  • In this video, I take a blank patch on the Boss GX-100 and show how simple it is to create a high-gain guitar tone.
Ever since I received the Boss GX-100 Ive been utterly blown away by the great tones and the simple yet fully featured Boss GX-100.
Here is what Boss says about the BOSS GX-100
Fusing advanced BOSS tone technologies into a sleek, ultra-modern hardware design, the inspiring GX-100 delivers top-level performance everywhere you play. Explore 23 AIRD amplifiers and over 150 effects derived from the flagship GT-1000, and craft great sounds in seconds with the intuitive color touch display. Up to 15 simultaneous effect blocks provide unlimited tone possibilities, coupled with deep real-time command via onboard footswitches, an expression pedal, and external control support.
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.

Love your videos for the Katana, and I used some of your settings on the WAZA Air that worked using Katana settings. I’ve had a Pod Go for about a year, but ready to go back to Boss. Love the multiple guitar input setups as my go-to guitar is a Carvin DC150 and just got a Kiesel with Lithium pickups that are very hot. Do you know if Boss came up with any easy way to copy sounds between their products vs. recreating everything manually?

Hey Paul, all of your tutorial videos are exceptional, but I have a question. I'm using my GX-100 direct through the PA at my church for Praise & Worship except it just sounds bad! We've tried "gain staging" but it still sounds bad. Someone suggested I may need to turn off the amp simulation in the unit. Is that a viable option and is it possible? @isaacisback8786 Před rokem

    Hello,
Thanks for that : very instructive but, if I may, just two little questions :
Is it possible to mix bass amps and effects with guitar amps and effects, whether it be on a single chain or a divided one ? Like, if I want to use a bass comp and distortion but with a guitar amp, or use a divider block to run parallel a bass amp and a guitar amp with matching speakers on both, is it doable ?
Then, in case of divided chain, can I get each one on a different out so that I can record each on a different track simultaneously on my daw (and, then, getting the clean path on one track and the distorted one on another, for example) ?
    Thank you.
