You’re a legend in my shed, Ned
@@NedRushif you do a show there I’m pulling up on God
Best push 3 content on CZcams. Everyone else received a push 3 and made bare bones content with it. You make a whole video detailing about the push. Bravo 🎉
"I'm touching the flanger..." Ned, I've missed your voice. I always come back. Love it.
Damn! Opening jam is 🔥
Tell me about it
unbelievable 🔥
0:01 Push 3 Jazz Fusion? Hell yeah!
this video negates all the complain oriented videos about the push 3. thank *YOU* Ned Rush 🙏
So very cool. Amazing work. Thank you. This is very inspiring
Super solid video! Thanks for sharing!
Great Video Ned. Thank you.
I'm amazed how fast you aquired the knowledge about the Push to make things happen in MPE that most of us won't find out in years ☺
OMG... best content as always... amazing push 3 demo .. wow
Thanks so much for this!
Loving how you're using the MPE here. 👏👏👏
Unreal! Great job! :D
Very cool to see an actual realistic workflow video! Also the pad effects are absolutely genius. You could set up a full performance mixer on the 64 pads! Mindblowing. I need to get myself one
Yessssss! A return of the jazz fusion patch
THAT was key! Subscribed!!!
Nice watch on the right bottom!! I had one. Nice clues, amazing content.
love the MiniDisc so nostalgic
To change the position of a device in a chain you can hold the button down and then use the knob above it to move it! 👍🏼
Always excellent content Ned. Thank you! Have you considered doing a vid on Fors Opal?
Sick!!!!!!!!
תודה!
absolute legend
Probably the best youtuber at the moment, i don´t know if i see your videos cause the content or because of you
Bro your amazing
Wooooow... there are just certain sounds you can only achieve with the MPE. This is encouraging for the usefulness of Push 3. Really wanna get my hands on a Push 3 for the synthesis purposes after this. So many possibilities! And the ability to record some clips/scenes away from the studio... Incredible.
With a setup like that on the pads, I could just sit there for hours just jamming out!
Seriously considering buying the standalone push 3 now!
Love this!! Also nice description, chatGPT?
it looks like it needs a completely new workflow, but its totally worth it. the control you have and also kind of dont have is such a cool change from the precision you gain by working in a daw. do you recommend it for someone who never owned a standalone device like that?
I have a push 2 and absolutely love it. I want to upgrade so badly so I don’t need to tether to my laptop. You’re such an inspiration man! Love your stuff. Is the push 3 any brighter than the push 2 when not using wall power? Push 2 is almost impossible to use outside or in a bright room unless plugged in.
Finally a use of MPE that actually looks exciting.
Oh hell yea!
Ok... this is really very very good.
Damn! Was hoping it wouldnt be this good... not helping the GAS! Thanks Ned - cant wait to see where you go with this!
don't fight it :)
24:20 Spitting Straight Facts!!!!!
So good. Love what you do. How are you auto triggerring the bass and drums at the same time in the first jam? Maybe a vid on that?
I already did in 2016. czcams.com/video/AcMFIIMlPU4/video.html
That just blew me away. Only 3 mins in ;)
Great video. Does the push 3 standalone count as a computer with regards to the Live licence? I think you can run Live on two computers at the same time... I'm wondering if the push 3 would count as one of those computers? I don't have one to test it.... yet.
That's the place where (a)social media went - negative about something, get loud about it and amplify other negatives! Find something you like - you just use it and have fun ...
Great stuff as always, Dr. Rush. I’m still on the fence as to whether I need a Push 3 or not. I’m kind of hoping Akai will release a new APC40 soon. Do you think that will happen any time soon?
There you go: APC64 ;)
Had just ordered my Push 3, when I stumbled onto your channel & this vid.
I'm so glad I didnt listen to all the HATERZ, (they almost convinced me:)
Made my day seeing a rock \ chick corea \ david weckl \ prog rock performance on this thing.
Now Ableton, please dont let me down and send me a buggy unit.....lol..................but really , dont ;)
One question, sorry if its stupid, just want to verify the drum pad set you made at the end will fully work in Standalone? Thx Liked & Sub
also would be awesome if you could try out the elektron model: samples
catching a big The Herbalizer vibe from this
Slick groove, daddyo
That feedback patch is actually bloody good, and I’m a complete snob
Please do a vid on how you mad that kit in the opening jam…. And just more Push 3 content in general please
According to CZcams I already did 7 years ago. czcams.com/video/AcMFIIMlPU4/video.html
@@NedRushexcellent! Thanks so much for the link
Ned, are familiar with Novation’s Launchpad app? It’s actually a bridge app that got me into Ableton when I barely understood what could be done with Live. If you are not familiar, its an iOS app that gives you six rows of loops and clips and two rows of effects to fill the 8x8 grid. Pressing on the effects lets you add stops, delays, filters, gating, repeats, etc. to their ‘scenes’ or ‘tracks’. What you’ve done here in the momentary fx part of this video is duplicate how that app applies effects to sounds, but-with MPE expression that the little app could never allow. I wonder if I could duplicate that same setup and have the luxury of ‘expression’ with my effects, and perhaps go way beyond! I guess I’m soon joining your Patreon………….
3:39 was the moment I clicked the like button on this video 😂
Could you do this on the master track to have DJ like effects over the whole mix?
Probably.
hay Ned!
pls do another autechre tutorial! i would love to see it
Immediate minimilist modern horror score. Just read Under The Skin by Michael Faber and then watched film based on it (losely) and this happens to be exact soundscape. I think you'd enjoy both the novel and film. Imagine AFX authored a sci fi novel and then Jonathan Glazer adapted it.
Hey Ned Rush, I'm really glad you're sharing musical content with us! However, try to improve the sound of your microphone because right now it sounds like it's coming from a really strange place. I believe with better sound quality, we'll be able to enjoy your music even more. Good luck and keep evolving!
No.

Tips on getting this good
This is wizardry! I’m following along and I can’t see how to create a mix bus inside the drum rack, how do you do that? I see that the 808 kit already has one but I’m struggling to figure out how to create a new one. Thanks!
You need to open the IO in the drum rack and create a chain then route all of the cells to that chain.
@@NedRush thanks so much!
Can you use expression control in standalone mode? I’d like to see how that looks and functions on the Push screen.
Yes and no. As per all the Max stuff where you can map parameters.
What a messy desk! (P.S. I had that Casio watch)(P.P.S. Amazing finger drumming!)
Sick finger drumming!
what in the miles davis was this?
@Les Sondiers - Tu as vu ce qu'on peut faire avec. C'est un peu comme le Lock mode de Maschine. Plutot barré
You have lovely hands
The imitation of the whining is SPOT ON.
Fuckin class !
thanks for washing your hands. music is a rotted one ned.
Jazz........nice
3:44 this all you need to know
Not sure if this mentioned but you chose the position to move a device with the encoders
I don’t have ableton 11 yet but push2 still has MPE right??
No
Update!!
Push 2 has polyphonic after touch.
i love your big natural hands
😂
MPEInception.
Why bother if you can easily and much faster just move the mouse with the pc. Might have been more interesting if it had 3rd party VST integration. At least from the most popular brands out there. I like the slide pads tho.
The VST part is definitely a problem.
But Push 3 standalone runs on Linux, so there is not much hope for VST in the future. There are very few developers supporting Audio stuff for Linux.
Too bad ableton decided to stop selling thru retailers…
Lol
I just have to say uuuhhuummnnnggggnnnuhhuuuhhhhhhjmmnngngnnn
