A lot of linen now comes from China and is actually chopped short fibres, so maybe think about buying organic, locally sourced if possible. It's like the difference between cheap cotton and pima cotton, it should not feel rough. The thing with flax fibre is that it's very long and silky, which is what makes it tough. If it is poorly processed and spun it will be quite harsh. I grew flax one year and spun it with silk. Have yet to learn to weave, maybe this year.....
You are so right! I can definitely tell the difference in poorly made linen and good quality linen. I have both in my wardrobe unfortunately but will be only buying more expensive linen in the future. Pima cotton rules!

I started a new job at the end of last year and am getting caught up on my favorite CZcamsrs. I’ve missed you, your humor and your classic, effortless chic! I love those removable bra straps! How fun AND elegant! These would also be great for travel. It takes up little space and looks like you have lots of camisoles in fun colors! These would look great with a sweater that I have that is a little bit off the shoulder. I’m going to find a pair of those straps and see if I can’t add some “bling” for a night out or to a dressier evening look! Love you, miss you and your chic advice!
I totally agree about how linen makes you feel. It's a step above in my opinion. I've been wearing it for a few years now and every spring I add a couple more pieces.

I have made my own fancy bra straps by invisibly stitching lace or ribbon to my bra straps especially as I love off the shoulder styles but require a bras support. A trip to the habedashery stall can be a great idea

I bought several linen items this summer, all reasonably priced. I wore them all the time because of the breathability of the fabric. I will definitely buy more pieces next year.

Didn't know about the decorative bra straps. Thanks so much for introducing me to them. If pointed-toe shoes are fitted well, made well, not too high a heel, and not silly witchy points, they can be fine to wear. What a good presentation. Linen is a privilege to wear, isn't it?

I love your classic style Frederique! I think a black turtleneck always looks great with tailored pants, or jeans, dark or light, and pointed shoes/boots. For jewelry, a nice pearl necklace is always good to have as well as delicate gold hoops and/or really gold studs/diamond studs that go with every outfit. Happy you mentioned Zara! I'm in Prague and it's getting cold now so a lot of woman are wearing boots now, short and tall. I'm sorry I saw this late but I was in Provence when you made this. I love you're videos...you inspire me.

I love these tips. And the pointy shoes make your legs look longer and are simply a CLASSIC. And there are comfortable brands, just get on the hunt for them. Admit it, shopping is hunting..

For me to feel elegant, I need:
- A nice lingerie.
- That my clothes are clean and iron.
- A white blouse.
- My hair is wash and comb.
- A minimum of makeup ( eyebrows, curl lashes, put concealer and a little lipstick on lips and cheeks).
- A earrings and watch.
- Clean bag and shoes.

Total agree about the white linen shirt - I bought one this year from the Gap and wear it with chinos and jeans, but also dressed it up with navy blue tailored pants and gold jewelry and wore it to the ballet. Love your videos - great ideas presented in a fun way.

A white long sleeve Tee was on my list and yes, sunnies also. You read my mind. White linen long sleeve sounds good too. I just bought black flare jeans and white would look great with it. I'd like a trench coat but it's hard to find one I like, most are too long. How unique! decorative bra straps. Thanks for the inspiration.

I don’t have a problem with deliberately showing bra straps. I’m trying to understand it, though. I’m of a generation where pretty lingerie was for ME, something that made me happy and that that might be revealed to the right person; but not something I needed to show to everyone. I’m not sure when showing off your underwear to the general public became a thing. To me, classy means you have sexy lingerie hidden under your clothes. Times have changed, and I recognize that. Do you think the same applies to the top of your thong or to a man’s underwear band? I actually have a problem with pantie line, even though most people recognize that we wear panties. Just trying to define the boundaries and what is considered fashion. Should I stop worrying about pantie line?
@@shogo8995 yours was the funniest, and on point, comment 🤔😄I like the way you think: to be the only person that knows that you’re wearing sexy undies… and of course the lucky person you’re willing to give a glimpse of your undies to. But, I agree (though I do it) that purposefully showing your bra strap to everyone is a tad trashy. I find it a bit naughty and that’s always a plus. Panty lines are most definitely a no-no, takes away from the smooth lines of your gorgeous clothes. Men’s underwear band 😂 definitely not. Top of thong… 🤮

Love the bra straps. I am doing pretty well with this video! I wear my 20 year old Tag watch all the time. It still looks good. I bought it with money my Dad gave me before he died and it makes me think of him. I have a great pair of prescription sunnies. Got a trench, a linen jacket, a beige cashmere coat! Rocking this!

I picked out a pair of round amber reading glasses and am thinking them over. The salesperson said the looked good. I wanted something different. I thought they might look kinda silly. They are very similar to your clear ones. I'm so glad so mentioned the reading glasses. I thought it would be fun to have something different. I wear Rx eyeglasses..frames I go for my hair color or close to,it or my eye color..warm blonde or slightly darker amd touquoise. The latter makes my eyes the focus of my face and draw lots of complimets re the eyes
