Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer is an IMAX®-shot epic thriller that thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.
The film stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer and Emily Blunt as his wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Oscar® winner Matt Damon portrays General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey, Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.
Academy Award® nominee Florence Pugh plays psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, Benny Safdie plays theoretical physicist Edward Teller, Michael Angarano plays Robert Serber and Josh Hartnett plays pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence.
Oppenheimer also stars Oscar® winner Rami Malek and reunites Nolan with eight-time Oscar® nominated actor, writer and filmmaker Kenneth Branagh.
The cast includes Dane DeHaan (Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets), Dylan Arnold (Halloween franchise), David Krumholtz (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs), Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) and Matthew Modine (The Dark Knight Rises).
The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan.
Oppenheimer is filmed in a combination of IMAX® 65mm and 65mm large-format film photography including, for the first time ever, sections in IMAX® black and white analogue photography.
Nolan’s films, including Tenet, Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception and The Dark Knight trilogy, have earned more than $5 billion at the global box office and have been awarded 11 Oscars and 36 nominations, including two Best Picture nominations.

This trailer specifically AND the Universal UK first look that’s 5 minutes long!
Saw it in IMAX and I'm amazed by how Nolan managed to make talking so intense and the aftermath of the real test was so good 💥💥💥
Literally!
It was a good movie
It was a terrible movie. Came back to see how much better the trailer was than the actual movie.
Oppenheimer, Einstein, Heisenberg, Bohr, and Feynman. Some of greatest and most influential physicists of all time, in a summer blockbuster by Nolan!

Finally a film that properly portrays the dark sides of the atomic bomb and how much those who developed it now suffer from guilt. The scenes are portrayed so dramatically and authentically that one can truly empathize with that time.

Japanese is known for their discipline and extreme courage even its inhuman such as the kamikaze warriors, so in my opinion if your people were not extremely patriotic in the wrong way, surrendering themself would be easier and the nuclear bomb won't be necessary. may peace last forever, the cycle of hatred needs to stop ! My grandpa was on a navy ship back when the military was doing nuclear testing on our own soldiers. Him and everybody else aboard was awoken early one morning, given special eye-protection and told to stand on the starboard side and look to the horizon. He said even wearing the eye-protection, the light from the initial flash was so bright, that when he shielded his eyes with his hand, he could see the bones in his fingers through his skin.
My grandpa died of cancer, though it's fair to mention he was also an asbestos installer after his time in the military until that was phased out. Didn't really stand a chance to avoid the cancer, really.

I'll reserve judgment until I see the movie. My father worked on the project, and yes, they really were uncertain if their invention would destroy the world. Dad was kept in the dark about what he was headed for until he got there. They just gave him a bunch of intelligence tests, combed over his educational background, grilled him about every person he knew, and put him on trains that went all over the country until he had no idea where he was. They trucked him up a steep mountain at oh-dark-hundred to a muddy, unfinished set of barracks. He started out in explosives, shunted over to the trigger problem, worked briefly with the guys tickling the dragon's tail, and then the big guys found out he was a good writer. So they gave him keys to the whole project and said "write up our history please." Too bad Chris Nolan never approached us. The only person I'm aware was interested in what my dad had to say was a philatelist who discovered he was the guy who collected Russian stamps and drove the mail screeners crazy.

Mankind would manage that even without him. Besides, the atomic bomb has prevented a third world war which would have cost even more lives than the second.
Then the guy was harassed by the US government, McCarthy, and his goons for the rest of his life for criticizing the US's constant escalation of deadly weapons. FBI did the same with Einstein and would have probably blacklisted him if not for his popularity.
@@huckleberryfinn6578 First time seeing a fucking atomic bomb apologist.
True. If ukraine not shown stupidity and kept nukes. Russia would have to think twice before attacking.

Oppenheimer, Einstein, Heisenberg, Bohr, and Feynman. Nolanın yay blokbasterində bu vaxta qədərki ən böyük və nüfuzlu filimlərindən biridir.
Film başdan sona izləyicinin özünə bağlayır
Hər kəsin baxmasını tövsiyə edəcəyim bir filimdir!
Worth a look
This film looks absolutely unreal. Cillian Murphy is so talented and expresses Oppenheimer's discomfort with the Manhattan project so perfectly. Cannot wait to see this in IMAX. This could very easily be my favorite movie this year
I think it's going to be a big flopped on box-office and it is just another whiteman movie to show their savageness on screen , but ignoring all the facts that this psychopath killed thousands of innocent people on earth, may god never give this devil peace

@@jfreitag88the only two movies I'll be watching in the theater this year

@Justin Freitag If Dune 2 is anything like how the book finishes, then you’re 100% right. It’ll be a close contest for sure
I’m Japanese. Today I heard the news that Oppenheimer will be released in 2024 in Japan. As a descendant of victim who died in Hiroshima on that day This movie means a lot to me and my family. I’m really happy with this great decision. This movie would be controversial but it is really worthy of watching for especially every Japanese.
P.S I wish that Hiroshima and Nagasaki will continue to be only places where atomic bomb was dropped. No wars in everywhere ❤❤❤
So I remember they were separating ppl that were showing radiation on them. What happened to those ppl do you know? Americans never heard what happened
Interesting. A Japanese bot.
Hope your people have learned your lesson , you don’t want us to drop a third one .
you forgot Fukushima
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS FILM. YOU WILL REGRET IT.. IT'S JUST 3 HOURS OF NERDS NON-STOP TALKING . I SWEAR
Filmi merakla ve heyecanla beklemelteyim e kısa sürede çıkar inşallah
Absolulatey deep meaning and Philosophie mentioned❤🎉🎉🎉
Murphy alone is a must see. One of the best actors of his generation. He can truly speak without a word.
Murphy, Blunt, Pugh, Damon and Downey Jr is a brilliant cast directed by Nolan is a must see

Movies based on true historical events are always fascinating . It seems much better than movies with fake agents in unrealistic missions
Only downside is that you probably already been spoiled the ending.
MI???😂😂
Did you know that before the Manhattan project was finished there was supposed to be an invasion of mainland Japan codenamed Operation Downfall to take place in 1946, It was going to be larger than D Day in Normandy which in comparison had 12 divisions where Downfall had twice the number.
Loosely based and very biased.

Oppenheimer was awesome 😎. Best movie of 2023
The oscars SERIOUSLY need to add a category for Best Trailer. And this needs to win.
its a pretty basic trailer imo

Basic ass trailer yall need to stop glazing
All trailers nowadays have the same structure. There is no originality.
If you feel goosebumps from just the trailer itself then imagine how did you feel when you watch this film in the big screen.
Mark my words ----- this is gonna be a average movie and gonna be one of nolan worst movies . Will not justify its hype .

You forgot about Ludwig.
Oppenheimer was often plagued with bouts of depression; Cillian has an exceptional keenness for embodying the qualities of depression on screen and emotionally displaying it. I am sure he will have an outstanding portrayal of him
His face at 2:48 is everything I need. He has the dead inside stare of the man who unleashed death upon the world
Precisely. He nailed it w Tommy Shelby, he’s gonna nail this.
I mean, to be honest, I would have depression if I created the means for the human race to kill themselves via bombs out of spite towards another country.
In retrospect he was pretty ignorant because the Germans were never going to make a nuke due to all the resources needed. Germany at the time was a beat dog waiting for the Russians to beat them down into submission.
Amazing actor all the characters he plays are so different yet you can still tell it’s him
