I don't know about you but Beast Wars CGI blew me away as a 12 year old when it first aired, it was top quality for '96, obviously it doesn't hold up as well today. This is worst, but it was really just a big fan service to Beast Wars fans and I personally thought it was awesome for what it was. If you thought it was "worst" than BW, obviously you weren't a fan of the original series which makes me wonder why you even bothered with this...
So in order it goes Dawn of the Predacus, Theft of the Golden Disk, Dawn of Future's Past, Beast Wars, Beast Wars: The Gathering & Ascending, and...Beast Machines.
And in the Netflix War of Cybertron trilogy, it was a voice mail from megatron of the future to tell himself of the past that he was a d*ckhead and should have listened the Optimus.
+Teen Tails Actually, this Golden Disk was made by Humanity, not G1 Megatron. It's the very same disk that was placed on the Voyager 1 which was launched in 1977, 7 years before the Autobots and Decepticons on the Ark reactivated.
It is official, this was created for botcon 2006 (the official transformers convention at the time). Many of the designs for the characters in this animation were made into exclusive toys for the convention. Good luck getting any of them though, they are worth quite a lot on the secondary market (that’s if you can even find any). (Side note: it is unclear if this is cannon to the series, but it is definitely official)
I see a whole bunch of future transformer designs. I think i saw Cyclonus, Smokescreen from Armada. I mean jeez it's like they practcally took all of the future forms from this thing.
Fun Fact: the Golden Disks (two of them) are indeed real, and was sent out as a "cultural time capsule" into deep space.
That raises an interesting question. If Cybertron got one of the Golden Disks, what happened to the other one?

not everyone liked it and besides Transformers Trans Tech was cancelled in development because of poor sales.

No war for cybertron takes placce before Prime not G1. It never was going to take place before G1 and it will never take place before G1.
