    Med Kits are not the strongest at healing but they have 0 weight and you find them everywhere. If you are at the starport and see another ship come in you can loot the med pack from their loading bay without penalty.

    The safe in your room in the lodge does have unlimited storage, but it's in a pretty inconvenient spot. If you go into the lodge basement, into the room with all the crafting stations, there's a small box on a table in front of the research station that also has unlimited storage, and it's in a much better spot since it's basically surrounded by all the crafting stations.

    @2:50 I think the choice to not let players upgrade receivers to Calibrated or Advanced was to make the loot game last longer. One of the issues with FO4 was that if you rushed Gun Nut you could craft endgame weapons very early on. This way you’re slowly upgrading weapons as you find better versions, and then you focus on getting a Legendary Advanced version

    • @oscarc9417
      @oscarc9417 Před 9 měsíci +17

      The problem i see with the lack of upgrade tier option, is that it makes a bit pointless wasting resources on modding normal, calibrated and refined weapons and armors. Why would i mod this weapons if a few levels ups will spawn an advanced, or better, a Superior tier weapon/armor?
      What i would have done is make the upgrade tier resource hungry, plus requiring rare resurces and other items. And putting the requerimemt of needing to unlock tge previous tier before getting the higher ones. That way, none could jump from basic straight to Superior if they have tge resources needed.
      One would have to upgrade first to calibrated, then upgrade to refined, then advanced and finaly superior.

    • @ItsIntelligentDesign
      @ItsIntelligentDesign Před 9 měsíci +14

      @@oscarc9417 so it feels like they actually paced the system out well…… sort of. I’m about 25 hours in, level 20, and stores only carry up to Calibrated weapons. Most “unique” drops from enemies (the kind with a modifier you can’t craft, like Chameleon or +damage to humans) are still baseline or maybe Refined. So if the pacing continues like this, it makes more sense to drop a few resources now to keep my weapons dealing good damage than to wait until endgame.
      All that said… I also somehow got my hands on 2 Advanced weapons that completely outpace everything else I’ve found in terms of DPS. I can’t remember if they were random dungeon loot, or locked behind a Master door. Either way, in typical Bethesda fashion their proc gen system screwed itself up and as a result I use those 2 weapons almost exclusively when I’m not dealing with scrub enemies

    • @YeaaIJusShiddedOnEm
      @YeaaIJusShiddedOnEm Před 9 měsíci

      You can upgrade though. I upgraded all my weapons with the weapon workbench thingy at my outpost. Lol

    • @ItsIntelligentDesign
      @ItsIntelligentDesign Před 9 měsíci +4

      @@YeaaIJusShiddedOnEm there’s 3 upgrade systems in the game. There’s the affix system, where the game will assign a weapon/spacesuit piece as uncommon, rare or legendary and apply 1-3 effects that are exclusive to that system. There’s the pure upgrade system talked about in this video, where weapons go to Refined, Calibrated and Advanced, which is a straight improvement each level and is determined by loot drop and not craftable. And then there’s the system of modifiers that you can add on at a crafting bench, which give small improvements that aren’t nearly as impactful as the other 2 systems. But it’s so hard to find a Legendary Advanced version of the item you want, with the correct effects, that you might as well craft upgrades to carry you over

    • @Jeff-cn9up
      @Jeff-cn9up Před 9 měsíci

      @@oscarc9417 most if not all of the craftable mods only cost a few pretty common resources, though. Not worth waiting for better tiers.
      It sucks to have a "legendary" low-tier weapon you can't upgrade though, I agree.
      But there are always console commands. You can add and remove the rarity modifiers if you look up the amod/rmod command and the OMOD list of codes.

  • @Hunterstiq
    @Hunterstiq Před 9 měsíci +318

    The one tip that seems so obvious but took me forever to understand; make use of your ship's cargo and upgrade it when you can. All workbenches pull resources from your inventory AND your ships inventory regardless of how far away it is. Also gathering loot (primarily guns and armor) drop it in cargo hold to sell later at vendors. And just like workbenches, you can sell from your cargo hold directly to vendors. So just make a habit of using that cargo hold,
    Another tip is contraband. Getting the skills and ship tech to smuggle the stuff around is good but you can always take contraband and head to The Den merchant in the Wolf system, right by Sol and Alpha Centauri. No skills required, they don't scan you. Trade Authority vendor is just inside, use the 48 hour wait and pawn it all off.

