They build that plane 50 miles from my house. Sandpoint Idaho.
"Bobby ground" has me in stitches!
Haven't watched yet (tonight), but just had to say I was hoping they'd send you a preview - awesome!
BEST soundset of any a/c in my hangar by far....and to me, the sounds are SUPER important. That turrrrbine! schwing. Just awesome. thx for all you do.
You should check your starting procedure. The cut off valve should already be open before engine start and you should introduce the fuel by moving the fuel condition lever forward to low idle after 14% NG is reached. Also, the rudder trim should be set to the RIGHT, not to the left, for take off. And there is a rudder trim indicator on the Garmin. It's the bottom one left of the moving map. 😉
Too many aircraft to remember, welcome to my world. I’m going to faf up procedures on aircraft I don’t use often. As for the rudder trim it neutralised all torque on takeoff so I guess magic worked as it should have been worse by your logic, I was told to give it left
Trim
@@AvAngel I know what you mean ... it's like learning it all over again, when I haven flown one in a while. I'm surprised that I managed with the PMDG 737 by memory when it finally came out, after not having flown it since transitioning from P3D to MSFS on day one.
Now try that with a new aircraft every week.
@@AvAngel i make cards for every aircraft, if they differ form standard procedure. works well.
The standby instrument performance improvement is down to SU10, not the updated Kodiak. Nice video! Looking forward to getting this plane in the air!
I’ll take any solution tbf,
its the nanovg being enabled by default
You got me excited about this one/ Thanks
A Spot on Video going to have to break my piggy bank for this one.
The amphibians are fun fly and keep you on your game...
Thanks for another great review, amazing how we have all become critics!
wow great, a must buy...
Thanks for the preview always enjoying your content. Hopefully you also going to review the new An'ts Airplanes Tiger Moth, one of my favo aircrafts.
Already filmed it 😀
@@AvAngel yeaaah amazing news looking forward!
Think the last update for this plane sorted the backup instrument view jitter. Really enjoy this plane, started the sim flying the 208 and jumped straight into this as soon as it launched, been my goto plane for a good while now. When I am not getting distracted and blowing the engine out of it🤣
Yeah, they enabled the NanoVG XML Gauge rendering by default in SU10, which yields a huge performance increase with certain custom instruments. The PMDG DC-6 gains a good 15-20 fps with it enabled. Same with the custom EFIS in the Iris Jabiru. It used to be developer mode only feature but now you can find it in the "General Options" in the "Experimental" section.
@@Jigsaw407 yeah, was waiting for that option for a while, had to run dev mode previous. Which was ok but didn’t log my flight hours and disabled some plane management functions. Su10 has been good for me so far especially the new g1000 traffic radar and tags switch option.
@@Jigsaw407 oh that’s why my DC6 has good FPS now..
@@845SiM what does dev mod disable? Because I use it a lot.
I like Simworks Studios they make good planes and not expensive.
Looks like I'm going to be late for work today! 🙂
I was hoping we'd get to fly this bad boy this weekend, but alas. Here's hoping that next weekend pans out
It will be interesting to see the price of this one. I understand this will be a standalone product, so in that way it's worth the same as the regular Kodiak I guess. But as an owner of the kodiak I would have preferred this as an optional upgrade (like the CRJ900/1000) or what Milviz/Blackbird will do with the PC-6, which is increase the price of the package after the float version is out. The Kodiak is one of my absolute favourites in msfs, but I don't think I'll buy this at the same price as the Kodiak I already own.
I state the price in the video as both addon and stand-alone at €15
@@AvAngel lol I swear I watched the hole thing and still missed that 😂 Right at the start of the video too.. 🙈 €15 is very fair and an absolute steal for those who only want the amphibian. I’ll for sure get it at that price 👍
@@thesn00tyfox Yea, certainly in it’s class. Personally the cessna 310, spitfire mk ix and the pmdg 737 are up there with it for me.
It's a cool cockpit
Wish it wasn't glass cockpit and was steam gages instead.
UR-ANGL 💙💛
Thank you for presenting this video ! My question to you, do the existing Paints also work on the Amphibian ? Or was the plane completely rebuilt ?
Not sure about the amphibian, it includes floats and those wouldnt be in wheeled version paints, so i doubt it, but i expect they will be adapted or rereleased... wheeled v2? yes.
€15?! That can’t be, surely, regular wheeled version at about £30 atm
It is technically less work and less versions
The Floatiak (or is it Flodiak?). Hehehe...
I would really love the wheel version on Xbox but it causes lots of CTDs, especially with the new G1000 NXi. I wish the developers attempted to fix it before releasing this, which probably will end up the same. Still, beautiful aircraft and the float version seems to behave quite well on water. Some of the float planes you can't even steer.
Most ctds gone with su10, Xbox issues I can’t speak for
@@AvAngel Yeah, sadly I haven't read great things about the Kodiak on Xbox since SU10 either. I'm currently waiting with it.
Well its a good job its about to be updated (wheeled) when this variant releases also ;) (I mention the wheeled version 2.0 in the video coming as an update)
You may want to reinstall. I fly on the series X and I use the Kodiak 100 wheel version nearly every day and I've never had a problem with it! All of that got fixed with the last update. After you reinstall it, If Fitzgerald gives you trouble, reach down and pull fuse number 3 on the bottom row. That helps a ton! But I use this plane daily, problem free, on the series X.
@@gabor-toth I fly the Kodiak 100 daily and it worked perfectly before SU10 and it works perfectly after SU10. I've never had one issue on my xbox series X with the Kodiak and it performs beautifully!
Any way to enable the AI Piloting?
Is there a caravan amphibious in msfs 2020?
Not yet
How did you get the cabins to show up? Is that payware?
Stock scenery :D
@@AvAngel Hmm. My huts are underwater.
Odd, just there for me at nttb
Cabins???? Do you mean the huts?
Anyone else see the overwater huts as underwater? I know there's a payware that fixes this.
Yes...thats the infamous altitude problems that plagues msfs.
I have nothing 'addon' in the area, all mine were over water *shrug*
Shame it's separate to the none amphibian
Yeah but cheap af
@@AvAngel Yep it is. I bought the other Kodiak this week. Loving the aircraft. It's now my second best plane in the game, my first is the TBM 930
The water physics are so incredibly poor in the sim… what a shame
That will be addressed shortly. We're only 2 years into an 8 year project. I think what they've accomplished in 2 years is nothing shy of a miracle!
@@Foxtrot_EW They have talked about fixing the water physics? I must have missed that. They have done a pretty good job with the sim, I must say.
@@CCitis 👍🏼
SU11 information has mentioned water improvements
@@AvAngel Awesome!
Never liked this plane. Too twitchy and annoying to hand fly. The generic G1000 doesn't help either.
Wouldn’t call it twitchy or generic
I agree
I haven't found it twitchy myself, but that said - the next update coming out at the same time this releases will have adjusted control sensitivity that should help people that are. If you're saying its twitchy at takeoff, you need to make sure you have your trim properly set and the CG in range.
The "generic" G1000 is now the NXi - though right now for 3rd party AC you'll still need a package from the Marketplace, until the 3rd party devs update their planes to use the new default NXi - which the next Kodiak update will be doing.
Oh my, this is one of the best aircraft the SIM has ever seen! Give it another chance...
@@Foxtrot_EW I took it from Ushaia in the far south of Argentina all the way up to New York in a few weeks time so I know what I'm talking about. I just don't enjoy fighting the plane like crazy every time I take off, I much prefer the docile nature of the 414. Maybe the Kodiak is great if you have one of those yokes with realistic pitch range but I can't even buy that in my country.
