  • Jumi Cheese sells the Blue Brain cheese in London's Borough Market. The cheese gets its moldy exterior by maturing in a humid cave. While the exterior scares some at first, after some explaining, many enjoy the flavor and compare it to blue cheese.

I think it's funny that so many people are asking if it's okay to eat the mold or if they'll get sick from it.
People have been eating moldy cheeses like Stilton and Roquefort for hundreds of not thousands of years without issue. Then there's the outside covering of cheeses like brie and camembert. That's a type of mold.
They wouldn't give it to you and have you eat it if it was poisonous.

Andra Lopez not even close. Mold isn't all bad. Yeasted bread molds are bad and so is black mold, but it's mainly a fungi as well, just like mushroom (and you cant eat every kind of shroom) the mold of cheese is actually a rich and delicate (and often so healthy) growth. Most cheese itself is mold, unless its cheap and processed. In the end it won't kill you, yet it may help your stomach bacteria.

You have basically drunk mould wee- alcohol is the byproduct of fermentation of sugars by a fungus (yeast). Yoghurt is milk with bacteria added to thicken it. You can't escape mould, it's everywhere, and some of it is very Tasty!
