What cooler are you looking to use? Any you feel like we missed in the "best" (there's hundreds of course!)?
I'll probably go with a Corsair H150i elite if/when my msi cooler fails. We don't really have access to all the fancy brands like ID cooling, Cougar or Antec cases, Seasonic psu's etc just a few big names like Corsair and Gigabyte. Annoying, but at least most of them are good products
I use the h100i rgb pro xt. Temps are good but I’m sure I could’ve got a better cooler. Was definitely worth it for the price it was going for at the time ($70)
Hopefully in the future, I could have an Arctic liquid freezer ii cooling down my ryzen 5 5600x.
I am thinking of going with Deepcool AK620 for 12700. I guess that should do the job.
Thanks for the video I’ve been looking at the be quiet dark rock pro and have been trying to figure out if it would be good for the 5800x and this helps clarify this
The "What Size Cooler for Which Ryzen CPU" section of the video was genuinely helpful.. please do more stuff like this!!
That's great to hear! Thank you for the feedback
Ooh yes, I love a matrix
yea, I do agree that was a great help for us
For anyone using a hyper 212 evo, It is enough to cool a 5800x3d.
But, you may need some changes to get good temp. Here 5 steps I did to lower my temps.
1- use enough thermal paste (better too much than too little)
2- have a good airflow in the case and go for the positive air pressure. (More intake than exhaust)
3-add an exhaust fan to the 212 evo tower cooler. It lower the temp further by a few degrees.
4- set the fan curve to 50% bellow 60°, 75% at 65° and 100% at 70°. At 70° and higher, the cpu will work fine but will throttle down. Keeping it bellow 70° let it keep the boost clock.
5- use PBO2 tuner or use the bios setting to set the curve optimizer to undervolt the cpu. It is really easy to do and there are many tutorial arround. The simplest way I found is to use pbo2 tuner or activate the setting in bios. I set my curve to -20 on all core and did somes test and it is stable. Stability may vary for each 5800x3d but the majority seem to be stable at -20.
I hope it can help other with the same cpu/cooler 🙂
With these 5 steps, my temp are really good and my hyper 212 evo black edition cooler work perfectly.
I got a -10 average less temp than before in all scenario.
Thanks for sharing!
What kind of temps do you get? Idle? Load?
@@theNecksLevel around 30-35 idle/browsing, 40-50 when gaming and 60-70 when stress testing depending on the test.
I call BS. I have a 5800x with a 240mm evga clc aio and thermal grizzly paste and I've undervolted thru ryzen master and I still hit 70-80c gaming.
try putting more intake fans instead of exhaust, some morons place exhaust fans right near where an intake fan is getting air in which it will obviously suck the cool air out of the case
Perfect timing. This dropped right when I was looking into good coolers for the build Im planning. Thank you!
Perfect timing! So glad we could help!
Thank you so much for the time and effort put into this video. It really helped me decide on the final touches to my new build after building my first PC ~5 years ago!
I wish that more of these air coolers take into account the ram clearance in the future.
Also consider the mounting system, ammount of wires, required headers, and extra RGB hardware and software...
I got the EK 280 DRGB for my 5800X (280 top mount exhaust to try to get a bit more case airflow to help cool the GPU). Hope to have it delivered today! It really stood out for a few often overlooked reasons;
1- It doesn't use the stock AM4 "2 clip mount", but it does use the stock backplate and all 4 of it's mounting points individually (also it's tooless after initial installation)
2- The real killer feature for me is it only uses one ARGB header and doesn't require any special software or controller. Instead it can run off just the motherboard (ASUS Sync in my case) yet it will still work with most controllers/ hardware and software. I can add an ARGB/ fan controller later if I decide. I also really dig the look.
I plan on using a $20 Amazon 3-pack of blue LED (non RGB) fans for front intake. 3 into 1 PWM header with a splitter and call it done for now.
One thing that should be mentioned. If you already own a Corsair Elite CapelIx Cooler. You can buy the LCD Screen separately from Corsair and add it to your existing cooler.
Love the content, I'm in a super hard position atm. I LOVE the look of air coolers but it feels like a waste when fancy AIO coolers are only a bit more and I don't have to worry about clearance issues. Reminds me of old school cars with the hood scoop vs new cars with more efficient air intakes.
Hi, I'm new to following your channel and I like how you handle component issues, recommendations, and in general everything related to PC building.
