It's getting close! My son and I are very excited! Thanks for sharing!
It sure is, Cody!! Hope you guys get on some big ole toms on opening day!! Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Good advice.
Glad you think so! Appreciate you watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
You just can’t beat a good 870
No, you can't. The only other pump action that I have ever owned was a Mossberg Model 500. Don't have it any longer, got rid of it when I got the 870 Express. I think the only shotgun that Jerod has ever owned has been Remingtons. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Almost that time!
Yes, it is Al. Can't wait, itching to get into the woods to hunt. Of course, won't just be turkey, will also be eyeballing the ground for some mushrooms as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Nice your ready. I hope I can get out been working 7 days just beat don’t feel like doing nothing. If I do get out it will be in may up here. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Dan, that is all we can do it get ready. It is up to the good Lord above to provide a bird. Sure hope you can get out and do some hunting!! Working like that, a man needs a break. Our season opens April 17th, sure wish it would open earlier, but doesn't look like the DNR will ever let that happen. By May for us, all the activity is about over, if not over. That is why I wish our season would come in at the end of March or the first week of April. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Good lookn guns. I will be usen my dad's ole poke stock 12 GA lol. He passed away in 2016 I've used it sense then. Good luck to you all be careful stay safe
Thanks, Steve. Hey, bud, that is ole school and there isn't anything wrong with that. Also, take that ole poke stock into the woods is like having your dad right there with you. Good luck to you this season and will be watching FB for some pictures of you with the ole poke stock and a big ole bird laying on the ground. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Good video. Enjoy your channel.
Remington used to stamp either “Magnum” or “Super Magnum” on the side of their receivers on the Express models but stopped like 10-15 years ago. And the barrels used to say either “for 2 3/4” and 3” shells only” or “for 2 3/4, 3”, and 3 1/2”” but stopped doing that too. I bought a newer 870 Express around 2018 and the receiver only says Express and the barrel says “for 2 3/4” and 3” shells. 3 1/2” for Super Magnum receivers only”. I guess so they don’t have to stamped 2 kinds of barrels. I don’t know what the newer Fieldmasters have on them. One quick way to tell the difference is by looking at the bolt. A Super Magnum will have the sliding port cover in the middle of the bolt. The regular Magnum will be smooth and the way across.
I know, and when I got my 870 Express, I had people telling me it was a magnum. I argued that it wasn't. Then I went to the sporting goods store where I bought it and asked them about it. They told me that if the serial number ended with an "M" it was a magnum. Then I read the barrel, and it said exactly what you said, "2-3/4" and 3" Shells Only. Since then, I haven't worried about it. Love the older Remingtons. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Looks like 👍 yal dialed in
Jason, I think we are. Now, if an ole bird will just come within range. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Looks like you’re both ready to roll. Hope you have a great Spring 👍
I believe we are, Dave. Shotguns are ready, my vest is packed with my box call, slate call and mouth calls. Got the ole owl hooter in one pocked and the crow call in the other. I am ready to pound the woods and get an ole tom. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
I mainly use 870 wingmaster mag. It takes choke tubes and I use a super full turkey choke. Use 3" Remington or 3" Federal shells, both 4 shot and both do a great job. Great video and good luck this spring.
Can't beat a good ole 870, Nick. I have 3 of them, the Express, an older 870 Wingmaster (just full choke-no tubes) and then another 870 Wingmaster with rifled slug barrel. Love Remingtons. I have used Remington and Winchester 3 inch #4's for years. I took my turkey in 2021 with my 870 Express and Remington 3 inch #4's at about 40 yards. Thanks and good luck to you this spring. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Both of them shotguns was nice they both done pretty good and I just went and bought me a brand new shotgun here last week ready for turkey season and the gun I bought was a Stevens 12-gauge pump and I can't wait to get it into turkey woods and kill me a turkey 🦃 with it
Thanks, Josh. Congrats on the new shotgun!! Since it is new I hope you take it out and pattern it so you know how it does before you go into the woods. I know over the years I didn't pattern my shotgun, but with these interchangeable chokes and different loads for turkey hunting, I thought it is best to know how my gun will do with my setup. Good luck to you this season. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Looking good men!! All that is left now is to get one close enough!!!
I spied a new toy on the bench at the very end🤔🤫
Thanks, Matt!! That right, get it close enough and for me to remember when I leave the house that morning to make sure the shotgun is in the truck! LOL Hey, you're not suppose to be looking that close, Matt!! LOL There is a new toy, and the video is being put together this week. Nothing else to say about that, you will just have to wait for the video. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
@@JnJTrueOutdoorAdventures 😂😂😂😂I’ll keep it a secret
Another great video!! I took my first gobbler with a Remington 870 wing-master mag!! Now I use a Remington 870 super mag with a factory super full choke.. Hey I was told super full choke was to tight for #4 loads.. Guess what it holds heck of pattern with 4 Remington and Winchester supreme.. Many gobblers I have taken with this gun!! Enjoyed
Thanks, Blue Boy. Can't beat those ole 870's!! Don't think my shoulder could stand up to the super mag!! Heck just shooting this video, my shoulder was sore for about 2 days. Of course, we shot the shotguns twice, and then their was some other shooting we did, but that is another video that will be coming out soon. I have always used #4's myself either in Winchester or Remingtons. Thanks for watching and commenting. Good luck this season. Juddie - J & J TOA
Did not know about the M will have to check out my 870 wing master
I’m sure it’s only 2 3/4 because it’s so old ?
