From the first fight, you learn a lot about Yoshi more than Mecha. First, he’s durable as hell, second, he could do what Mario and Sonic couldn’t, defeat Mecha for a single second.
It’s not exactly a defeat if he lost, it was more like a restraint
Just a heads up, Mecha Sonic grew stronger as the story progressed.

It's insane how this character was the ultimate most terrifying thing for me as a kid, he wasn't even respectable, he was just... murderous.
And with every encounter he could easily kill off a main character and collect a power stone that would get him closer to his goal
Now that I think about it, Mainstream people got a taste of that feeling as well with Thanos

I don't give a single fuck, this was one of the coolest things to come out of the Flash scene. As a kid this was so cool, and it still holds up today. Extremely creative and smart with what tools we had back then

I still remember how scared I felt whenever I would see Mecha Sonic. Back in the day I didn't understand most of the dialogue (because I'm from latin america) but still and even to this day I feel chills going through my spine whenever I see Mecha Sonic fighting Mario and friends. Definitely a great part of my childhood that always brings a smile back to my face when I watch it.
I saw Sonic & Knuckles for the first time, and as soon as the Mecha Sonic boss started I was freaking out like "NO NOT HIM, HE'LL DESTRO- Oh wait that's not canon to the games".
Dude, same, i'm also South American (Chile) and saw these in my first PC, when i has just a 6 year old, and even not knowing any english, just becouse of the actions, i knew some hardcore things were happening. Not just the flashbacks, also, the emotion the fights and characters gave, and above all, the imposing, brutal, and supreme Mecha Sonic

Yoshi put up a fight against Metallix because Metallix *let* him. Metallix seems to have more murderous tendencies and sadistic outlook than Mecha does. His violence is completely restrained: He hits again and again and again because what he's fighting is still moving and increases his brutality when his emotions flare up. Metallix is incredibly unhinged right off the bat.
That wasn't Mecha Sonic. No, Mecha Sonic was a stone-cold killer. The only amusement he got out of fighting was how easy it was to put his foes on the ropes...the opposition against him itself was illogical and absurd. Who even could dream they stood a chance? Past that? No, outside of his little game with Mario and Co. on Yoshi's Island, Mecha ends his fights in *seconds.* And that's what makes him a different kind of brutal compared to Metallix. Not better: different. Every strike and every attack is purposely made to be as agonizing and painful as possible because it's the best way to put the enemy down. Even at his most angry, Mecha turned that fury into raw catharsis, *instantly* striking back with zero hesitation.
I just love this contrast Mark (Alvin Earthworm) introduced: it was clear he was very passionate about honoring what Mecha Sonic stood for while introducing something new.

I love how the show's creator never gave Mecha some gimmicky acheles' heel. Every time the characters fight with him, it's retaliate or die- and for almost all the non-main characters, it was the latter. Any time the guy was even on SCREEN you didn't know if someone was about to be put out for good on the whim of Mecha's power. This applies for #3's fight the most, my personal favourite. It's the most all-out the series ever gets, even compared to #6- the entire gang just TRYING to take down Mecha, while he pretty effortlessly counters all of them with exception to Shadow. great stuff, I miss this series

I don't know which fight is better, honestly. They're all intense as hell, and they all made you fear for the characters lives when Mecha Sonic was present. It's such a shame we won't be seeing these remastered in the reboot. A man can dream.

Mecha Sonic was somehow both coldly efficient and needlessly brutal at the same time. His fighting style was outright cruelty, but he never did more damage than was ever needed at a time.
It's difficult to imagine this version of him ever meeting his match at all.
I will always say this, They made Metallica more sadist than coldly effective like Mecha was and it makes me sad.

Wow. Going straight from Episode 3’s to Episode 6’s Mecha Sonic battle really goes to show just how much Mark improved in animation between the two.
Things like the squash effects in the animation adds so much to things like attack impact. Other things like fade-in slow-mo effects, glow and auras and overall faster choreography improve it so much. And it’s hard to think that there’s so little animations that even come close to this quality when this is the mid 2000’s we’re talking about! It’s 2020, the year of the 10TH GENERATION of gaming. Animation in all senses skyrocketed after 2010 came, I mean, look at some 2010 animations like this and you’ll see what I’m on about.
And to think, the Reboot is going to look 100x better! Animations like this are going to be actual relics of their time, I can feel it! (And I especially can’t wait for Episode 6’s Reboot when the day comes!)

These fights have really aged well, all things considered. It’s too bad we’ll most likely never see the official reboot reimagine these fights proper considering the creator went off the deep end to put it nicely but at least we can look back at videos like this and appreciate how it served as inspiration for a lot of fans and helped a lot of people appreciate characters like Mecha Sonic and the Axem Rangers more.

Some Dude it’s a long story. Basically, after Nintendo forced him to make a new Patron account since he explicitly used images of Nintendo characters on it, he became depressed and slowly became more cynical and rude on social media. This leading to him doing and saying many things that painted him in a negative light. When I made the previous comment, he made all of his social media private and took down his videos on his channel but they both seem to be back in time for Christmas. Its mostly Metal Cooler from Tenkaichi for Mecha Sonic, and Goku from the original Budokai for Sonic.
He uses Kubo’s sound effects from Streets of Rage 4 in the reboot. I thought that was neat.

SMG4 Francis is an angel compared to SMBZ Mecha Sonic. Francis killed Emo Fish Girl, kidnapped inklings, tortured them, all because he wants an island with anime ladies. Mecha Sonic murdered all of Sonics friends(Traumatizing Sonic), reduced most of Mobius to a burning wasteland, destroyed most of the people in Mobius, killed an innocent Goomba, put poor Yoshi in a poor coma, murdered the Koopa Bros, crushed the Axem Rangers, attempted genocide on Yoshis(What does this dude have against Yoshis), destroyed Yoshis island, tries to murder Mario, Sonic and others, all because he wants to be powerful.
Considering Chaos Emeralds are even more powerful than Axol's Inkweaver. Mecha Sonic/Metallix will destroy that Francis.
And Semi-Super Mecha Sonic was able to 1v5 Axem Rangers X and took down Koopa Bros without turning Super, Francis doesn't stand a chance.

It's mostly because he stayed in the blue shell power up which was rarely ever used, the only game I remember it being in was super Mario Bros ds and in that you were impervious to damage in it

"Man, do you know cool and money making it would be to make a full game that's similar to this series. I know I would. Just think about it, change up the story a little to have a bigger party size so you could throw in the likes of Geno, silver and blaze.
