As a Turkish person, I think that everybody should be free to believe in any religion. But it doesn't matter which religion you believe in daily, you just have to be a "student" in school because you are there to learn positive sciences. Therefore, any religious symbols (including the most and the least believed religions) should not be present in the classroom. Also, to stop all the bickering in schools you wear uniforms. Every person has to wear what the school provides. This also works for families like one child who comes from a poor family and the one who comes from a rich family. This prevents kids from making fun of each other over the clothes they wear and from being discriminated against because of the clothes they wear.

How are they even going to ensure that these policies are implemented? What is the definition of an abaya? A loose fitting dress? Does this mean that long sleeve maxi dresses are also ban?

The abaya is not the same as the hijab or the burqa, so most of what you described does not refer to the abaya. Traditionally, it is worn by women and men regardless of religion and is just a protection against the harsh sun of their original countries. I do agree, though, that women should have a choice of what to wear, and all the violence against gender dress codes violates human rights and has to stop. This also means the French ruling against the abaya is a violation of human rights and is patronising and infantilising women while pretending to free them.

I agree with the lady anchor. Let the girl/woman decide on what she wants to wear. Men are the worst advisors on women's fashion. It actually should be the other way around. Women must advise men on what to wear. When I started asking my wife on what to wear, I turned from a nerdy dresser to someone who gets compliments on my fashion every day. Long-live women's freedom to choose.

I agree a lot with this ban. I can't go with a lingerie streep outfit to school or work just because I feel like that. You must dress according to where you go and are. It's called moral rules. Do what you want inside your house or outside and elsewhere at your friend's house.

The news agency has its own agenda to promote but what interests me is people’s comments that you “should totally abide by the country rules if you live there” even if it’s against your religion, habit, culture... as if western employees and families abide by Saudi (or any other gulf country) rules while working/living there as expat..
Western countries invite immigrants while promoting freedom of religions and humans right but when put to the test, they start making excuses

I had the misfortune to spend part of my youth in an area controlled by an extremist right-wing Christian group. They obsessed about women's clothing too - no pants, all skin covered, on and on. In France, it seems that the authorities are demanding that we be able to see young women's skin. There's no one set of rules for controlling people; the control is the only point.
