    Boss Pedals can produce very usable tones with proper gain staging, output setup and EQ. Using Unity gain, EQ to cut hi and low with a boost at 600-800khz and cutting 3.4khz with high q will do it post amp & IR. Output selection is also a key to right kind of output signal

      Spot on. I got one ..took me a while in the gain staging or low gain understanding .. also the gain switches ... I'm now seeing the true potential ...

    Sometimes people think they will get a full "real" amp sound just getting the first shot with a multieffects pedal, but the good think is that you use your knowledge and time to get this thing sound like a real amp.
    Both boss and line 6 are terrific and with time you can get some realistics sounds, because these divices have a great power.
    I love both line 6 and boss. This unit Gx100 is my favorite.

      yeah I still love my real amps but the benefits of not having to haul them around are very real.

    Did you just run in straight into the front of your amp? I have an amp that does not have a send/return.

    Can't tell if the modeler is good but your guitar strings sound great...

    Sounds great. Are you liking the “feel” of the tones? I currently have helix native but to be honest I’m not a big fan of line 6 modelling. I’m looking to buy a modeller for Christmas and I’m torn between the HX stomp and Boss GX-100. Its important to note i currently have NO AMPS/pedals. Just macbook and audio interface with plugins. I’m thinking the GX-100 is more of an all in one solution than the hx stomp which is better integrated into an already existing pedalboard (which i don’t have) but the modelling quality and tones are a concern for purchase. Don’t know what to get. Would you recommend buying the gx-100 over the hx stomp?

      I originally set out to purchase the line 6 pod Go (or one like that) and really did not like the tone or feel of the unit. I was disappointed, and the guy at the store had an open box Boss gx unit. It was a night and day difference between those two. I am a long time user of the Boss gt 10 from back in the day so this felt like coming home. I have now been using it in a live setting and it really sounds better than expected with other instruments. As far as feel, again for me, I love my big tube amps, so this unit doesn’t deliver the sag that I like in my riffing. But for a solid state unit I think they come closer than before, and it smoked the line 6. Also the tones changed far faster on this than the pod go. Can’t speak about the hx stomp but for my money I’m sticking with boss. Feels like real gear and the pod felt like a toy. Hope that helps you out, please subscribe and share. Peace!

      Hoping to get more GX-100 videos but with direct recording this time so we can hear the tones better. Wondering if you could do a fuzz tone video? Currently there’s no videos on CZcams talking about the distortions and fuzzes on this unit but forums like TheGearPage have requests from users everyday regarding drives, distortions and fuzzes. So many people wanna know about how the fuzzes/distortions sound on GX-100. In my opinion these are really lacking in Helix

      Cool, our guitarist has it for a few weeks, once I get it back I'll pull up some fuzz tones and see what's up.

      Get a quad cortex, I’m surprised you are not liking the helix, I really don’t think the gx100 is as good as fractal,Kemper, helix or quad cortex my own opinion

    Being a Boss man, I love the GX-100. But what interests me more is the nice Ibanez guitar you're playing. What model would that be?

    • @dangervilleproductions
      @dangervilleproductions  Před rokem

      That is one of two of my original Ibanez talmans that were produced in the 90s. At the time they were pretty cheap, but are kinda hard to find now. They were popular with grunge rock players like the offspring and stabbing westward. I love them both, great necks. The gold one I swapped out the pickups for some Gibson pafs. The other one I have is an all single coil. I always tell people the best strat I own is an Ibanez.

    How is the wah effect on the pedal? Does it sound good?

    • @dangervilleproductions

      I have not used it a ton to be honest, my guitarist has the unit right now, I'll ask him his thoughts. What is weird is the expression pedal does not have an on/off button you click down. Sorry I don't have a better answer right now.
