I just wanted to give my wholehearted appreciation to all of you supporting this channel. It's growing so fast that I can barely keep up anymore, most of the time I am lost for words. Thank you! Here's hoping I can continue to entertain all of you with good service. This is the case of Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell, my longest case yet. I still can’t believe this story is a real one… For those impatient, the story begins to heat up at 09:20.

Genuinely one of the things that pisses me off to no end about this case is the fact that Charles _called the police_ and told them that he was afraid for his life and his kids lives because he was sure Lori was going to try and kill them. And like always, the police did _nothing._ They probably could’ve prevented most if not all of the deaths in this case if they had just done their jobs and listened to Charles.

yes... in SOO many of these horrific cases there were signs, and so often people DO try and reach authorities, and get help from those who are meant to keep us safe and uphold the law. but it seems the system fails us more than not. its actually terrifying. we have this false notion of safety in a modern world with "laws" and "law enforcement". but eventually in time of need, they almost always fail to perform as they're meant to. we're all just left to fend for ourselves.

      @embadly Před rokem +9

I’m not saying it’s the case in this case, but sometimes, and I know this is crazier than the Daybells themselves, they are only legally allowed to do so much.
They follow a protocol; they do all those things (albeit sometimes not to the best of their ability or at full capacity which is what I think happened in this case in the beginning) & if “nothing is amiss”, they leave. they can do that over & over and “never find anything wrong” until something does happen and that DOES happen too often.
For example, if DCFS is called about some children possibly being abused or mistreated, they go (IF they go- DCFS is a whole other garbage monster tbh) and bring their little checklist and if everything checks out- they have food, a place to sleep and something proving they have fun, etc- they leave. A little of it is for liability purposes. Someone can call DCFS on a family they don’t like, just to try and get them caught up and in trouble and be malicious (I’ve seen it almost happen) to have their children taken away. I know that is rare, and it’s obviously deeper than that but I’m just speaking generally.
The best thing someone can do is call in a welfare check. But if, and solely based of LE’s judgement sometimes unfortunately, there is nothing amiss… what else can they do? Harass them when nothing might be wrong? I know it’s better to try and be wrong but I think it’s a liiiittle more complicated than just, “they shouldn’t done this” etc. but I will agree those cops didn’t do shit. and it’s a goddamn shame. but I also truly believe that all these victims’ unfortunate endings would’ve happened regardless.

      @fiftysquiggly Před 3 lety +134

@@oldmandoinghighkicksonlyin1368 I disagree. One of the *primary reasons* for law enforcement is to protect us from this level of crazy - to maintain order and peace. At the time that she left with all of his cars, his assets, and his children without informing him and locked him out of his house it should have became an issue warranting police involvement. First of all, depending on whose name was on the vehicle titles and how the money she took was stored (his bank account or a joint bank account), she could be charged with theft regardless of if they are married for taking a car that legally didn't belong to her and accessing a bank account that she was not authorized to access. Furthermore, at the time she took the children, both he and her had equal custody of the children. To remove them from the home without telling him, take them to an undisclosed location, and deny him the ability to access his children to which he has full legal custody is a crime and can actually amount to kidnapping/abduction charges - not to mention the cause for immediate concern for the welfare of the children. I feel like the police could have done a lot to intervene and prevent some of this crazy but they didn't - they failed, sad to say.

Just an update for anyone watching this:
Lori and Chad Daybell were charged with first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Tylee and JJ. They have both pleaded not guilty on all counts, and they face the death penalty if they are found guilty. Charles Daybell is also charged with an additional count of first-degree murder in the case of his late wife Tammy Daybell, whose body was exhumed after authorities began searching for Tylee and JJ in 2019. Lori is also charged with conspiracy to commit murder in Arizona in connection with the death of her former husband, Charles Vallow.
Authorities maintain that Lori’s brother, Alex Cox, died of natural causes.
Lori and Chads joint trial is scheduled for April 2023.

