God bless the UK for reminding us that history and traditions keep the continuum going in all its glory.
So right you are!!!!!
We need to remember where we come from and support the proliferation of historic importance. Shout out from Dallas, Texas
Oh those horses! They get so excited and show off so well - simply gorgeous! Soldier's looking good to ❤
End the shallow pomp of
the royal circus.
why fail to post my accurate and acceptable
comment.
Don't like to hear the truth.

The traditions they have are stunning, beautiful, so glad that, they keep and maintain these stunning colors, stunningly beautiful. Traditions.
This is what I love about Britain. Pageantry and tradition. 🇦🇺
The bits need to be brought into this century. They are hurting the horses mouths hence the continuous head tossing.
Couldn’t agree more. The UK sucessfully preverved their tradition and pageantry 💪🇬🇧🟥👑🦁💂🐴🛳🎡🍵👊 throughout centuries unlike the Frenchies who most likely gave up 🇨🇵🏳😆
Me two!
Ohhh, me too. There's nothing like it anywhere else.
@@maureenmiller3029 Long live Great Britain 💪🇬🇧🟥👑🦁💂🐴🛳🎡🍵👊
Absolutely gorgeous horses.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Love from London UK ❤
Beautiful ❣ I wish there was a voice over to tell what's going on.
Love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
They are so inspiring and beautiful. Xoxo ❤❤🎉😮
Its such a Beautiful Scene with all the Horses , Officers and Troopers USA
Beautiful Horses. I love the sound of their hoofs clip clop clip clop absolutely wonderful 🩷✨️💕🎉❤🙏💖
When I see this it makes me proud to be British 🇬🇧🇬🇧 Thank you for your service.
This is absolutely amazing , beautiful, and just beautiful culture ..
What a spectacle! Just magnificent-uniforms, soldiers & horses.
Beautiful horses, as always. The soldiers are regal. Thank you for posting. It's absolutely stunning. From the US.
What an amazing tradition. Something given to us by the UK 🇬🇧 Equally something to be extremely proud of. As a South African living in Switzerland 🇨🇭 I really do appreciate all these events.
Absolutely magnifiicent.
utterly beautiful im soo proud to be English
Good morning from Upper-Austria! Great video, beautyful horses and beautiful unifprms! Have a nice sunday! Could not really find out, what the "Royal Tradition" was!? Maybe the Leopard-Fur/skin?
Beautiful job. Love the Royal pageantry ❤.
Wonderful to see our traditions, values, faith, freedom, beautiful horses and our soldiers in all their uniform.the whole event was beautiful.Thank you to everyone and the beautiful horses.🕊️✝️🇬🇧🐎🐎🐎🐎
Well that sent me searching...'The 21st Hussars had a unique leopard-skin, which included the entire pelt including legs and head (above the crupper). This style of leopard-skin was adopted by several regiments after the shabraque was abolished' lol found it under Hussars horse funiture
Thank you. I found myself wishing I was watching this with someone who could explain all the different regalia.
Thank you for taking the time to discove the facts. I was quite shocked but we Brits did perform some pretty barbaric practices during periods in history. Most fascinating. Am glad it is now illegal to use the skins!
The Light Brigade of Hussars commanding from Lord Cardigan was a disaster back in The Crimean War 1853-1856 (Queen Victoria Era)
According to the reports back then, there had been lack of communication and the Cavalry was wiped out by the Russians
Not to mention, in general, the British troop was much effective. At least, they won the Battle of Balaclava
with the aid of the French and Turcs
🇬🇧🇨🇵🇹🇷⚔️🇷🇺
Very interesting 🤨. ❤
'Half a league, half a league, Half a league onward, All in the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. "Forward, the Light Brigade! Charge for the guns'
Alfred, Lord Tennyson
They charged into the guns instead of behind, but didn't break rank, very few of the six hundred returned.
oh its gorgeous i love tradition please never let it die
Amazing that the Household Cavelry are all active duty British Army soldiers!
As are the foot guards. They all have an active and a ceremonial role.
As are the Guards bandsmen and the bandsmen of the Household Cavalry. In times of war the bandsmen act as stretcher bearers for the injured..getting them to safety often under heavy fire. They all do 12 weeks combat drill...well my daughter did...lovely pics of her doing assault course disciplines...plus stretcher practice...now she is Director of Music at a Music school in Europe...
Wonderful sight ♥️
I used to live and work nights in central London and would see them riding out in the early hours … was something quite magical about it xxx
That's awesome, how cool that must have been... before tourons decend is great time to enjoy London..miss it❤
Yes they're magnificent ❤
No one does pageantry better than Britain. Lord love them. And save them from London’s Mayor!
@paulainsc8212 you maybe interested in ut Pakistani Parade, that is extremely well done and certainly different.
I love royal tradition fantastic ❤ thanks for sharing ❤️👏👏
Stunning! What is the tradition of the officer riding with the leopard saddle? Such pageantry. 🇺🇸❤️🇬🇧
Fantastic sight. I dabble with playing a few musical instruments and also I used to ride horses. I can’t imagine playing a horn or the other instruments while riding a horse. that’s some amazing skill.
