At 7:00 it makes you wonder if Chuchu can give an exceptional punch for her size or if the snooty Spacians just can't take a decent hit. Because the first girl got folded like origami.
I'd say both.
You gotta remember most of these kids are the sons and daughters of the ultra rich and have never had to work for anything in their lives. They're at the most elite school in the solar system being trained so they can just be handed executive level positions on a silver platter. That girl had probably never had a finger laid on her in her life.

A shame we didn't get to see the Demi Barding in all of it's glory, so many cool features that we didn't get to see in the anime.

I appreciate the effort the artists and animators put in to make the Demi Trainer feel so robotic. It actually reminds me of Honda's ASIMO, a machine very carefully crafted over decades to reliably perform numerous unremarkable humanoid actions without falling or breaking apart. While that may seem unimpressive relative to most Mobile Suits - and other fictional mecha - a Demi Trainer is really all you'd want or need in most circumstances.
If only Chuchu managed to get a jet pack. Being able to go 3 times faster than the others would be fitting for her.

Good point at the end where the suit looks like jeturk design, but dominic (is that the name) did seem to partner with jeturk in the ending, so the MS could be a collaboration effort between jeturk & dominic.
At 3:05 you mention the quad barrel arm as being referred to as a missile launcher in secondary material but appearing as a beam machine gun/gatling gun in the anime, however in the clip afterwards, look at the Haros in the flight units. They weren't actually hit with anything, nor were any beams in the air. Rather, they beep, and then fall down. It's entirely possible that it is actually a missile launcher, and in the training clip was not loaded with live ammunition, but rather the Demi Trainer unit was sending data to the Haro flight units that they would have been hit, had it been using live ammunition, and the haros drop out of the air to simulate being shot down.
This would also make sense within universe, as why would you waste the production and transportation costs for all the ammunition, and replacing the Haro drone things, when you can just imitate it, which would still work well enough as a training exercise, without any of the replacement costs.

If they just gave us a little OVA of the Barding in action I'd kill to see that. It's a shame it never got a proper battle. I would have loved to see Chuchu and Suletta fighting side by side.
I'd say it got plenty of proper battles, every battle with it was "proper", what it needed was a fair battle.
And I mean, Gundam ain't known for those, but still.
Tbf when the barding was out in space, the units they were up against were literal army killer level drones, so pretty much chuchu and many of the student pilots then don't have the skill experience to match, and would have been a extreme one sided fight
@@Brydzs Yeah, the thing about Eri-al and her Gundnode drones is that she would flock her enemy with her drones, so 1v1 against one drone MS would be nearly impossible cause Eri would send more than one 🤔🤔🤔
There's something to be said for "cheap and cheerful" mobile suits, something I am sure you can concur with as the resident GM and Dagger superfan.
If they don't anounce a melee variant of the Barding and name it after Chuchu in someway i'm going to be very sad, also i want that melee variant to come with dual hammers.

Really sucks the Demi Barding didn't get to fight in space. Like other people said, Chuchu isn't experienced enough to fight side by side with Suletta against Eri's Gundam drones. But they could've at least done something similar to the Batman & Wonderwoman versus Parademons. Chuchu is having a heated battle with one drone while Suletta is almost finished with the rest of the army during that time.
Or at least show us how Chuchu is using that rifle mace agaisnt a Gundvolva.
Well, in my opinion that's really actually fine the way it went. Except there's false advertising in the opening video about the Barding fighting together with Suletta.

I think that hand weapon actually is a missile launcher. The clip shown was using the Demi Trainer for simulated shooting exercises which had it act more like a laser tag gun than a missile launcher since it deactived the targets rather than shooting it down.
With that much work for the MS design, we rarely see ChuChu MS fighting :\
We rarely had any actual MS combat in the show. There are episodes, plural, at a time where we don't even see them moving.
Chuchu's trainer is basically the MS-05 Zaku I Sniper, yea? Like, outdated, tan paintjob, big gun attached to the backpack via a cable. Probably pretty obvious, now that I think about it.
In my school vr game, ChuChu was finally involved in the game, but on a subflight unit protecting the Calibarn and Eri from undead mobile suits while she in the demi trainer chuchu custom but the unit got downed by a undead zwart heavy

It's possible that the "quad-barreled missile launcher" option on the Demi-Trainer is a smoothbore cannon, which would allow it to fire missiles. And... maybe beams, I guess? WfM tech can be weird sometimes.