My recent PC was built with a Ryzer 5600x ( 1 month ago ) , I am using an ID-COOLING SE-224-XT Black but I added a second fan on the other side of the radiator, this improved the heat dissipation of the tower even more .
I am using Noctua NT-H1 Pro-Grade thermal paste.
I have Precision Boost Overdrive mode in Advanced mode, so far no performance or temperature issues.
I have 360 AIO for my 5600x mainly for headroom for upgrading but happy to see temps not even budge. It’s also paired with a Aorus 3080 master which in itself is a beefy 4 slot cooling monster.
I've got a 5900X in my system and almost certainly went overkill on the cooler with a Deepcool Assassin III with the optional third fan. On the other hand, I got the cooler on sale. Yes it keeps the CPU temps under very good control. Since the case airflow matters more for an air cooler, I went with a Phanteks P-500A with 140mm fans all around.
its fine to go overkill with air cooler.
easily reusable on upgrade
I just got a simple corsair h60 watercooler 😂 no extra fans then 1 big one on the front of the case but the case is mesh on every side so its air intake is great. Been rocking it for over 1-2 years now also a 5900x got the fan at 44% it does run hot tho 😂 77 in resident evil 2 maxed out settings. But on ryujinx it def pushes 82 its a switch emulation idk why its so much heavyer then newest games on max
@@xrpmoonwolf i use this same cooler on my 5600x and it works very nice. im planning on getting the 5800x3d so i may upgrade it at that point
I'm currently putting together a parts list including a 5800X3D where I might go with a EK AIO which gets great reviews. I'm still just not sure of an AIO though, but because they keep raising power limits soon this may be the only valuable option for high-end CPUs.
I have the 240 EK AIO on one 5900X rig and the 240 Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 on another. If I had to purchase another one I’d go with the EK again. They both perform about the same and in my opinion the EK looks better.
@@brianrobinson3961 how are your temps on the 5900x using a 240mm bro?
@@francomora909 Great. I think I got a really good 5900X. Mid 50’s under load maybe hit low 60’s after a 10 min Cinebench run.
You want an air cooler, you just don’t know it yet.
Pretty much spot on here. I have a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black Edition on my 5800X and it seems to do amazing. I know Noctua is expensive but their products are just top notch imo. Their fans push so much air and are so quite. They also offer customizing options for their coolers and fans to change the colors to match your build/theme which I enjoy. My build is a blue/black theme so being able to purchase blue/black heatsink covers for my NHD15 and blue/black Chromax fans just make it all look really nice. Definitely on the high side tho. But with that cooler my 5800X boost as high as 5.1ghz in gaming and around 4.75-4.85ghz when under heavy load on all cores. Low 30s C idle, mid to low 50s C gaming, and around 65-68C under Prime 95 torture test. I think case airflow also plays a huge part in what size cooler you can get away with and how good they can perform. Often times I think if people are having cooling issues it’s their case airflow and not necessarily their cooling being not enough or a combo of both. Good airflow with any of these recommendations here is more than enough for a great experience. That new Deepcool Cooler looks super nice.
Thanks for sharing! Glad you enjoyed the video
I don't know why but same cooler I get idles as 45-51°c thats not the problemo. Gaming it gets 88-90°c avg on gaming & even reaches 110°c , I do want to mention I live in a hot country. So switching to Aio would 240mm be any good ? I think I'll go with mid option and choose 280mm but , no exp with Aios , so does 120mm(240mm) fan running with higher rpm better than 140mm fans lower rpm (280mm) ?
Thanks a lot for this amazing series, Jason. Absolutely great Best series. Might stick with Arctic & ID-COOLING coolers for pc case and cpu, seems like a great value with less marketing (I mean, Arctic & ID-COOLING doesn't charge a lot just for branding, while having sometimes even better stats than more branded items like - be quiet, for example). Speaking of - ARCTIC P12 PWM PST and ID-COOLING SE-224-XT Basic.
This channel is so underrated, I have learned many things while planning for my 1st PC build, thank you for all your videos, all the way here from the Philippines
So glad you are enjoying!! Thank you for watching
I’m loving the videos for ryzen really helping out with a fresh build I’m working on! Would love to see one about cases for the itx and atx motherboards
So glad these are useful! Cases are on the list but in meantime check out our Q&A video from February. We did a mini round of best cases there!
