I ended up purchasing Pagan Paths by Pete Jennings, The Wheel of the Wiccan Year by Gail Duff and Natural Magic by Doreen Valiente, and while waiting for the last 2 books to arrive, I've been reading Pagan Paths and have found it so wonderfully set out. The fact that it is broken up into lovely and specific chapters, features a glossary, index and resources that breaks down resources and further reading based on the applicable chapters is amazing! Not only that, but being able to actually flick to the back of the book and use the index to find relevant information I want / need, I'm in bliss.
I've been exploring witchcraft, paganism and wicca for 6 years now and have never truly and properly understood the difference in them all, and felt that I was more drawn to wicca because of the guide lines of it. I now realise that I have been a pagan for years, coming into witchcraft, with an interest of possibly developing into a wiccan. I cannot thank you enough for this recommendation, I'll have to purchase The Modern Pagan once I'm done reading this book. xx

i've one book to add that i read some years ago and loved and that's "the spiral dance: a rebirth of the ancient religion of the goddess" by starhawk. 'red tent' has been on the periphery of my book life for years...will pick it up next time i see it.

I read a book titled Positive Magic by Marion Weinstein. I still feel it was one of the best books i have read about magic. It certainly helped me to understand more fully the beliefs I have held since adolescence. I highly recommend it!

I’m very new to Wicca books and in a way kinda new to Wicca in general, but the first book I ever read was Wicca For Beginners by Dora McGregor. very simple and easy to read and went over a lot of Wiccan basics. It got me excited to learn so many more topics. But I do suggest for starter witches.

Your explanation as to the "umbrella" term is exactly how I explain it. I will be looking out for the Whispers from the Earth and The Modern Pagan and adding them to my TBR. And while I was watching the video I was thinking of a book about a lawyer I once read and then you mentioned "The Book of Shadows" and there it was. That was really interesting. I read it years ago and it stuck with me. Thank you for this video!

I enjoyed your video so much. I just ordered The Red Tent, Witch Amongst Us, and Book of Shadows. Thank you for sharing. My mom worked in a nursing home for years, and she said the staff could always tell when there was a full moon by the way the residents behaved.

Fab video ❤ I now have a big list in my Amazon basket lol. Yes to Moon Magic, so awesome and really helps to connect the moon to our being, and understanding how it connects to our emotions. Natural magic and Pagan paths sounds up my street 👍 Hedgewitch by Rae Beth is a good oldie, it's perhaps the first one I read that really sat with me. Shamanic way of the bee is a brilliant one too. And The Green Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock is perhaps one of my new favourites xx

I totally love Whispers from the Earth too!!! Books by Glennie Kindred such as Earth Wisdom or Letting in the Wild Edges are lovely as an insight in to working with the Wheel of the Year and listening to/working with Mother Earth.. I've put The Red Tent and Wherever you go on my wish list ❤

I am very interested in Moon Magic...I am a school teacher in Australia and I am convinced the full moon affects children’s behaviour ...my colleagues tell me they concur but they have looked into it and no psychological study has found any correlation...I have also heard police officers lament a full moon! Sounds like a good place to go to learn more...thankyou!

Pagan Paths is now part of my wish list. I had never thought as myself as a Pagan, but hearing the way you described it, it seems to be pretty right on the nose. Need to do a bit of research, but thanks for the advice on where to start :)

Great video! Ordered Witch amongst us straight away. And put a hold on the Red Tent at the librairy. 😀 Some of my favorites are Initiation by Elisabeth Haich, Inanna by Thomas R.P. Mielke. Initiation was translated to English, most of my other favorites are not 😕 (Nefratete by Joke Bouwsma, In Persephone's Arms by Debora Zachariasse) I'm slowly working through Dion Fortune's work (as in years... Not always in the mood and have a tendency to fall asleep reading her work, does bring me good dreams though.. ) I enjoy wisdom wrapped in a good story or memoir most. And the Marion Zimmer books are special to me, fantasy, but still.... They made me visit Glastonbury and the Chalice Well 20 years ago, and that changed my world. I could go on forever... 😊 Last minute title! Faery Tale by Signe Pike, loved it!! Signe travels through the UK in search of magic and coming to terms with her fathers passing. Must read! Her latest book is Amazing too, The Lost Queen, first in a trilogy.

I'd suggest getting a book called The Well-Read Witch by Carl McColman. It's a book of Pagan book reviews separated into categories. I bought copies for new members of my coven when I wasn't Solitary Wicca. Silver Ravenwolf, Laurie Cabot, Raymond Buckland, and Scott Cunningham have good books on Wicca. I highly suggest them. Silver Ravenwold and Fiona Horne have good books for teenagers who are interested in Wicca. Ashleen O'Gaea has some great books on raising your children in a Pagan family. I'm not going to add it without your permission Louise but I have a Pagan bookshelf on my Goodreads I'm willing to allow to be linked.