      Unless you want to die in a lot of space battles before having enough skill points invested the tech tree to actually build powerful starships (and the credits required to do so), get your hands on a better ship because the Frontier is pretty worthless once space battles become more common place.

It's not linked so you can't craft directly from it but at least it's only a few step away. Also, whenever I visit a station or outpost, I take note if there is any kind of storage box close to the landing area, even if it's an ammo box as you can drop anything in it. But, depending on what kind of missiles you have (long reload, low capacity, high dmg, or short reload, high capacity mid dmg, etc) you may not want to waste your shots.

    The save scamming of loot works on enemies as well. The loot is generated upon death. So, if you save when the enemy is low health and kill them, the loot gets re-rolled. This is especially effective with 'elite' enemies (the ones with multiple bars of health) since they always have higher loot tables.

    The business about "receivers", that is the weapons tier system, is directly analogous to finding a better material weapon in Skyrim. Ebony is a much higher tier than steel, for example. You can't upgrade a steel longsword to an ebony one, even if it has great extra abilities.
    Although, since they're just invisible OMODS (the system the game uses to add all extra abilities to weapons and armor) I'm sure there will be a mod as soon as the Starfield Creation Kit drops. You'll just need to be able to do compiled scripting associated with a weapons workbench or vendor or something like that.

I guess now the time I wasted trying momma's phrase starting with SIC and getting gunned down wasn't wasted. I'd hoped by letting the one guy who surrendered live would mean he'd disable the turrets and robots, but apparently not.

    heres another tip i dont see anyone talking about. open your menu, select your ship in the bottom left, and press f to open your cargo hold. typically this only allows you to see what items you have on your ship, but if you're within 250m of it you can also place stuff from your pockets onto the ship by cycling to your inventory. this helps a lot particularly with resources, because they're heavy and with one button you can move it all to your cargo hold. especially when exploring a new planet you don't need to go all the way back and through a loading screen. ive actually done this from inside a dungeon before as well, im not sure if that's intended though and the dungeon probably has to be within that same distance as well.

    I am playing on the hardest mode and its been so easy that I dont recommend using those overpowered stuff. I did give Sarah a Equinox with high fire rate without knowing and it indeed made her WAY more useful in combat. I was actually shocked to see her mow down some enemies by herself.

      Everyone plays at a different skill level and some people have disabilities. I'll take whatever tips I can get.

    Dont forget that your ship has a cargo hold that is accesible right to the left of the pilots chair ....when you get up from the chair look at the wall.
    Upgraded ships have full armorys that you can store weapons...save the cargo hold for all the resources .
    And stop stealing unless you have the pickpocket trait

      You can also just drop anything you can't fit in the cargo. My ship has a storage room I can use to dump all my extra weapons I bring back to the ship. So far nothing has disappeared. Now if you customize your ship everything will be put back into your cargo so I'm not sure if it's already maxed out and you have stuff laying around what will happen.

      I was wondering how the heck you access ship cargo. I was looking everywhere and didn’t see it

    Three of these things the game directly tells you if you pay attention. The locking bolts you learn about in a story quest where breaking down one of the doors is an optional route. The Maneuvering thrusters is a skill you unlock under piloting and it tells you in the description how to use it. The highlighted middle part of the speed indicator being where you can turn more easily is one of the first things explained when you first start flying a spaceship. Some of the other tips were pretty good though!

      Somehow, despite deliberately searching for something in game telling me how to use thrusters, I didn't find it

    Used to follow you religiously when I was hooked on FO76. Nice to see you also made the transition to Starfield.

    For the turret section on the mantis quest you can also just pop an amp and run through the turrets before they hit you

      There's also a computer you can hack at the end of the hall before the floor puzzle and you won't have to deal with turrets