YES! waited for this, thanks!
Hope its helpful!!
got a 240mm aio for my 5800x a couple days ago then this popped up in my feed lol
definitely a solid upgrade from the 120mm aio that the prebuilt came with
just ran across your channel yesterday. Your vids are concise, informative and very well presented. SOLID info in digestable, bite size portions. TYVM for that. Working on the parts list for my 5800X3D build, and your vids, this one for ex, have been exceptionally helpful. TY for that too!!
So glad we could help!
Great video brother! I got a really good deal on my Arctic liquid freezer 360. No RGB, all black. Keeps my overclocked 5900x cool. Never seen the temp go over 72°.
nice!! And so glad you enjoyed!
Excellent video as always! The size recommendations per Ryzen CPU was really helpful, I've always been confused about that subject.
Any thoughts about the Deepcool Castle 280EX, by the way? There's one for sale here for 65 euros
Thanks glad you liked that! It was a late addition to the video. That deepcool unit is good - so many good coolers hard to name them all!
yoo bro u have everything iv been trying to find out on internet for months in jst 2 of ur vids. thannnkkkk youuuuu
Appreciate your Spreadsheet, nice and simple
Thank you for this video, a family member of mine was really interested in looking at AIOs for AMD RYZEN 5800x and this was the perfect video for them.
Glad I could help!
@@PCBuilderChannel Yes, thank you so much. He is now thinking about mayyyybeee Intel (12th-gen), so could you do a video on the best Intel coolers? Also, I am not sure about this... but do you need to have Windows 11 to run the P and E cores correctly with Intel CPUs?
The video is on the list so stay tuned. I'd recommend windows 11 for the 12600k and higher.
@@PCBuilderChannel Thank you!
I think you can get the z53 with non rgb fans for a bit cheaper, also don't forget they come in white too
recently discovered your channel. so glad I did because I've learned so much from you and this channel. just in time since I'm considering building my first PC this year later around Xmas thx Jason
Welcome aboard! So glad the videos are helpful and best of luck with your upcoming builds.
thank you so much for this. really answered all my questions.
Glad it was helpful!
This is a great video I must say. As for me I just decided to go custom loop ever since my 3900x all the way up to my 5950x. It is a pain to maintain but the performance and looks are great.
Hi. Do you think these cooler for 5900X would be enogh? Deepcool Gammaxx 400 Pro Deepcool Gammaxx 400 Ex Deepcool Ak400 zero dark Plus Or should I choose some beefy coolers like: Deepcool Ak500 Deepcool Ak620.
or it's better to go with liquid AIO coolers like Deepcool LS500, Deepcool castle 240 instead.
@@maxit1082 I would get something beefy like DH15 size or go with a 280 or 360mm AIO if you want to use PBO. But if you just leave it stock those small coolers should be able to handle it. these chips don't get too hot unless you do PBO from my testing (obviously I'm on a custom loop but I was maxing out at 58C full load stock) Vs 82c with my PBO on my 5950x.
Hey, this was a very helpful video and just in good time, I was going to get the scythe fuma because of one of your previous cpu cooling videos but checked again and in my area can actually purchase the deepcool AK620 unit for cheaper. Though I am a bit worried about the clearance on the ram, the motherboard I plan to buy is the msi meg b550 unify and my ram sticks are the basic Corsair vengeance 2x16 kit so they aren’t too big and they will be in the 2nd and 4th slot. Do you recommend me checking the motherboard manual online for dimensions or is there a website that can help me with it? Thank you.
I know you probably bought your cooler already but I picked up an AK620 and had huge issues with RAM clearance. For me, if you have a big enough processor to warrant one of the top tier air coolers, just go AIO.
Best part about your videos are those pics in the corner like gepard etc. It shows that you put a huge amount of time in every of your videos to find a suitable pic for every ocassion. It adds a huge value and its entertaining to watch. 11/10
Thank you so much for the great feedback! It means a lot. My wife actually edits the videos and really appreciates it when people notice her work! Hope you keep enjoying the content!
@@PCBuilderChannel Looking forward to next boost my build submission part. Missed the submission to last one :(

Love seeing these videos, great job on the recommendations. I love seeing your channel grow, keep up the great work!
So glad you are enjoying! Thank you for watching
I'm rocking the ID Cooling Zoomflow 240mm and it's performing decently on my i7-11700f. The highest temps it will go is around 70 degrees Celsius and idle is around the 30 degrees Celsius.
nice!
