- The world has been reduced to rubble by a massive earthquake.
While no one knows for sure how far the ruins stretch, or what the cause of the earthquake may be, in the heart of Seoul there is only one apartment building left standing. It is called Hwang Gung Apartments.

Right on! Movie up for an Academy Award this year. Korea does fantastic movies and so glad to see the US open-up the categories to movies throughout the world.
How are Korean movies so damn good! This is a must watch
Every Korean movie I see, they have really great plot and twist and secret and great acting all together, with new unique concept, I really like this
The first part of the film felt like if Wes Anderson created a disaster movie. Then the other half fel like it was Bong Joon Ho movie.
I've actually seen a Korean comic with the same exact concept except in the manga the disaster was a cold snap 'day after tomorrow' situation plus a little bit of magical powers. The powers were mostly an aid to get around large plot problems then a main focus.
This movie looks pretty decent. I'll never get used to eastern over exaggeration to injury. I can barely stand North America's style.
