    Police horse wasnt having a go. Police horse was controlled, keeping the kings guard horse on track. By cutting the unsettled horse off.

      How come the police can train their horses so we'll and the kings guard can't

    • @k9nick
      @k9nick Před 3 měsíci +3

      @lorettaobrien8599 because police horses are highly trained to perform crowd control, roits etc exposed to all manner of noise etc. They tought to manover objects, items and people.
      Guard horses are not given that kind of training.
      They're trained to march. Given some desensitisation to road noise, cermiminal work.
      Although the horses are geldings, (had their nuts chopped) the ones that are a little frisky, I'd suggest are the younger, newer horses fresh out of training.

    I hate it when your horse decides to have an off day like this... but it happens to even the best of horses. I don't know if there was an insect biting that set him off initially and then playing up because he got separated (separation leads to all sorts of fun behaviour), but an extremely well controlled outburst and the police were there doing their job well.
    I get it. I've literally been in both situations, being able to remain calm and work through these situations is always the best way to avert danger.

    Horse was actually dancing, changing his lead leg as he trotted. The white van was the military luggage van carrying all extra amenities needed by the horses and soldiers. It looked like a short guard with ten troopers and two NCOs. Long Guard also has a Trumpeter and an Officer as well as the colours.

    Horses are not robots. Both riders knew what they were doing. All good. No harm done. We don’t know what the horse saw or sensed that set it off. When something like this happens with folks who are well aware of security it can be an excellent alert. That’s why the police cars and officers are there. Sadly we live in a very dangerous world.

    It's those lever mouth bits that amplify the force on the horses mouth. You could see that several horses were distressed on the approach. Yanking their heads up, but people have seen it so often they think it's normal by now. One of them had enough. Look how short the reigns are when the horse tries to bolt. The horse wants relief and backs off from the situation that causes pain but the reigns get shorter and shorter and the pain on the mouth increases. Those mouth bits with levers should be banned. It's not the first video that I've seen. It keeps happening with the Royal Guards and they cannot figure out why.
