I love how when megatron enters the vault the animation get's smoother for that scene.
This story has an element of The Italian Job behind it. Except Megs double crossed the doubler crosser. Cryotek did SO not see that coming. He tried to play Megs but Megs played him
RIP Brad Venable. I had no idea he was in this, and only because of his passing did I find myself coming here to watch this (for the first time).
What an irreplaceable talent gone way too soon.

Beast wars really needs a prequel series.
I can imagine a season of Rampage wrecking havoc on cybertron.
Or watching Cryotek running a criminal enterprise and recruiting a group of thugs to steal the golden disc.
Maybe throw some of the maximals in there somewhere.

If there’s one type of transformers toy line we need, it’s all the Beast wars characters in their original Cybertronian forms.
If this gets redone graphic wise I'd make them close to protoforms in frame.Not as frail but a good design form.Just due to the fact that the clunky look makes it hard to believe they easily assumed the beast forms correctly.

If I were to make a Beast Wars game today where you have both a Maximal and Predacon campaign, this is how I would start the Predacon story.
I'd love to see a revival series with modern animation and graphics... would be fantastic... but the original will probably always be the best because it is a classic.

It had the old 3D animation feel to it which I liked. As crude as it may have been, it really got me thinking that it was a sorta pilot episode to the Beast Wars.
I really wish they could have gotten Scott to be a part of this. Would have loved a bit of banter from Dinobot and Waspinator

This would've been a great inclusion into the actual Beast Wars cartoon. It would lend tons of interesting backstory to the Maximals and Predacons, very similarly to what the G1 Transformers cartoon did for the Autobots and Decepticons.
2:35 looks like this "type" of transformation was used to create upgraded Red Alert in "Transformers Cybertron"
The Megatron toy was a repaint of Cybertron Red Alert with a new head.

A great piece that tells the first chapter in what is perhaps the best Transformers story of all time!
I can't believe there are a few who have the balls to complain about the efforts of all involved- from what I can gather this was a straight labour of love, and it didn't cost any of us a cent to watch. I thought it was very good!

I loved it, Beast wars and Beast Machines was the greatest transformers story ever told and it all connected with G1 making it all the better, This is a worthy addition, Great job Im super impressed

He did start doing it again as the show went on. Having the Maximals around again seemed to have made Megatron return to his original personality.
By the end of BM he was in full classic Beast Megatron mode.
This is fantastic. An outstanding prequel to Beast Wars.
Huh, that bot at 2:28, the one whose blaster Terrorsaur had used to kill Buzzbomb, looks like a pre-Beast Wars Tigatron. I just noticed that now.
It is Tigatron. There was a convention exclusive toy of it.

"Theft of the Golden Disc" began life as a dialogue-less fan animation by Trent Troop and Kristen Maxwell posted to CZcams on May 9, 2006. The finished, canon remake was originally shown at Sunday, July 1, 2007, at the BotCon 2007 "Collectors' Club" panel. It premiered online on January 8, 2008.

Cryotek, Deathsaurus, Magmatron(Beast Wars Neo), BW2 Galvatron and Gigatron(RID 2001 Megatron who I consider a different character) are characters I love to see return in a future series. I know Cryotek was only a mentor of Megatron and not a Predacon leader but still being above Megatron in rank makes a big impression.

A S R He's talking about the some of the molds the character models are using. They used G2, Armada, Energon and Cybertron figures for the bases.
Which their molds fit quite well. Glad some became figures in 2006 botcon
The other disk was of alien origin. Megatron and the Preds stole this one on Cybertron - the other was discovered in a volcano by Inferno in... "Before the Storm," I think, in season one.

What I loved about Beast Wars was the Protoform concept. I would loved to see them shed their vehicle forms to go back to Protoform when they board the Darksyde.
Except they still had their vehicle forms when they crashed on Earth. They simply re-scanned and used the CR chambers/CR tanks to reformat themselves. Protoforms are like children; they're the earliest stage of Cybertronian life, and usually don't have anything fully developed.

Considering the second disk was found on prehistoric Earth and wasn't of Cybertronian origin, there was no way ANY Predacon, or Maximal for that matter, could have known about it.

I don't know when this video was made, but the toy for Dinobot seen here is from Botcon 2006. I almost went to it, but I was in high school with no money.
This was made for Botcon 2006 and the Dawn of Future's Past story they had going on at the time, stretching to the figure set.
Megatron and Waspinator are also based off their BotCon toys. Everyone else just uses scanned-in models of UT-era toys that weren't made into actual figures. Would make some great customs however...

Would have been a million times better if Scott McNeil had been involved (that way Dinobot would not only be AWESOME(!) but also get some speaking lines!). Still, very good piece that adds more background to the Beast Wars series. A must for any fan!!!

Excellent work! For those naysayers... for crying out loud, it's not pros doing this. Enjoy it for what it is--a nice addition to the Beast Wars story that we wouldn't have at all if those behind this didn't put their own blood sweat and tears into it.

At 5:18, there seems to be a virtual blueprint for the vehicon thrust. So did Megatron steal these data from Cryotek upon coming back to Cybertron to create the Vehicons?
It would also explain how he got the robot servant. I know that he did steal the freezing transformation virus from Cryotek.

@TheHumbleFellow I can't remember source, but I think somewhere in comics it was mentioned he was always called Dinobot as a reference to the fact he descended from Grimlock. But I am not sure if that's considered canon or not.

@kennyscott11 most of them were made from old armada, energon and cybertron bodies presumably to save money. plus that years botcon toys are reuses of old toys too. most of the maximals are made out of cyberton clocker. cryotek is shockblast, megs is cybertron defense red alert, dinobot is hoist, waspinator and dirge are BWII dirge, scorponok is shortround, terrosaur and backslash are skyblast and buzzbomb is cyclonus

It's clunky because it's a fan made video made for a Hasbro convention, and it seems they liked it so much that they decided to canonize this

it probably was cyclonus, they were on cybertron after all so a lot of familiar autobots and decepticons were still there(well, the ones that survived "the great war")
well in the episode ravage came optimus said that a few of decipticons were granted amnesty and lived with everyone else while some(like ravage) were converted to predacons