[UPD of UPD] On May 26, 2022, Judge Steven Boyce approved a motion to move Lori Vallow's trial to January 2023 to keep it conjoined with Chad Daybell's trial. The court approved the motion to move Vallow's trial from Oct. 11, 2022 to Jan. 9, 2023 to prevent an improper severance.
Edit to add new update: Lori Daybell has been found competent to stand trial and her trial has been set for October 11, 2022. Remains to be seen whether Chad Daybell's trial will be moved to join her. Fingers crossed.
[UPD] For anyone not following the case, here's how things stand at the end of March 2022:
Joint trial date set for January 2023, Chad has been arraigned and the state is asking for the death penalty. Lori Daybell has been deemed incompetent to stand trial so she's being restored. When she is back to competency, she will probably also face the DP.
    Charges:
    - Lori and Chad Daybell were indicted on the charge of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and grand theft by deception for the death of Tylee Ryan, JJ Vallow and Tammy Daybell.
    - Lori and Chad Daybell were indicted on the charge of first-degree murder for the death of Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow.
    - Chad Daybell was indicted on the charge of first-degree murder in the death of his wife Tammy Daybell.
    - Lori Daybell was indicted on the charge of grand theft related to Social Security Survivor benefits over $1,000 allocated for the care of minors Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow that were appropriated after the children were missing and ultimately found deceased.
    - Chad Daybell was indicted on the charge of insurance fraud related to a life insurance policy he had on Tammy Daybell for which he was the beneficiary and received funds after her death.
    - Lori Daybell is charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the death of Charles Vallow.

So, someone who's in danger, like a stalker victim, may just be wasting their time by going to the police?
If you wanna let police off the hook on a technicality, go ahead, but I'm not that cold or indifferent. This guy did the most reasonable thing by going to the police, and neither duty nor empathy came to his rescue, and you are so very blasé about it. Dare I say, supportive of it, even.

So Lori and Chad was "true believers" wasn't they? Satan or not, it's the same BS thing anyway.
Over the course of history, "true believers" have destroyed 100's, 1000's and millions of lives. So to say that "true believers" wouldn't kill anyone, is infact wrong.
When we know that religious leaders of different religious ideologies, have blessed genocides and atrocites towards humankind. One can't argue that religious people can't do harm or act extremely cruel.
I was a witness to a horrible act from religious "true believers".
When my mother (@ that time was suffering from anxiety and deep depression), was a victim of two inexperinced deeply religious women performing an exorsism on her. I was @ that time only 8 or 9 years old, sitting just a few meters away watching them do this horrible thing to my mother. I heard how my mother screamd for forgiveness and crying violently when these monsters of religion, destroyed my mother.
I ran out to my dad, who was in the garage, fixing his car and couldn't hear what was going on inside the house. When I came out and told him what was going on, he ran inside, did the only right thing to do with monsters like this. That's the only time in my life I saw my dad get physical and violently angry with people. What my dad did to these 2 monsters was super-hero stuff:)))
He ran inside, with NO hesitation grabbed both of these christian monster-devils by the hair and dragged them thrue the house and SLAMMED them hard onto the concrete floor, infront of the front door. It had to hurt aloooot lmao...It wasn't a soft drop, it was a hard SLAMM:)))))))))))
He then grabbed each of them one @ the time, by hair and the waist of their pants and literally threw them down the concrete stairs outside. There was several steps of hard concrete stairs before they hit the ground. He did this to both of them. While on the ground oof'ing and crying after being thrown several steps of hard concrete steps of stairs he said "and you will never return or see my wife or family again".
He closed the door gently not to frighten me and patted me on my shoulder and he hugged me. Before going inside to comfort my mum. She was sitting there on the sofa, crying violently and still screaming. Because of this, she tried to commit suicide several times.
My mum died at the age of 50, from cancer and she never recovered from her anxiety and depression. GOD?? nowhere to be seen, of course, GOD is a lie!!!!!!!!!
So when these religious monsters(aka true believers) showed up @ her funeral, my dad paused the priest, stood up, walked over to these two entitled devils and escorted them peacefully out of the chirch, closed the church door, sat back down and calmly told the priest to continue.
WHAT A FUCKING SUPER-HERO, what a fantastic role model to my son. If I could be half the man my dad was, I would be fantastic.
My dad died peacefuly @ 72 years old, with his entire family arround him, both foster kids and grand kids.
He and my step mother (who I loved dearly) both in their 60's, helped refugees and 14 or 15 foster kids.
They took in 3 brothers, (the youngest one was only 5 years old), who had lost their parents in car accident. So if someone was good hearted and loving, it was my foster mum and my dad.
If there's a GOD, I think GOD will see it wize to kneel before my dad, because I don't think GOD will stand any chance there. My dad will grab him by the hair and throw him down the stairs if he misbehave.
      I'm an atheist, of course:))))))))))))))))))
I learned that I'm my self closest and I don't need a monster GOD, to guide me thrue life, I know what's right and wrong.
So then to read what you wrote here "A true beliver will never do harm to innocent people" is such horrible monstrous lie. Of course they will, it's a certainty they will. They are religious people. They truly believe, that they are better then everyone else, because of their fantasy and delusions of grandeur.
GOD is a lie and religion is such a satanic way to indoctrinate people into that lie. I have a free will and I have my GODS, my GODS and super-heroes are my Father, mother and step-mother.
And with this I don't need religious morality to tell me to not do harm to others, I KNOW THAT.
I'm really uncertain if religious people have the same moral compass and knowledge.