It certainly is
The horses are majestic!
Good to see Police Officers on duty.
If you have a problem whatever it is.
So unique 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yes, wish there were some comments, commentator to explain all of the differences in headwear as well as saddle, blanket and uniform. Stunning. Was suprised at how many there are. God Bless the King & Commonweath. (Cdn).
A beautiful constant and partner of the British military..timeless ❤
I would love to see this in person. Another great video. Thank you for sharing.
🌿♥️♥️♥️🌿
Although it would take a lot of work, it would be interesting if you could do a video on what the different uniforms mean for all the folks that are not lucky enough to live in the UK and know these things. Thanks so much for sharing this video.
I asked in a previous screening of the video following the General Inspection, what the story was behind thenleopardskin saddlecloth. I presumed it to have had a significance to a battle or skirmish involving the particular regiment. (I had assumed Royal Horse Artillery.) Thank you for referring to the Hussars.
🥕🐎Beautiful🥕🐎🇬🇧🌹🇬🇧🌹🇬🇧🌹
Love pomp and ceremony and proud to be british ❤❤
Absolutely Fabulous! But why would anyone in this day and age be using a fur skin …, head and all …, as a saddle blanket? 🤷♀️
I also can't imagine what the horses think seeing a predator amongst them on the back of a horse. I'm just also hoping it's fake and not an actual dead animal.
Of course it is not fake😂
If you look closely at it, the leopard skin is clearly very old and worn. I don't think they go about murdering leopards in order to harvest saddle-cloths any more. :)
@@betrisherninox2865They still use genuine bearskin for their hats sadly
Tradition, tradition and tradition. Bless our military.
That leopard was killed in 1874 when it attacked Queen Victoria while she was in Africa, her guard killed it and she awarded him the skin.
How interesting.
@@ireneyoung8696 I had to really search to find this out. Too bad it is not common knowledge as it is an extremely rare sighting.
nice story but she never went to Africa
@norellemaher2956 Yes she did-they called her the African Queen when she sailed up the Nile.
Really?? Wonder what year that was, since it's not noted in any history I can find.
I hope in an other life it was a stuffed animal 😱
You are all getting worked up over ONE saddle pad but when the rich go hunting and shoot every animal in Africa, just to get a trophy, I guess that is ok with you?
Magnificent 🎉
Yes as Brits we love our history and traditions.. our history to uphold.. and not weaken.. we are patriots for our country ❤
Beautiful 🫶🏻
👍🇬🇧🤝🙏
Beautiful, beautiful scene of gorgeous horses. Just lined up. They're a little too close to each other . They look like they're about to bite each other's butts. This is a beautiful scene.
Not all traditions are good. Example harming animals through sports, ect, is not good traditions. Enslaving animals and humans to gain power is not a good tradition.
We must keep all our traditions in UK
I wish I lived in London, I love the traditions and would love to find a book to read about it, from Missouri/USA
👏👏👏👏👏👏
💚
My goodness.
This is our great country those soldiers are amazing and need respect . These are the same soldiers that stand for hours to attention in London and t h ey get abuse from the ignorant public 😢❤😡
Красота какая!
Don't approve of the feline blanket under saddle !
All the king's horses and all the king's men..... Exactly what is the occasion? From Carlsbad, CA USA.
He the only 1 i saw with a leopard skin saddle blanket
Это как коррида в Испании- пережитки прошлого, пора прощаться с прошлым
I assume that's a leopard pelt, but maybe not.
Beautiful horses!! Were they the drum horses leading the parade ?
Yes - that's why they were carrying drums !
@@richardwest6358 Only the drum horses are shires
@@richardwest6358 thank you, I didn't realise they had drums on. 😉
Yes I do as well
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I just hope those leopard (?) ae not real? I now they use bearskins but think it is past time for an alternative.
As far as I'm informed the bar skins are now actually fake ones. They sadly used to be real 😢 hoping these leopards aren't real either
Well, if it is, its likely quite old, as I don't think the army wouldn't countenance using real leopard skin nowadays. As regards the Guards bearskins, they are real bear fur but from Canadian culled bears.
@@kesterbathgate4531 you are right, I looked it up again and they still haven't changed them to fake bearskins 😢 I'm a vegan so you can imagine how I feel. I was sure I read a few years ago that they was going to stop making the new ones out of bears skins. Shame on them
It is probably well over 100 years old by now! The last time full dress uniform was worn routinely buy all Regiments in the British Army was in 1914 immediately before WW1. I doubt the Guards Brigade will use fake bearskin for a long time. The government tried to force them to use fake bearskines a few years ago but the Guards refused as they both don't look Wright and are not cost efficient
I have noticed the officers at the back, wearing historic uniforms different from those of the Household Cavalry Regiment (Life Guards and Blues and Royals) Who are they? Do they represent other cavalry regiments of the British Army? Do any of you know?
I've never seen that before. Are they english their hats and riders look different on the three horses as though they are being escorted
Oh this is the annual Major Generals inspection if the Household Cavalry in Hyde Park..some weeks ago.
All the different hats.
