performance wise and I can customize things more how I like, I figure I'll just start all over.
Borefield gets saved by modders, yay! 😂
Modders cant fix everything people want fixed. Some of the biggest gripes with the game requires the game to be remade in a new engine in order for them to be fixed or to how players want. The Creation engine is one of the worst engines to use to make a game that Bethesda wanted starfield to be.
Modders shouldn’t even have to save the game. The base game should stand on its own. Don’t know why Bethesda just doesn’t give them a job when they’re more qualified then their current staff for about a decade or more
Well, I was hoping modders could add some new content such as quests and new storylines, that'd be nice. I think that for how much we paid for Starfield it should've had at least three times as much official content, like Skyrim but oh well.
Not reinstalling until mod tools are out
I got news for you modders cant fix everything wrong with the game. That will require tools that modders wont have access to. It would start with Bethesda remaking the game in a new engine to house the things that players want in the game. The creation engine is not something that shouldve been used to make starfield because Its old technology.
@@jondagamer4466 Pretty much all the problems I personally have with it could be fixed.I don't love the load screens but my computers pretty good so they are mostly instant anyway so I'm not too fussed about it
The option to toggle 60 FPS with Visual mode is to future proof the game for future Xbox systems if a “Pro” version comes it will likely be able to hit 60FPS other games that allow configurations like this are the recent Resident Evil Remakes on console

I hope that in Elder Scrolls 6, they develop a more immersive world traversal system, rather than allowing players to fast travel directly to their destination.
In a game that now advertises configurability, it's stupid how you get an XP debuff. Gathering XP is hard enough as it is, much like trying to make money off of the tons of weapons and equipment you've just scrounged.

That 60fps is GLORIOUS, and the series X is actually powerful enough to get 60 or almost 60 even in visuals mode
I found that in new atlantis, the frames drop to around 45-50 and it really isnt so bad
I like having the settings so that enemies kill me in like 1-3 shots and I kill them in the same. Feels a bit more realistic and for me personally, that’s fun. Ship combat though I do not have it so quick. Still tuning but have it so it’s kinda difficult but still doable with good flying.
So tired of hearing 30 fps is unplayable. It runs fine
I'm coming to the realization that people's eyes just work differently. 30 fps feels like I'm playing while I have a concussion 😅 i personally needed the enhanced frame rate. I'd rather have 60 at 1080 than 30 at 4k. But some people are completely the opposite
Well, thankfully they added options. So if you still want to play at a god awful framerate you go right ahead.

This update actually put more bugs into my game...
It's a Bethesda game, what did you expect? Fewer bugs? Allow me to introduce you to the FO4 "next" gen update. Oh and the Starfield Community Patch
That's been the theme, fixed then broken, new and then old bugs, some return, they never get these patches perfect at all.
What starfield needs is a mod maker. When I played and had like 10 guns in my inventory, shooting anything dropped fps to near zero turning the game into a slideshow... did they fix this?
The tone of these fixes and changes tells me Bethesda doesn’t care about this game at all. None of the changes are improvements they are all just damage control. Bethesda knows this game is done for the general Bethesda fan
I haven't played Starfield since last October. After about 85 hours I was totally underwhelmed. Maybe I'll give it another try this Oct. and see if it's any better.. Glad I got it as a promo code instead of paying $100.00 for it. Thanks for the video.
The lackluster plot and bland character have not been fix so i hope the DLC pulls a Far harbor miracle

Yeah they remove all the gore, and killable npcs in a game where so many characters are just begging to be killed.
@@paulbryant8403 cant even remove their clothing and let them in their undies
I'm suspecting it will. House Va'ruun was def the most interesting bit of Starfield lore, and if the expansion doesn't go crazy with the density but rather goes for a more classic BGS game direction of having maybe 1-2 maps to explore, it could be quite fun.
I'll guess i get ot for Christmas, cuz I'm planning on pre ordering Shadow of the Eardtree for my birthday
So what are the legendary drop chances now? It used to go off of difficulty but now difficulty is custom. So is it just random?
When do we get CBBE?

Did they fix the Limited save slot bug or is that a problem that can't be fixed?
Limited save slot? They fixed the limited save file...
I literally can’t play a Bethesda game without cranking up the damage for both the enemies and the player (not the stupid difficulty scaling that’s the default) and a hunger system. I’m literally going to give star field an actual try now. Every Bethesda game should have this on launch. Great update.
I would honestly LOVE to do another playthrough buuuut... They already hinted at vechicles so I'm torn. Starting now knowing there are features still missing or wait till another update drops.
I originally only put in about 20-ish hours in to Starfield when it came out... was just thinking back then it'd be better to just wait for "the big update"
I just didn't know back then that it'd be this long until it came out.
Going to be downloading the update tonight and start playing this weekend. Looking forward to it.
So the whole, we wanted to make the game 30 frames was a lie, it should have been, we have not optimized it yet cause its still in early access.
Wasn’t a lie. They wanted that fidelity, looking at its best. So they capped it at 30. Good they’re listening to us that wanted that performance mode. We’ve got many more years of content to come yet.
"you'll be reinstalling Starfield again" *doubt*
The update made me realize how bad the City designs are, and that fact that it seems like the settled system is settled by like 2k people and not billions.
No amount of updates can fix a game that is broken. They wanted the modders to fix it but they can mod it.
Mod support for consoles and im coming back 💯 percent.
I’ve been playing Starfield 119-120 fps for 10 months Xbox x with nvidia graphics chip and lg g3 65”. I can check fps in 2 seconds on the game menu with my remote. Is this bs? Was I really not at 119-120 fps before? My Xbox x gave me the option for hdr10 and 120 from the preset 40 or 60 in the Xbox settings menu right off the bat.
No one even remotely sane cares about Starfield. Its the shittiest game ever made.
Is Starfield now out of Early Access Todd?.
Are you going to run mod showcases for them soon? I usually went to you to get mods for fallout 4
It’s a decent start in the right direction. But if they can cut down the amount of loading screens, then maybe-MAYBE-I’ll consider buying it when it’s on sale.
Console mods. I want… need to play in beskar armor.
Never uninstalled 😁👍
Cos your on playstation with no games.
@@danjjjatest nope, pc. Got rid of all my PSs a long time ago. I joined the overlords. 🤣🤣🤣
Now all I gotta do is wait for CharGen mod to be updated and I can finally restart my character(but keep face preset) down to Lv.1 whelp and woo Sam again, I guess.
And they still have not fixed the sound track. What a waste of time.
Download it again? Gotta buy it first. And Ill never buy this thing unless its 20 bucks or less with all the dlc and mod support and even then it will probably be a pity purchase.
Wow if it’s the same crack team that worked on the Fallout 4 Next Gen Update this should be good..😂
I promise you, we arent downloading starfield again
Same, still never touched it after launch.
My time on it is: 3 hr 55 mins
8 months later; still crashes, still freezes, still washed out HDR, still broken, still unplayable!
I like how starfields fans act like how big the update is but actually is nothing but QOL update lol.
You are actually playing the same quest, same repetitive POIs, same enemies, same exploration. The core of the game has change nothing, and thats why A LOT OF ppl dont like the game.
updates don’t usually include new content. what you’re referring to are DLCs or expansions
Exactly. The problem is at the core. They'll need to change up that stupid procedural generation, ambient events, and POIs for me to want to play.