Good luck with your wait Bandai has a long history of not producing model kits that everyone requests and says they want but in the end it's usually nothing but a pipe dream, hell we're lucky we got the HG Leo, I know for a fact we'll probably never get the HG Tallgeese and Taurus. And then if they do come out with it'll probably be p-bandai like the GN-X IV.

For the Demi-Trainer's quad-barrel missile launcher, it's possible that it was displayed differently in the anime than the model kit due to safety reasons.
The Asticassia's school's barrier might not have worked against explosives should they've missed the Haros (and, I don't think one would use actual explosives on them), and I think the ban on physical weapons were also for the inside of Fronts, not just space.
Presumably, should they be used in live combat on Earth (where pollution is not a concern for Spacians), they would use actual missiles instead of beams used for targeting practice.
could also be a training variant, where the actual launcher isn't something like guided missiles but more like gyrojet bullets that can't track targets, and the system used by the school instead has a laser pointer that can't actually deal damage in case of misfire/intentional misuse(suleta was able to rush after chuchu immediately after she started punching, so another student might have been able to just shoot at any audiance)
Loving these "development of" vids, they're a really easy and entertaining way to deepen my understanding of these MS

I adore this line. I have a fascination with civilian use MSs, which are an odd rarity. While not strictly civilian models, the Demi series ticks all the right boxes for a cheap, all purpose mobile suit- as capable of warding off an enemy attack as it is doing construction work.
I honest want a 5 pack of the Demi Trainer. I have watched most if not all of Gundam series and read most manga, and i can easily say Demi Trainer and Demi Garrison are my favourite mass produced ms.
The Demi Barding reminds me of the grunt style Veritech Fighters from Robotech (haven't seen the original Macross so don't know if they come from that too).

Mano I love the Demi Trainer design and modularity.
I love how grounded all the suits are in GWFM. The designs are not outrageous (e.g. Seed Destiny, Freedom). Armors and weapons are fairly standard and the suits are not walking bombs that explode with 1 hit (e.g. GWing OZ suits).
May be the MS(Ad stellar 125) from Ep 24 final part is the joint development of Jeturk Heavy Machinery and Burion company???
How to use long range weapon :
Normal pilot : shot and run
Chucu : shot, run, charge, club mode

Kinda makes compare it to the Zaku. Versatile agile and able to be modified with an inch of its life.
Also Chuchu needs a chill pill as that is a criminal waste of Beam Weapons. Something tells me she would be happier with a melee unit.

I neverr really care about grunt unit before, but WFM design is so good that it made me appreciate grunt units.
Question #1: What if the White Base was not destroyed at the end of the One Year War? ( What if the White Bases engine never got destroyed during the battle of a baoa quo?)
Question #2: What if Tem Ray never got sucked into outer space when side 7 was attacked?
The White Base probably would have been decommissioned by the titles along with the other Pegasus class ships.
If Ray had not been sucked out into space then he probably wouldn't have gotten brain damage and remained with the Federation forces. After that it would depend on if he got aboard the WB, stranded on Side 7 or captured by Zeon. But in any of those cases, I think it would have ended with a better resolution between him and Amuro.

She's great at melee but uses a long range unit. She's a lot like Trowa.

Hey Kakarot, is there any lore for how Lfrith's shield and Aerial's estucheon block beams?
i assume that there's some kind of I field equivilant, using strong magnets to deflect the energy. would also explain how they combine into a shield, as in the prolouge the lfrith has them in that combined physical shield mode before getting hit with the anti gundam radiation thing, and then the shield just falls apart into it's component bits.
Well, there is a mention of a powerful Lorentz Force being detected when it was used suggesting some kind of powerful magnetic field. Also, according to the Gunpla, the Schwarzette also had this feature, though it never got to show it off.

Also, we can then surmise beam rifles shoot charged particles, unlime in UC where they shoot electrically neutral mega particles.
