Thanks a million, Scott! My model / installer attempted to remedy the problem by using a connector block in a junction box under the sink. The black hot wire was completely fried and melted. Even though the connector was a screw-down type. I cleaned it up, removed the char and corrosion, stripped new wire, and all is good. For now. I wouldn't have reused the junction block, but with the COVID confinement, I didn't want to make a trip to the hardware store. And I didn't want to trust twist connectors. By the way, I "Applauded" ($$$) you, in thanks for the money you saved me. I hope others do as well!

Thank you. Bosch dishwasher stopped with full water and no power. It burned the neutral wire in the factory blade connector box from Bosch. Home Depot. New box, cut wires, New wire nuts and 3M electric tape. Works perfectly. Didn't want anyone in my home for repair with C.V. spreading everwhere. Thank you for your service.

Make that one more Bosch with this issue. Wouldn't power on, checked this first and was exactly as described. Did some new splices and now it's working! Thanks!

Watched your video. Checked the junction box and found burnt wires. Cut and spliced them and now it works correctly. Thank you for the help. My wife is super happy now and you saved me at least $500 because she wanted to buy a new dishwasher. Our Bosch is at least 10 years old and it still washes great. Thanks again.

Thanks for the video, the same thing happened on my machine! I appreciate the reminder that sometimes things just need a simple fix. I might have gotten a new machine having not checked this junction box.

Your supply line appears to be too light for the dishwasher. If the wire nuts are melted, it is not from a spark but from too much resistance through the connection. Change to 12-2 wire and eliminate the issue.

Indeed the issue with my Bosch Dishwasher as well. It appears the wire nut melted and then arced to the metal housing and put a hole in it! I Corrected it and it works great again.
Any idea as to what is causing it on so many models and is it likely to happen again? It's awfully concerning.
    Thanks for the help!

      Good question,
I would put the model number in a Google search under the word Fire to see if there’s anything written about it.

    • @QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance

Maybe check under the word recall also along with your model number

@@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance Good advice. I did just that discovered Bosch did a large recall on this, however, my specific model was not listed as affected even though it was about the same age. Their fix was to send out a technician to replace the power cord and it didn't seem to have anything to do with the dishwasher specifically.

Hi! I have the exact model on this video. THe exact thing happened to me with the burnt wires. I did the exact thing you did and I still get no power. DO you have any suggestion as to what it could be. Yes I check my wires coming in and I have electricity coming in. Thanks

      Nice job,
I think I would redo the connections again.
If it still doesn’t work it could be a bad power switch.