I use the be quiet! you suggested on my 5600x and it is doing an awesome job, also this version is very easy to install and the provided thermal paste is good enough.
Wonderful!
What kind of temperatures are you getting and how many case fans are you using?
@@brayan6852 5 intake front and side and 3 outtake 1 back and 2 top (corsair 5000D airflow case) all fans are also by be quiet!
under bench mark the cpu is at ~ 70C hitting ~5.2 GHz
@@Vladimir_Ches I have 4000d so I think I can get 6 fans total, do you have a link to the fans. I assume the fans are actually quiet based on the brand name. A pack of really cheap fans I bought were loud and I don’t want to make the same mistake.
Great video great cooler list but you should also consider the ID-Cooling SE 225 or 207😁
You make the most helpful video around!! I love being walked through your spread sheets :) I don't watch much CZcams so I may be wrong but it seems you are the only one doing this. Other pc channels seems too basic or complex but you always have relevant information that is actually helpful. Even though I like to watch your whole video it's great how you break up each segment so people can easily skip though to the relevant bit for them.
I'm building my 2nd pc but my first in over 8 years so I knew nothing. It works great in large part thanks to you. I watch and rewatch the videos as I built it :) keep up the great work helping people with insights into markets around the world and what part is appropriate for who. (so much better imo than the videos people make about theoretical maximum but not something any normal person would ever build)
🐈
Thank you so much for the great feedback it means a lot to us! Best of luck on your build and hope we can help!
I recommend going to eBay if a manufacturer has an eBay account and you can get really great deals from a lot of their refurbished or open box items. I got an open box Artic 360 II for $77
I'm currently using a Cooler Master ML240 V2 in my ITX build together with a 5900X.
They work fine together and with a slight undervolt and OC the 5900X is a beast.
I just had to change the fans of the ML240 they were just too noisy. The Arctic P12 fans perform really well while keeping the noise in such a tiny case down.
Serious question - I honestly want to know. Why Undervolt? Whats the advantage? Feel free to just link to a site as oppossed to answer, but growing up it was all about more power (I'm.... Old....) I have a 5600X and if under volting is a thing... great - I'll do that.... I run Artic F12s... but I will admit they are fairly noisy. But I run seven... so.... yeah.... Anyway, undervolting.... Why and... why?
@@damightyshabba439 With undervolting you use up less energy and thus generate less heat.
If you can stay at the same clock speed it's a win-win situation. Same performance while using less power
@@AlphaDango ....Nice... I like it - I have heat problems (I live in southern Spain and get a lot of over heating issues in the summer)... I've always ignored liquid cooling and my 7 120/140mm fans sound like a jet engine.... Plus a 22" floor fan and a 7" high powered desk fan... ITS LOUD! I use headphones... a lot. But they break... sorry to be so blunt but... the sweat... This could be the sweet spot... I am a gamer, but I only play alone, not online, and the games tend to be strategy or space 4x, not FPS or fighting (I used to give online lessons in both... but damn those kids got gobby!) So this could really work... nice - thanks for the advice - off to research! At the moment I run three PC's, one at a time. I get a few hours out of each. This COULD get me in... I'll be playing around for hours....
@@damightyshabba439 Maybe you should get a better cooling solution.
More fans don't equals to better cooling.
You might need a better cooler itself wich has more mass.
@@AlphaDango I'm just using stock CPU (Wraith?) and 7 x Cooler Master F12s. The cpu cooler is the one that came with it. I do have high end silicon but... being shot I have not used it!!! yeah, I know.... OK, I'll look for a solid chunk of copper in the next few days...
Thumbs up for the great video and the inclusion of the Vetroo V5!
Thanks! Wow you got to that section fast! :)
Good video thank you. I ended up getting the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 CPU Air Cooler. But this helped a lot!
Please do a pc build guide for best 1440p gaming (including a monitor) for a budget of around USD 1500-1800, (with a bit of future proofing, something that can be used for 5 years)
Yeah i needed too!
Definitely will add this to the video idea list!
@@PCBuilderChannel please compare i5 12600k & 5600x options. Which would be better for 1440p, while also helping in future proofing.
good suggestion! In the meantime we do have a 12600k build and a 5600x build on the channel now you might want to check out
What about a cooler for the 5700x?