one of the things I love most about how you go about telling these stories, among many other things, is that you tell a very coherent story of the sequence of events that led to the unfortunate consuquences. rather than just a crime tale, we get an arguably more fascinating one of what "turns people murderers". in a way. I find that many of your videos have a deeper message, they tell a cautionary tale of horror, sequnced with red flags we all ought to know better.
in this case, the way you carefully took time to describe her life as she slowly tumbled deeper into religion, to the point of no return, where it stops being just a healthy practice and begans to consume you, is so crispt and comprehensible. it makes us easily be put in their shoes, because you showed a previous life where they were too, normal, like us, and then slowly, not. we all can run into the wrong sequence of unfortunate events and led astray. we all can be manipulted into a terrible state of mind. these are important situations to be aware of. to know yourself better than what others can convince you to become, or what life will try to break you into.

The world itself is not bad. Don't make the mistake of allowing the media to distort your world view. Bad things happen, yes, but great things happen also. Don't ever forget that.

I get so frustrated when I read/hear about cases where the police ignore a man who says his wife/gf is dangerous or has threatened them. You would think by now they would know to take ALL threats as serious and not just the ones they deem "plausible"

Thank you so much for speaking so sensitively about the loss of Charles. I've had the same sense- that the tragedy of his loss so often gets buried under the deaths of the children. It's almost as if there's so much tragedy in this case that it can be difficult to fully comprehend all the loss...not merely of the innocent lives which were ended, but also the loss & grief still so keenly felt by the surviving loved ones.
It's amazing just how much horror can be left in the wake of so few people.

    • @maneckineckbeard1749
      @maneckineckbeard1749 Před 2 lety

      Agreed 100%!
I just saw a social scientist talking about a study which found that each murder massively affects the lives of *at least* SIX surviving people...at least! And that many of them don't ever recover from the trauma. I love any videos that don't lose sight of the unspeakable tragedy brought about by the losses of Charles, Joseph, Tammy and the poor kids JJ and Tylee, because they do all too often get lost in the madness and drama of this whole crazy case.
May their memories be a blessing to all who loved them.
And may Lori and Chad see justice in this life.

I just don't understand how SO many people that are connected familially or romantically can die or go missing in such a relatively short period of time and it takes as long as it did for law enforcement to go "huh that's kind of an odd coincidence!" It's kind of disappointing.

Problem is that police are usually overworked (and underpaid) and tend to only see what's right in front of them, don't have access to all the relevant information plus this case is complicated by the murders being committed in different jurisdictions.
