This car is listed as £15k on electrifying, £17k on the Late Break Show and £20k on Autotrader. It's the same car, filmed on the same day in the same press event. What's going on?
Whatever the correct price, it's twice as much as it's worth! I can buy a brand new MG4 for less!

This is as low as $13,000 (12,000 Euro) after incentives and then the Dealer adds is thousands.
Autotrader knows how much they’ll take the **** when it launches in the uk. Given what other EVs go do it should be no more than 16-17k and certainly under 10k after a year.
It's a modified Chinese built Dongfeng. Bet it's half the price,in China.
£20k car, but they show you the top spec car which isn't 20k. In 3 years will be worth less than 10k

Good concice review👍. Think Dacia are onto a winner here. For those who do mostly short urban journeys, can charge at home and looking for a new car which is environmentally friendly that seats up to 4 with luggage, is there really anything else? A good school run, shopping, commuting car. Small and lightweight is the way to go if we truly want to limit the harm to the environment.😊
the first video I watched of this car today the thumbnail says 15k, the second one 17k, and this one 20k. in the first day of launch, it's already gone up 33%. lol
I pre-ordered the top model on March 12 for 17k. I don't think the price has gone up yet?

Wagons are the best allround car design ever. Period.
They do all the stuff associated with SUVs except they actually deliver. Just imagine the Urus was designed on a Panamera basis... they could've actually made it look like a 4-seater real Lamborghini 🥲 both a coupé and a Sports Turismo version

Because at least in America it costs less to produce an EV because of some old tax law about trucks so the manufacturers convinced people they need SUV because they're safer. That's until you get hit by one
People are getting fatter and less agile so high up cars caters for their inability to squat.

Seeing that this is a $5,000 Chinese car that is rebadged.... I can't get too excited about the price. I would rather have a VW e-Up as the build quality is far better.

If you ask me, they could take the screen off and make it even cheaper - nobody's ever gonna use the car's own infotainment, just put Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and directly use the phone as the screen.
They do on the lower trims its just a smartphone holder
At last, some clear thinking when it comes to an evidence-based approach to EVs. Electrification of transport being a way of mitigating the effects of climate change by transitioning away from fossil fuels. This car is small, light and highly efficient. No frills basic affordable transport for the ordinary person. It and cars with a similar design philosophy might actually make a difference. Well done Dacia/Renault and thank you Alex for yet another excellent review.

Does it though, do they really? Our car does 55 combined, doesn't need a battery, produces 99 grams per km and cost 12k new. It doesn't require any new infrastructure or plugging in and the tyres start at fifty quid. It'd be interesting to find out which has the biggest impact, because every we make or do does oh and an that includesair con and a touch screen..
Finally I can recharge my Citroën Ami with this car
So a city car EV that has a tiny range that will need recharging for nearly an hour every 100 miles or so in citys where 90%+ of the inhabitants will not be able to charge at home. Yeh, great car.......said no one.
Looks better than the previous Spring. The Configurator shows better specs and the essential is meant only for companies as work cars. I am interested, as it may save my monthly gas expenditure in the long run. But alas the monthly lease pay is still high. like two times higher than when I bought my Škoda Fabia 2017.
Also, be mindful. Doors are empty shells on this version as well. Basically minimal insulation from the noise and also from the external temperatures. Also, it has no seat warmer extras to add on. So an extra layer of pants in the winter is mandatory.
Very important that the horsepower is quite low to eat away at insurance cost. Over 100 miles in winter will be enough in 9/10 scenarios, like commuting two 40 mile round trips between charging with spare miles for a trip to the shops.
This may be a future classic once a 9 year old used one is £6,000 and the tuners get to the drive train lol

There’s a 3yr old BMW i3 with less than 4K miles on Auotrader for less than £20k. I know what I’d spend my money on
definitely not on a bloody outdated and inefficient i3 with no or almost no warranty left. also who wants to associate with this brand most driven by bellends.

Great concept for a real car for millions of people, and for all those feel-gooders it has a green tick. Why else would you want a faster, more top speed, heavier car? The price isnt right though. NCAP, take off the lost points for "driver aids" ie those things that the driver should be doing anyway and the car is about as safe as any car from a few years ago. In town it is perfectly safe. Interesting review.

In South Africa the petrol version of the Kwid costs only £9000. Don't understand why the EV is more than double the price

The kwid is a car and a possible coffin in one thing (1 star Indian ncap) This one meet the required minimum Eu safety law which is far ahead.
If this comes out at 20K it will be like some printers where it is cheaper to buy a whole new printer than buy a replacement ink cartridge, a replacement battery for this car will be worth what the car was new.
You can buy a replacement battery for the nissan leaf, almost the same as in the spring, for 3.500€. It's not like in a Tesla, where it is an integral part of the car.

@@nedyahyakcam The difference is the way the battery ist built into the car. In the tesla it's a structual part of the chasis, and that's why I can't be changed that easy. While in the Nissan Leaf and the Dacia Spring the batterys are just that, a battery and not a structual part and because of that can be changed way easier.

This seems a bit sudden. They just dropped a new one on us as soon as it was confirmed to come to the UK.
Currently I'm looking at the upcoming i10 1.2 with 80 odd bhp, probably 50+ mpg, air con and a touch screen for £16.5k (including a 7 year warranty). I know what I'll go for.
I went into a petrol station and asked the guy for a set of windscreen wipers for a dacia thingy and he said that was a fair swap.....

"45 BHP is not much more than a scooter". Oh yes it is, it's an awful lot more than a scooter. And the car weighs less than a tonne. Dacia know what they're doing here.
My 1988 Fiat Panda had 45bhp too. It cost £4.5 K (approx.) and took me to the north of Scotland from the Midlands and back ,no problems, twice. As well as being a commuter car. BEV enthusiasts know what they're doing here (cue video of 15 minute cities)

Short range, inexpensive, light, small proportions (relatively)...this seems like a great car for a city dweller. If only these kinds of cars were available in the USA, New York and California would be all over the place.
I like the orange colour, otherwise it looks as rubbish as most EVs. I see some dealers are now refusing EVs in PX

wow, 3 different reviewers 3 different pricing. i've watched 3 different reviewers, stating pricing starting from £15k, £17k and now £20k looks like we have to wait for actual pricing. I was interested with the first review, waned a bit with the second and now I'm just put off
Maybe because there are 3 different levels of equipment for this car so that's why they are 3 different prices.

Why would anyone buy this when a year old Vauxhall Mokka top spec EV with 5k on the clock is going for 15-17k on autotrader and there are loads of them

It's a very small city vehicle. It has its pros, but not for 15-20k €, because it's very limited. So I can't absolutely call it cheap or budget. For example Dacia Sandero is a real all around car, it's better in any configuration you buy compared to this one. Yes, it's ICE, but it's probably triple value for money and you can buy it VERY CHEAP indeed. I really don't understand pricing for this vehicle. And this "new" one is only old one model with restyling, there is NO NEW ANYTHING. Same body, same battery, same add options.
Wow no ac terrible range and so many negetives ill stick with my 2002 vw jetta tdi will outlast that.

They claim 140 miles, but when the top speed is 78mph, on the motorway I'd expect the range to be under 100 miles

i dont know if its possible but cheap car I'd rather have acceleration over top speed. 140km/h is enough top speed, but if acceleration takes decades to reach that speed then why not just buy other product

It's way overpriced. In India, tata punch at 13000 pound puts out 120 bhp and has a 35 kw lithium phosphate battery. This car will come to India under Renault brand. If they priced this car like Europe. That's gonna be a flop show.