I bought a Ventroo v5 to cool my 5800x but clicked on the video looking for potential air cooler upgrades. Thank you for putting this exhaustive list together!
Dont use an air cooler for a 5800x. I had a gammaxx on mine and it was still hitting 90c. I'm using a 240mm aio currently but it will still hit 70-80c im about to upgrade to a 360mm aio.
I just ordered the 5800x3d and needed this video! Thank you 😁
Awesome! Did you check out our new 5800X3D build video yet?
He doesnt include the 5700 x
Personally, I stick with tower air coolers (even on high end builds) because the performance is either better, or close enough while I save money. I then put that money towards a better graphics card.
Ye and less maintnance and more reliable.
I was also advised to go for a good air cooler if I wanted a quiet build. Mind you, that was in 2014, but I dare say my 8 years old Noctua is still pretty damn quiet.
Yeah I also came to this conclusion after my Corsair AIO water cooler had it's pump break which made my CPU melt. Only lasted 2 years... Never again!
So I bought the biggest Noctua air cooler for the Ryzen 5950X system built to replace the old. Not gonna lie, it's a bit ugly in a case with a glass side panel. But it performs well & the peace of mind is worth it.
@@potatopoweredhamster9897 Yeah, that piece of mind is priceless. Especially when you're dealing with a lot of expensive equipment.
Could go for zoomflow Id cooling for budget. Quiet, and been using it past 2 years.
I'd recommend the frostflows 240s from ID Cooling. Can't go wrong for $54. I have them in two of my builds.
Your videos are incredible!! Thanks for all of information and keeping it real!
Glad you like them!
Great video. I currently have a Scythe Fuma 2 on a 3900x. It's been great. I was thinking of going with the Deep Cool AK620 when I upgrade this computer.

Look when the NH-D15 came out. It was 2014 I think it was, and some air coolers are just starting to compete with it. I also do believe Noctua will be releasing the successor to the NH-D15 in 2023. Along with new 140mm fans for it also.

Thank you! Hope you keep enjoying the content (:
Good video! I went with the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML280 Mirror for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and it's been working really well so far.
Nice! Thanks for sharing
Appreciate the help👍
Absolutely, glad we could help! Thank you for watching :D
You did a great job explaining the Coolers. I purchased Ryzen 9 3900x in March 2020 for $399.99 and the Air Cooler Noctua NH-U12S for $79.99. I upgraded to Ryzen 905900x in May 2022 for $372.99 and the Air Cooler was the Noctua NH-U12A chromax. Black, 120mm Single-Tower CPU Cooler $119.99 very happy with both Air Coolers. With intel 12 and 16 cores and Ryzen 12 and 16 cores, I think you need 6 or 7 heat pipes to cool the CPU down for an Air Cooler. I prefer Air Coolers to water coolers because the life of the water cooler is shorter about 4 years. great video
Thank you! And thanks for sharing!
I'm slowly building my low to mid range with the help of your videos. Prior to them I just had the GPU and CPU in mind. Now I have a mobo and ram this one next.
So glad we could help!
Great video man. Thank you
So glad you enjoyed!
Thanks! So no flat air coolers for oc?
Video was a big help 🤝
So glad! Thank you for watching
What an incredibly useful video, thank you.
I like the gammaxx coolers, they're constantly on sale for like $16-20, but they're great even for $25
As always great and informative video Jason! What do you think of Enermax ETS-T50 AXE ARGB? I'm looking for a white RGB air cooler for my 5600x + 3070 build (I need a brief opinion on my parts B550 Tomahawk, Vengeance PRO RGB 16GB Kit DDR4-3600 CL18, 4000D, LG 27GN800-B, Corsair RM750, white rgb case fans)
I went with the be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 for my 3800X, works great!
Nice video. So I would be going for a mid-air cooler (Noctua L12s) for my 5700g because my motherboard does not support overclocking the CPU. It would have been nice to go for the Noctua C14S because it's the best air-cooler for NR200P, but the availability in my country is really bad. It's a good preparation incase I need to upgrade my motherboard in the future.
Extremely informative. 🙏!!
So glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching
Hey great video as always! Is a video for AMD Ryzen 7000s cooler recommendations necessary or is this Ryzen Cooling Recommendation Spreadsheet good enough to translate from the AMD Ryzen 5000s?
this video is so helpful, thanks a lot man!! More videos like these
So glad you enjoyed! We will keep it up
Here I am watching a 9 month old tech video that holds up great because Jason gives you good general advice and the info you need to make decisions. Thanks for the content. My prediction is that you'll easily break a million subscribers this year because of the quality of your channel and your enthusiasm for PC's.
Thanks so much for the awesome feedback! We sure do appreciate it!! Glad this was still helpful!
Would love a refresh of this general guide to include the new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs.
Saul goodman!! Love your content bro, keep it up
Love to hear it! Better Call PC Builder :D
most helpful video on the internet. Trust me, iv seen all of them and this is the best.
Glad it was helpful!
love ur vids! thx fore ur work!
So glad you are enjoying!!
Great vid as always. I mean, people can always go deeper, but these roundups are really useful, especially for first time builders who try to navigate in the jungle of choices.
I would challenge you on air cooler lasting as long as their fans.
Can't you just strap another fan on the heatsink if the old one wears out?
Glad you enjoyed! And yes, solid point lol. Though the point I was trying to make is they last a very long time so you don't really need to worry about it. (;
@@PCBuilderChannel which is a very good point :D
I'm happy with my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition with an extra Cooler Master $12 case fan stuck on the back of it for a push-pull configuration. I don't do any overclocking, I just let PBO do its thing on my Ryzen 5 5600X, so I should be fine for a good long while :)
Thank you for this video! I will be buying the Corsair iCUE H100i Elite!
Glad I could help!
Thoughts on the Fractal Celsius+ S28?
arctic liquid freezer 360, I love those!
Wait no phanteks glacier one t30? I've always wondered how it stack up to 360mm AIOs. But still a good video!
Nice video as always Jason. Keep going like this and your subscribers/followers will grow for every day that goes by.👍❤
Thank you so much 😁
How about the original Fuma 2 on a 5800X3d? Looking to upgrade from a 2700X. Thanks for the video, well done.
Can you do a video for intel? I've bought a 12600k on this black friday and I don't know which one to buy. Is the id cooling se 224 xt enough? Or do I need to step up to the 226
Finally someone who really helped me which cooling system is best for me! Thanks
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching
I love my Zoom flow 240. Works great in my 3600!
How didn't i find this channel before? Thank you, Very useful information.
Glad you found us! Welcome!
What are your thoughts on a water cooled M.2 ssd using a 120 rad? I currently run a fan cooled heat sink on my ADATA 1TB Gen 3 and it runs at 23C under light loads such as watching CZcams vids.
Would you happen to have an excel sheet like that for older gen ryzen cpu's? I wanna overclock my ryzen 7 2700X, and I got a high-end air cooler, but am thinking I might as well get a decent AIO cooler, for a bit of future proofing, when upgrading CPU's and overclocking that.
Even a "senior" PC nerd like me can extract value from your videos. They're my go to place for gaining more knowledge.
Happy to spread some learning! Thanks so much for watching.
I’m so thankful for the in depth explanation. Is there anything I have to know about if any air cooler will fit my motherboard. I have a MSI b550-a pro and a 5700x and it will not be used for OC which of the mid range air cooler should I buy? I’m very careful now because I recently bought a faulty air cooler that didn’t fit.
Amazing video, saved me some cash. Thank you
What do you think of the Arctic Freezer A35?
Great video been looking to upgrade from my stock amd cooler on my 5600x
So glad we could help!
I've been building comps for 26ish years, I worked in the industry for a good 15 years. After I built my I7 6700k/TitanXP build I stopped paying attention to the stuff because I had a nasty habit of always upgrading and wasting money. Well after 6-7 years of not paying attention to the industry It was crazy how many options there are out there now. What started off as a graphics card upgrade turned into a new build. I went with the 5800X3D and it obviously blows my I7 out of the water. But I did not do any research into thermals with this chip and the 150W heatsink/fan I got for it was nowhere close to keeping the thing cool and would thermal throttle easily. I didn't want to spend a lot so I went with the ID Frostflow 280 and it keeps it 10C below the max temp of the CPU under full load which is fine by me. I can't imagine the top end CPU's, I mean this thing is crazy fast compared to what I'm coming from.
In need an advice I want to build withe r9 5900x and rtx 4000 series do I need to wait or get the cpu and wait for the 4000 series and is it good in the next 3 years?