Great Video
Good to see the old man showed up the Kid 😂
Yes, the letter suffix will let you know if your shotgun is a 3 inch magnum "M" or 2-3/4 inch "V" and of course if it is a newer model that uses the 3-1/2 inch "A". Now this is for 12 gauges, there are different letters for like 20 gauges and 410's. Here is the link: www.rem870.com/gun-manufacture-date/remington-serial-number-lookup/ You have to scroll down the page and you will find the chart for the Remington 870 Serial Number Suffix Meaning. Wasn't me, it was the Jeb's choke tube. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
I have to get some pattern work done too.
I got a new tube for my Mossberg 835 . If all else fails I have my 1187 that is the best I’ve ever owned with the Carlson tube. Just have to hide the shiny a bit.
Good luck fellers! Hope you tag out!
Mike, you better hop to it instead of playing with the Henry 22! LOL Just joking. A lot of years it gets down to the last minute before I have things ready to go. Sometimes it is the night before the opener!! Good luck to you and hope you get an ole big bird first day out. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Most of the remington shotguns have the shell lengths stamped on the barrels. Im a big fan of remingtons i wish they were still making the original american made firearms.
Yes, mine has stamped on it 2-3/4 and 3" Shells Only on the barrel. We are also big fans of the older Remingtons made here in the U.S.A., as I am sure you can tell from the videos. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
You can smell spring in the air,I have seen lots of gobblers out and about. Turkey season comes in on April 29th here in Pennsylvania can’t wait. Thank you for sharing your love for all things hunting.God Bless
Yes, you can surely smell spring in the air, Jr. The forsythias are blooming, the daffodils are blooming, the tulips are coming up and the flowing Douglas pear trees are budding. Heck, Monday it was 72 degrees here. It sucked having to be at work!! Our season opens on the 17th of April, I sure wish it opened the end of March for 1st week of April. Don't think we will ever see it come in that early. Good luck to you this season. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
It's getting closer, and man this weather lately has been getting me fired up for spring turkey. Your shotguns look to be ready now all you need is the bird!
Yes, it sure is, Southpaw210. Now of course this morning here in Fayette County, the sun is out but it was 29 degrees!! Sure hope they are ready, already have my vest packed and this time I hope to remember to put my shotgun in the truck when I leave the house. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Be that time of year before you know it, hopefully l getting go out, only way can if not planting crops
Yes, it will be. Yes, spring time for farmers makes it hard to get out and enjoy the woods. Hope you do get some time to get out there and chase an ole long beard down. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
@@JnJTrueOutdoorAdventures always my pleasure to Juddie
Looks like you guys are ready. Im going to try some tss this year. Try to get some this weekend then a video 👍
Brian, I sure hope we are! I hope I remember to put the shotgun in my truck when I leave the house this time. LOL I know nothing about the tss, I am just old school, I like my lead shot. Especially for my 870 Wingmaster and my 1100 and the reason for that is they don't use choke tubes. I don't want to shoot anything that is hard in those two shotguns. I really need to get me one of those shot pans they use to make lead shot. I have the lead, I can make bullets for my rifles and my handguns, even my muzzleloaders, but I can't make shot for my shotguns. Maybe when I retire I can build me the shot pan, I have seen some videos on it. Look forward to seeing your video, maybe I can learn something about the tss. Thanks for watching and commenting. @@JnJTrueOutdoorAdventures this will be my first time using any don’t know much about it myself
Yep almost that time again, Guys both look like u ready to go 👍 . Juddie I been running a 660 choke in my Winchester 1300 for 30 years love it , Guys if you can find them for about 5 years I been shooting Winchester XR 6 shot , I have harvest a lot of turkeys threw the years but them XR 6 are awesome 👍.
Yes, it is, Lonnie. My vest is already packed and all I have to do is to remember to take the shotgun with me this year. LOL I made a mistake on the size of the Jeb's choke tube I have, it is a .665, I think I said it was a .655. I will look around and see what I can find. I know that for a while it was hard to find any ammo. Starting to see more and more on the shelves now. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Looks like you guys are ready to go won't be long good shooting!
We sure are, Dan, and we can't wait to get in the woods on opening morning. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA
Just found your channel and I subscribed. Good video guys. Definitely love hunting videos, I only have a Savage Stevens 320 12 gauge home defense model 18.5 barrel. I want to get the field model to turkey and squirrel and rabbit hunt better then what I have but I'm thankful for what I have. Good luck and hope yall get some gobblers down this season and make videos. I will definitely give yall some shootouts in some videos to help yall get more followers.
God Bless From Oklahoma
Thanks, for sub'ing and watching, Josh. We as well love watching hunting videos, especially from different regions of our country and from real hunters and not the TV star hunters. Sounds like a nice shotgun and the thing is shotguns are very versatile firearms. When I started out over 40 years ago, I had an old Brazilian made 12-gauge single shot shotgun that my mother bought me. When I graduated high school and got a job my very first pump action was a Mossberg 500 12-gauge. Thanks for watching, commenting and sub'ing to the channel. Juddie - J & J TOA
