    You missed an obvious clickbait!
    "You Wont Believe The Speed After Engine Swap"
    Cool project.
    I guess this one goes to the category "F**k around, Find out"

    I ran across your video looking for exhaust ideas for the EXACT same bike and engine build I completed today. I connected a few things differently. Most notably I didn't use the plate from the torque converter. I attached the driven pully directly to the transmission input shaft. (Had to turn it down, cut a keyway, and cut a custom belt.) I also only ran a single piece of flat bar across the bottom to make the rear motor mount. It's like these bikes were almost made to accept the predator engine and if the 30 series torque converter had used the same size shaft for the driven as the drive pully, it wouldn't even have required turning down the transmission input shaft. Cool video and build!

      Ride it yet? How did it go?

      Yup I'm sitting on it as I type this reply! It's surprisingly peppy. Has plenty enough torque to spin both tires with 200lbs of me on it, and topped out at 31 mph.
      I tried to use the rubber motor mounts that were on the original two-stroke engine and had it worked out but the bolt was too short to go through the mounting plate on the bottom of the predator. It definitely needs them. I'm going to see if I can order another set with a slightly longer bolt.

      @@BillBHi, do you have a youtube channle? I just picked up a Ptb 325 and wanting to do this mod. I have a 212 now. And i do weld. So im in the game.😮

    • @BillB
      @BillB Před 11 měsíci +1

      No I don't have a channel, not anything current anyway. I do however have another polaris trail boss (not much difference to the blazer) that I'm about to do this same mod to and have considered taking some video of that build. Anything in particular you interested in?

    One of the best lines in any movie, Sam Rockwell "look around you on the ground, is there anything you can use to make a primitive lathe?" Galaxy quest, classic.

    I got a 212 in a 93 chain drive 4wd Polaris it goes 4mph banging limiter in low and about 16mph in high. I welded a big pollution pump pulley on the trans and used a belt clutch off a rototiller on the engine and a power steering belt off a Ford. Works well kinda slow

    "I got my work sandals on"

    • @bondvagabond42
      @bondvagabond42 Před 3 měsíci

      So, I used to be Mr safety, but I lived in texas for a few years, and it's so dang hot all the time, and you watch enough CZcams vids of those dudes in less developed countries welding all the time in flip flops, so I decided to give it a try. Just hunkered right down in the yard and wouldn't you know it, it worked great. But I thought I knew better than those dudes, I'm like, I can keep the flip flops, but weld on stuff in my nice vice that's up at workbench hight. What I learned is that welding sandals are part of a whole extreme low budget welding system, you can't just pick and choose which parts you use and expect the same results as those dudes. If you weld at bench hight, the sparks can fall a lot farther away from the work piece, burned the heck out of my foot. Not sure if your work sandles have a similar osha rule attached to them, but figured I'd pass on my own experiments, in case it helped another sandal wearing iron monger.
      Great vid, I'm doing something similar with a parts quad that came free with my "nice" $100 quad project, hah. Figure I can nerf it to whatever top speed my nephews parents are comfy with.

    I think you need a way bigger sprocket in the rear. I had the same problem when I converted my 3-wheeler adult tricycle into gas bike with a predator. I had to switch out the 44 tooth to a 60 tooth, and then it went 48 mph. (Way too fast for a 3 wheel bicycle with old school caliper brakes!)

    Most machine shops will use a tool post grinder to machine that shaft

  • @davekimbler2308

    i was all set to set you up then you got rid of it ! first off the gear ratio is way off ,your at like 14:1 when you should be at 4:1 with that CVT clutch . I have one and it rips at around 40 MPH and i weigh 250 ! granted you had $125 motor ,$15 for throttle ,$100 for tires and rims some welding and steel and a $80 gear plus oil = $300 into it ! I would have changed the exhaust and a 45 tooth sprocket which would give you 5:1 ,delete the governor . That CVT works best at over 2500 RPM . By the way how you make out on it ?

    • @BrandonsGarage
      @BrandonsGarage  Před rokem +1

      It's pretty funny how exact you are on the prices. I almost doubled the investment.
      I thought about gearing, as I had the torque, just not the speed; but I didn't know if I wanted to sink more money into it, or if I could even find the room for a larger gear.
      What is your setup? A gokart?

  • @phoenixarizona8441
    @phoenixarizona8441 Před rokem +1

    Polaris snowmobile or SXS secondary clutch with fit the shaft same thing that's on it use a predator with a torque converter you'll be golden
