    This is a great video. Thank you. There are some quirks but it's fairly simple to use. Not clear on public vs private bookings page and the need to customize the calendar entry with a web meeting platform other than teams. Or I'd like a drop down to choose, in-person, via phone or web.

      The forms are not really customizable, but the difference between a personal and service booking page is who is involved in the services on the provider side. For more customization other platforms do offer greater options.

    I have a shared bookings calendar that I am experimenting with. I have the general evaluability scheduled for one day a week between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, however when I test it it gives me booking options at 5:00 am etc. why is this?

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před měsícem

      The most likely reason for what you're describing is a time zone issue. There are multiple places that impact what timeslots are offered to guests though, including the business schedule, calendar schedule, and the availability on your own calendar (or that of the person/people being booked on the calendar).

    We have 20 meetings rooms in my organisation. Would Ms booking be a good tool to manage the rooms? Like a room booking system

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před 5 dny

      You can create resource (room) mailboxes and assign them as staff to services in Bookings, however, you'd need to consider the approach you'd take to the logic of how different rooms might appear in different services (e.g. a service per room, a service per meeting size etc). If you meeting bookers are internal the more efficient way to do this is to create room mailboxes for each space and then book them with the meeting invite via scheduling assistant. Alternatively, you might also be interested in looking at Microsoft's new tool Microsoft Places, which is a more robust solution for managing this sort of need.

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thanks for watching. If they added the booking themselves, they can return to the bookings page to manage their appointment from the reschedule link in the email. If you make the booking for them, there is an option under the service settings to let the attendee manage their appointment, you need to turn this on ahead of making the appointment to enable self-service management.

    Hi! I wanted to use a booking page shared with the team to be able to organise appointments with customers during a trade fair. So I would need the only available days and times to be those of the event. Unfortunately, even if I set the exact days (date, month and day of the week) it gives me the possibility to book at all times and days. Could you help me?

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před měsícem

      It seems like you probably do not have your custom availability period set-up correctly. This is the main way to constrain a service to a particular period of time from the service management screen. If you are still running into problems with this, feel free to book a short call with me to review the set-up process: calendly.com/nickdc1/

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. It depends on what you’re trying to achieve. If you want a group of a few internal contacts to be bookable all together, you can do that. But if you want the external vendor to just be able to choose multiple users to book with from a list of your staff, you cannot. If you can predefined the groupings, bookings can handle it.

    Thank you for this video! I've watched a few videos on Bookings now to better understand it and you mentioned things I hadn't heard before - thank you! I love when things can be automated and was so happy to see the follow-up email feature in Bookings. In testing it out, I've noticed that in the email the customer receives it reads "You have an upcoming booking" after their name and then "Appointment reminder". I'm confused as this seems out of place for a follow-up email that is sent after the booking has taken place and I can't see where I can edit either of these. You obviously have a much more comprehensive understanding of Microsoft products and IT than me! Do you know where I can change this or have any suggestions as to what might be happening, please?

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. For shared bookings calendars you edit these emails under the edit service and then notifications page. You can add either reminders or after visit follow-ups. It sounds like perhaps the reminder template got edited rather than the follow-up email.

    Hello, thank you for creating the video. It’s very informative. I have just begun your use Bookings and have a question. Can Bookings be tied to a shared calendar in a way that it is not tied to a persons calendar? For instance, we are trying to use it so that our employees can schedule time to meet with a guest we have invited to our company. When I setup a shared booking page it is always tied to my personal calendar. Is there a way around this? Thank you!

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. A shared booking page can include multiple team members and you can set it up to either require one, some, or all of them to attend the appointment. Only the personal booking page should be automatically tied to your own calendar.

I changed this to my current time zone and checked the box, "always show time slots in business time zone" We do business nationally, so should I leave off that checked item? I would love for the user to view times available in there time zone wherever they are booking.

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes, you generally want the guests to be able to view the time slots in their local time zone. Bookings will make sure they get on your calendar at the right time.

      It’s definitely not a fit for everyone, but for anyone who spends time “negotiating” available calendar slots for meetings with others, this tool will probably save time. But, like most things in M365, it’s there, but if it doesn’t work for you there no reason to feel compelled to use it, there are lots of other ways of setting appointments.

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency  Před 5 měsíci

      You already have that calendar in Outlook. Bookings only exposes the availability in your existing calendar, the foundation of making Bookings work for you is always having an up to date Outlook calendar. Ensure the times you are unavailable are booked out as busy or out of office. Then set up the service info you want in Bookings, it will only show availability that both matches your Outlook calendar availability and the availability settings you assigned to your service.

      Thanks for watching. Not out of the box. I’d probably turn to Power Automate to do this, there are a few approaches of varying complexity you could take. How complicated it would need to be would really depend on factors like how fixed the appointment schedule would be and how complex the availability on the underlying calendars was.