Didn’t realise how many horses and soldiers there were in the Royal Pageant! 3:26. Actually soldier who had the leopard on his horse didn’t look like a British soldier, but somewhere else in Europe, because of his uniform.
I'm English have friends whose in the Royal Household Cavalry and never have I seen a Leopard as a numna underneath a saddle! The only leopard skin I can think of was the one Queen Victoria had, so could be that.
That bloke walking - 2:02 - he was obviously previously mounted. I wonder what happened to his horse? Perhaps it was enjoying a private gallop across Hyde Park.
Hello. Have you heard anything about the horses that were hurt last past days.
Thankfully they are doing well.
This is magnificent but can anyone explain the Leopard covering on the gentleman's saddle I would love to know with love and respect from Scotland
The next to the leopard skin guy leans slightly forward because he is having difficulty settling into his saddle. His tension transfers to his horse which is tense and jigging, causing more discomfort and tension in the rider, and the cycle repeats. Maybe the guy in the fatigues walking is the riding teacher.
Good to see the KRH with cherry picker trousers and a leopard skin……..the cavalry; there to lend tone to what would otherwise just be a vulgar brawl…..
Love the procession, the uniforms and the magnificent horses, but the leopard skins, no, those need to be phased out now.
Why?
Yes, why? I mean the leopard is dead, has been for a long time and its skin might as well be used. Better than to burn it.
It's not that a leopard is killed every year for a shabraque. This particular skin is certainly very old and is being well preserved by the army.
Actually much more sustainable than a lot of clothes you and I wear, I bet.
@@MsJuval All your points are very good, and I don’t disagree with any of them, you are quite right. But, to me its not that the animal skin itself isn’t sustainable, as you quite rightly point out, it’s historic, however todays world is vastly different from the world in which the animal was originally killed. Now, trophy hunting is on an unprecedented scale, more accessible and also marketed worldwide. We live in a world going through a conservation crisis. While you can’t change history, nor should you, it is our responsibility to cultivate a world that doesn’t continue to act in a way that is publicly amenable or acceptive of hunting endangered species. The leopard skin is part of our past, I accept that, but my personal believe is that it’s not right in the world we live in today to continue using them. They don’t have to be destroyed, instead preserved and stored definitely, but better in a museum than on the streets. Of course I respect you may well have a different opinion, and that’s ok.
@millymay0025 One of the other commenter explained that the leopard skin was from a leopard that tried to attack Queen Victoria while she was in Africa. One of her guards killed it and she rewarded him with the skin. Don't know how true this is, but whatever the explanation, things aren't always what they seem.
@@mrsbee8790 I didn’t know that, but I did think their would be a heroic story of courage behind it, given it’s significance for military use. Thank you for sharing. It is a great story, and again it’s important to preserve these story’s and understand the significance, but, I still think the right place for the animal skin and the story is on display in an exhibition or military museum. 🙂
What a ridiculous thing!!!
Why do they have the Leopard skin there? Looks a bit strange? I hope another leopard is not killed! 🙋♀️🇦🇺
Why does he have a leopard 🐆 under his saddle. What’s the meaning ?
Leopards are beautiful animals full of grace and speed ,i hope that is not a real skin as its a sure to be a sin.😮
That's no way to treat a cat
Recently it was said that the armed forces are not strong enough to defend this country, but can afford this. It's said that it brings in tourists so let the Tourist Board pay for it. In other countries thay have a tourist tax, why spend the Denfece budget on it, and use highly trained, and at great expence, soldiers as actors. I'm a former soldier, and have been in units who could not replace worn out clothing and equipment, and when I was posted to BAOR the only cold weather clothing I got was a secondhand brown pullover.
..and didn't you notice that behind one of the horsemen (swordsman) there is a puppy lying at the end of the saddle? It can be seen at 4.16!
No that’s the leopard
Why is there an animal skin with head as a saddle…
Can someone please explain what this beautiful video is all about ...& Whats with the big cat saddle pad???
Nevermind 😊 I see it's been explained nicely 😊thank you..I do need to read comments before I put my 2cents in❤
If that animal is real that is horrible thing to see.
What is the significance of the leopard skin? Just curious.
Who or what was being saluted?
Who was the bloke that was walking? Is this a punishment walk?
Don’t see any explanation as to y they are sitting on dead animals. It is 2026 right
A Cheetah and a Leopard.
So what was the leopard skin meant to represent
Lovely chestnut xx unusual xx
My be it's the horses favourite stuffed toy 😂
It looks so cute, like he is sat on his favourite toy.
I didn't see the cheetah 🐆. But Why? Where did it go?
Please tell me that's a fake cat skin on that cavalry horse. LOL, it looks like someone is squishing the feline! :D Beautiful Pageantry, though.
Your comment is a bit twisted, you show concern for a dead animal then laugh. Split personality there dear.
@@annemerson5339 I asked about the cat to confirm it wasn't a true animal skin. I laughed because said cat looked like someone's stuffed animal that had been de-stuffed and thrown over the saddle. My apologies if that sounded callous. Most of the time, you see either tiger or leopard skins. I'd love to hear the story behind this one.
It would be a waste of a beautiful animal to just through out the pelt.
