There's a saying that "shooters shoot." And, whether you're in a game or in the gym by yourself, that statement remains the same. In today's video, Coach Drew is brining you drills for the latter; 18 unique drills that you can do by yourself to become that elite shooter you know you're meant to be. The key is, though, be sure to listen to all of Coach Drew's teaching point and microskill details; those are what will truly set you apart more than the drills itself.

For everyone complaining about his elbow sticking out, it's not that big of a deal if there's a consistent shot path to follow through that keeps the ball straight. Elbow aligned is more textbook (and how I prefer to shoot and would teach it), but it also requires a turn in the shoulders and hips to reduce shoulder strain. This makes certain movements more asymmetric depending on which side you're on. E.g. step backs and pull ups feel very different depending on whether they are to the left or right and the balance involved is significantly different
A slight elbow out allows you to keep your chest more square to the basket without extra shoulder strain. I think Coach Drew's form makes it easier to have a consistent base on many off of the dribble/off the move shots because there is less asymmetry in the lower body. This extra consistency may be a bigger benefit than the small inconsistency of an elbow out shooting motion.
I'm a shooter and have trouble with quick release, this really helped me out.
Great coaching and energy, your sincerities and efforts are amazing, thanks to your energy and patient, appreciate a lot, I watch everyday and trying to absorb every detail of your show and impart to kids 11 - 14 years in my localities basketball half court areas in the Batman Park Brampton, Canada.
The baseball game is a Great method to train for quick shooting , thank you I'll implement with my youth.
It's a fun one :)

That's what we're here for :)
One of my fav coaches
Thanks coach
Me when I shoot lazy: Air ball or Brick
Me with a fast shot: *Swish*
You're inconsistent with your shot
Same with me. I think I found out that it’s because when I shoot faster my wrist flicks more which helps with the shot arc. 11 months late but I hope this helps lol
@@jasonmejia9715 how do I fix that???
Opposite
Thanks a lot ❤
When you are about to shoot off the dribble or off the catch. You you adjust your ball angle to centre or should you shoot when your hand is already on the ball.please answer thanks so much
Thanks for helping me for my poor jumpshot...
I get better every time I watch
What could I do to eliminate the ball coming off my ring finger? My shot always feel off to the right
Thanks I remember my high school coach was telling us to turn after our shot because Steph Curry does it last summer. Good to know that it is more beneficial for me to finish straight-on.
You’re coach is really dumb lol. Just cause Steph does it. Steph does it very good and very consistently but it’s not fundamental, if you can shoot it that way, cool, but practice without.
I mean just because steph does is doesn’t mean that it will work for you. I mean it works for stephs specific size and form, if your different from steph in that way, you have to have your own jumpshot with your own technique
Always helpful
Go coach
Bro tf this shit work no cap I feel bad for scrolling past this video so many time Coach Drew da 🐐 fr
I Wonder why this channel is so underrated tho

Hey I’m shorter than most players of my age so I was wondering on some tips to make space between me and taller players
Hi I'm from Philippines this is so very helpful to the players that want to improve like me thank you for all your tips gonna keep that in mind thanks again imma do this and watch some of your tutorial videos as well
when i shoot i feel wierd when stiches are messed up, how can i fix them?
There's actually a reason they twist...It's called alignment. Kobe (rest his soul) had it and Jordan had it.
GOD bless💕🙏🏾
Dude I keep trying to get better at shooting and I can’t get better but I’m really good at layups and floaters so I’m kinda a slasher.
Shoot form shots everyday start close to the basket move back when you make 3 swishes in a row. This helps me a lot
DanielleBball how far back do you go
thats for free insaaane big thanks
i need help left hand shooting. it just feels weird shoot like that and i dont know how to improve it.
Try right maybe?
Are you left handed?

I have problems with me releasing and the ball coming off of ring and pinky finger. Tips/help?
Put the pump on the basketball in between your index and middle fingers try to feel the ball roll off both fingers then form shoot off of the side of the backboard so it comes back to you
How many times a day should I do a scoring/shooting workout.
i do it 10 minutes before a game
If my release was as quick on the court as in the bedroom I would be poppin nets
haven't heard that one before, lmao
@@ball1slife107 lol
Bro is fearless 💀
The problem with the study is people twist a lot to fade away or get away from the defense and typically when they twist it is off the move. When they dont twist they are wide open and it is typically a stand still shot so obviously they will shot higher because it's just an easier shot.
also some people when they twist it's really obvious that they're gonna do it so it's easy to follow them
I hope I can do this on quarantine
I got no coach so this is all CZcams drill is my coach
🎉
Why do you jump forward when you are shooting your shot?
Do you guys respond?

I watched this once and instantly became a sniper 🙏
What if I never miss on the baseball shooting challenge
Damn you left all set then
Anyone else apart of Drew’s text community
Everybody watching this, pls dont shoot with your elbow out like this guy. Bring it in so it’s perpendicular with the ground, your shot will be much more accurate and you wont have to compensate with your wrist and fingers as much. Notice the difference between Curry and Thompson’s shooting form vs. this guy.
Your elbow is irrelevant. Your shooting hand should be under the ball. You lift point should be in a position where your wrist extends in a straight line to the rim.
Your elbow position is secondary to these two fundamentals. It just so happens that many people's elbows will be more adducted.
Please don't gave your elbow above your head either... you want your elbow crease to be eye level no higher than forehead on finish
I agree
Just sharing you this, as Romans 6:23 says, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. God loves you so much that he sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to pay the price of all our sins. After 3 days after he died,he rose up from the dead. He will accept you not matter what you been through or have done. Accept the lord Jesus Christ as you lord and savior and ask forgiveness of all your sins to be saved from sin and have eternal life and not go to hell Jesus is our only hope for salvation and the if you don’t accept him you will not heaven and you will go to hell if you don’t accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior
uh... why is his elbow out?
What is the brand of your ball he-he-he

His elbow is really wide open.
pull-up montage is out of order just so you know
For the love of God NEVER SHOOT with your feet completely square... right foot forward turned slightly to the left so everything is a straight line through your right leg , arm and eye
@shaq get some help\

Look at curry man
More action, less talk
Bro I'm really sorry to tell you this but you want your elbow crease to be at EYEISH LEVEL on release AND YOU NEVER BRING THE BALL DOWN ON THE SQUAT... that's too much motion for consistent release... but hey what do I know I only coached Theo Pinson, Wendell moore and 30+ other high school kids that went d1 and 8 overseas
