    Not often I find “look like your favorite anime character!” Workout programs that are actually structurally sound and will work for most people. Good stuff man, all I’d recommend is to increase deadlift volume because it’s great for back thickness which is what we want.

    • @projecticy.
      @projecticy. Před 5 měsíci

      @@Asmodeus05 I wouldnt put them on fridays since the erectors take a while to recover plus you're doing 5x10 squats then which train them a considerable amount too, I would either increase the deadlift sets or reps, or change an exercise on wednesday to train the low back more, apart from that the program is very sound.

    • @BenWinney
      @BenWinney  Před rokem

      Do a light jog for 5 minutes on treadmill or ride bike for 5 minutes. Do some dynamic stretching for the muscles you'll be using. And before doing your main working sets, start with the bar and gradually increase the weight so you are doing the exercise with light weights to get your joints used to the movement pattern before doing your heavier sets.

    what exactly is lifting heavy but extremely low reps hoping to accomplish. Are we not aiming for hypertrophy?

    • @BenWinney
      @BenWinney  Před rokem +5

      5 reps is not extremely low reps. Anywhere between 5-30 reps is very effective at building muscle. Lifting heavy puts a lot of mechanical tension on the muscle which induces hypertrophy, just like muscle damage and accumulated metabolic by-products from high reps also induce hypertrophy. Anywhere below 5 reps and now it's more neural adaptations producing strength rather than adaptations in the muscle increasing size.

    • @BenWinney
      @BenWinney  Před rokem +1

      If you're already fat you can eat at maintenance calories or a deficit, you will lose fat either way if you're exercising. I'm not sure what you mean by what this kind of workout is called, but it's a bodybuilding plan if that helps.

    • @BenWinney
      @BenWinney  Před 7 měsíci

      Lots of walking (10k steps per day). I also recommend at least 2 cardio training sessions per week: one sprint session (like 6x10 seconds with 2 minutes rest), and one longer low intensity session (30+ minutes easy jogging or cycling)

    Neck exercises make me feel dizzy, is there an alternative?

    • @BenWinney
      @BenWinney  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Heavy squatting and deadlifting will build your neck a bit just from stabilising and training. But if you want a big neck most people have to train it directly. I also get a bit dizzy from neck curls. Try lying on your back on a bench or bed with your head hanging off the edge and rotate your head from side to side. I like this exercise a lot and it's more comfortable than neck curls for me

    • @BenWinney
