This is genuinely one of the coolest sprite animations I've ever seen - and Sonic has a damn lot of good ones! The whole scenario and the way it pans out make this feel less like the usual DBZ fanfiction and more like a monster movie. Especially with how smooth the animations were, and the way it manages to creatively arrange shots to feel like they have depth and various angles despite all being 2D sprites.
Mecha Sonic seems to be genuinely enjoy what he's doing, beautiful animation. This animation is criminally underrated and deserves much more recognition.

Tecnically there are worthy challengers to metal sonic in the metal slug universe,because as we artillery fire does not harm metal sonic,then a good enemy would be the invader king from metal slug 6,completely invulerable to small weapon and enery fire,it's only weakness is that he has to walk or jump around

I feel this being the Rebel Army, y'know, Metal Slug's designated _bad guys,_ gives this more depth. These guys know Mecha Sonic is an even bigger threat than the PF, so they throw everything they have at him, including several bosses at once. Even the Ptolemaic Army joins in, and those two are at each others' throats! ...And obviously lose, but it's the thought that counts.

Tbh though, they did a good job portraying a mainline sonic canon-accurate Mecha Sonic. For example, if Mecha Sonic fought Shadow (which, in this new series, he has), he would easily be able to perform a Chaos Blast with the three Chaos Emeralds that are in his inventory. Mecha Sonic in this series is basically 'What if Canon Mecha Sonic was equipped with his SMBZ arsenal?'.

It has its own canon and pwoer scalig acording to regularanimaionXD's ideas. Everyone's gone on about how absolutely lit the animation is here, which it IS, but I don't feel like the parts at 5:00 gets enough love. That whole building sequence was amazing, but Mecha Sonic just slowly approaching, completely unfazed by the bullets at 5:08 felt like something out of a horror movie bro. Easily my favorite individual scene.
Hey thanks, that was my favorite scene to animate! I think it was a nice result, I wish I could have added a few more floors of carnage but it would have messed up the pacing of the fight a bit. Wanna know a fun fact? As much of a Metal Slug fan that I am, the minute I found out this is a SMBZ Mecha Sonic variant, not even the Martians, Future Rebels, Polematic Army, Invaders, or even the Regular Army Ops (such as Eri, Fio, Marco, etc) could defeat him even with all the Power Ups available. He's just beyond all that.

Problem, have they ever beaten a mechanical monstrosity that may move just as fast as sonic and has chaos powers comparable to shadow. Cause Sonic is fast as shit while shadow’s chaos powers are deadly as fuck. And that’s not mentioning his physical feats either. In the original SMBZ, the fucker survive crashing the death egg into the planet mobius while inside of it and came out just fine. And then proceeded to genocide practically everyone on said planet like a cake walk. Although I am fan of the metal slug crew, they are gonna have a HORRIBLE and short time attempting to fight him.
Funny how Mecha Sonic can take on so many heavy hits from the Rebel Army, who has vehicles and machines that are essentially very powerful. Yet can't beat a single hedgehog that just spins on them a couple of times
This version of Mecha Sonic is not the one from sonic 3, nor the smbz version. Not only he is powered by some stolen emeralds, but it is basically a version of him that, each time it dies, its memory its downloaded to another body and he becomes stronger than before. And he has been loosing for a while agaisnt Super Sonic and Shadow. So you can imagine he is quite broken right now. Dude I really love this animation really much. With epic battle with metal sonic and the rebel(military) forces. It just amazing bc of what weaponry they use at there disposal against the metal sonic!
I am glad, I hope that is not the last thing I do with the metal slug soldiers, they are really fun to animate.

Problem, have they ever beaten a mechanical monstrosity that may move just as fast as sonic and has chaos powers comparable to shadow. Cause Sonic is fast as shit while shadow’s chaos powers are deadly as fuck. And that’s not mentioning his physical feats either. In the original SMBZ, the fucker survive crashing the death egg into the planet mobius while inside of it and came out just fine. And then proceeded to genocide practically everyone on said planet like a cake walk. Although I am fan of the metal slug crew, they are gonna have a HORRIBLE and short time attempting to fight him.

Funny how Mecha Sonic can take on so many heavy hits from the Rebel Army, who has vehicles and machines that are essentially very powerful.
Yet can't beat a single hedgehog that just spins on them a couple of times
This version of Mecha Sonic is not the one from sonic 3, nor the smbz version. Not only he is powered by some stolen emeralds, but it is basically a version of him that, each time it dies, its memory its downloaded to another body and he becomes stronger than before. And he has been loosing for a while agaisnt Super Sonic and Shadow. So you can imagine he is quite broken right now. @@asafgamalielalacamavargas7550 uhhhh, niño, hasta el Mecha Sonic original, o sea el de Sonic 3 y Knuckles, es capaz de vencer a la armada rebelde, con dificultad pero al fin y al cabo los vencería, el de SMBZ es peor porque encima hasta en esta animación sale que tiene 3 esmeraldas del caos, objetos que bueno, son extremadamente poderosos
