@@Kevincarlloven not like contact. The arrival is more of an actiony B-series kind of movie. It’s very entertaining and i recommend to watch it with friends.
@@Kevincarlloven 🤮 That movie was terrible! I waited 2hrs watching that movie to see the alien and it was her f*#king father… Every time I see David Morse in a movie now I say “hey it’s the alien from Contact.”
One of my fondest memories of going to the movies is seeing Dragonheart with my mother and youngest sibling. Having rewatched it somewhat recently, though, I'll admit that it may not hold up super well. The music is still great, however.
I saw The Arrival in a nearly empty theater the week it came out. As a fan of both hard science fiction and Fifties alien invasion movies, I loved it, and was glad S&E as well as Harlan Ellison agreed with me.
I watched Dragon heart just at my 7 years old and it had a great impact on me...and well, I think all my generation felt the same. And well, the story is basicly a medieval dark fairytale for all family
I watched all of these movies, with the exception of Eddie, on repeat when I was a kid. Some hold up better than others, but I am surprised that they each held my attention, considering that there were long scenes of drama and exposition within them. And my goodness, the clips they show in this episode pretty much spoil all the movies reviewed.
Very good batch of movies here. The arrival is very underrated...Sheen n silver are great in it. Mission impossible is a fun movie n has a good twist...Henry Czerny is underrated.
True but I think it's the best film because it's the only one that has both suspense and action. Brian De Palma directed a film, the others are just producer machines.
Same I was 6 and blown away by the commericals, but didn't see it until it came out on VHS. The biggest takeaway was the ad for T2-3D, which made me a lifelong James Cameron and Arnie fan.
Mission Impossible (the movie) has SO little to do with the television series, it is almost insulting. Peter Graves was asked to reprise his role as Jim Phelps, but he refused when he learned the character's fate. And Greg Morris (Barney Collier) was so disgusted by the film, he supposedly walked out in the middle. I don't know if any other original cast members, but I recall Martin Landau (Rollin Hand) said that the film desecrated everything the original series stood for. I would agree. I have not been able to watch ANY of the Mission films because they are not Mission. They are vanity projects for Tom Cruise.
The first one was so confusing that I stopped watching. MI2 was decent, but MI3 was basically a series of stunts with an oh-so-familiar plot. I haven't seen the other ones.
I will say that if I was a fan of the TV show, I would understand the frustration. However, I like that first film regardless of it's messy storyline. That is really the only film in the series that actually feels like the work of a director. The other films are just stunt machines.
Turns out Dragonheart’s greatest contribution is providing the score to trailers forever.
True lol but I do love Connery as the dragon
R.I.P. Sean Connery and Ron Silver.
The first MI film is still the best one.
It’s good….But ghost protocol is a little better
@@ReelRadical Nah. Just a stunt machine. The De Palma film had a director with vision behind it, it's something akin to Hitchcock.
@@ricardocantoral7672 it is a good movie. Love Depalma. I just love the pacing of ghost protocol and that hallway art gallery scene it’s just great
Better at least than the second one.
The Arrival, it's good.
Is it like "Contact"? That was pretty good till the very end.

“I am the lasht one!” Only thing I remember from Dragonheart.
"i like the dragon"
Mission: Impossible was Impossible to follow when I first saw it.
Yup. That's why I stopped watching.

It doesn't hold your hand and requires your undivided attention
The problem with SPY HARD was that it came out too late. By the time it was released, it just felt old and wheezy.
"Red Light.. Green Light.!!"
The American President was pretty good , actually . It’s pretty charming and underrated .
couldn't agree more it's one of the few movies that i can watch over and over again.
It's a good movie, but I don't see what the big deal was about.
@@reneedennis2011 Paint by numbers romantic comedy. Very well acted movie. Just boring g and predictable.
@@travismcdonald6576 Yup.
I hate that “the president is just a regular guy” bullshit. Get real. Regular crook more like it.
I remember being fascinated by the trailer and TV spots for Dragonheart, but upon seeing it, thought it was pretty bad. 👎🏻
Same here. I was actually hyped for it but I’m not sure I even finished watching it when I rented it.

There was a TV show?

Yikes, the Dragonheart CGI has aged very poorly. It seemed revolutionary at the time.
