    Check the description for the start time of each of the 15 shooting drills. Also, at the end of the video Coach Drew runs through a 3 point challenge. For those players that take the challenge;
    1. Have someone record you doing it.
    2. Post your video to CZcams.
    3. Drop the link in the comments on this video.
    4. We'll give you a shout out here and in EGT Daily - our daily email that reaches over 200k people around the world.

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Před 7 lety +5

      Correct. Stick to the program but stay in the range where your form integrity remains. So your 3-point range will be the edge of your range before your shooting form breaks down. Know what I mean?

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Před 7 lety +2

      It's about quality versus quantity. If you're exhausted and your shot breaks down you're not doing yourself any good, you're actually doing harm.

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Před 7 lety +5

      You're welcome. However, there ways to train your shooting when you're tired to replicate late in the game scenarios. Run sprints and get winded and tired, and then shoot 10 free throws with your heart elevated and your breathing heavy. You can do the same with jumpers from certain spots on the floor. But limit the number of shots. And focus on QUALITY shots with GREAT form.
      Make sense?

They said it would be better to catch and immediately go into the shooting pocket and fire.

    I am a leftie but more comfortable shooting and getting into my shot with my right hand and left-right step, and whenever I try to do form shooting it seems my shooting elbow doesn't really extend and my whole shooting hand goes a bit to the left(don't really feel it when I shoot it, I saw it through a video and some people tell me I don't extend it and that it goes left).Any way I can fix that before getting into this workout and is there any video or tip for where should our shot pocket be?

    Man I don’t even have enough words to say about how great your videos are. This is my first time seeing your channel, I was only looking to see how I can prevent knee pain from playing ball and I’m so glad I stumbled upon your videos. Thank you for sharing the good knowledge, your a great man. I will try these drills by myself as I don’t have someone to throw me the ball after every shot. I would love to train with you or something like that if that were possible!

    Hey guys big problem
    I had a good shooting form, not perfect but still good. I could shoot 3s and mid-range perfectly but I just finished a camp and a coach change my form. It looks like a good form but I do not have the same average that I had. What should I do ? Practice my new form or start again with my old one ?
    Thanks guys and thanks coach for the video.

    Hi coach! First of all, I'm happy that your videos are straightforward. No BS; just straight to the point. Keep up the good work!
    This week, I started doing 25, all net, one handed shots with excessive bending (so my legs can get used to it) in the key in 3 spots. After that, I rest for like 2 minutes and then take 15 mid range one handed jumpers (same mechanics) in 5 spots everyday.
    I saw your post saying "For reference, the summer Steph rebuilt his shot he didn't shot outside of the key for 3 months." This had me thinking if I should still continue doing this until I'm super fundamentally sound or can I already start doing some of these drills? An advice would be gladly appreciated, seeing how you communicate with your viewers. Thanks !!!

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Před 7 lety

      Stay in the key for longer. Steph said it was one of the hardest and most painful things he's done in basketball, but look at his shot now; it's lightning quick, it's the same from 10 ft as it is from 30 feet and his form maintains integrity.
      Get to the point where your shot is net, net, net, net, from all over in the key (like you're doing), just do it longer until it's second nature and fight the urge to give in and shot outside the key. Even just playing around, stay disciplined.
      - Joe @ TeamEGT

    • @kennndrick2509
      @kennndrick2509 Před 7 lety

      Oh okay. Thanks. I sometimes fail to do the "fight the urge to give in and shot outside the key" hahaha. The results are SUPER great though.
      Is mid range considered in the "key"? Because I do one handed shots with them. After I become so proficient that I can barely miss, I'll move behind the 3 pt line.
      Or should I just stay in the paint and do like 500 shots?

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Před 7 lety

      Stay in the paint (same as the key) until you think you're truly ready to move outside (your shot is fluid, super consistent release and spin, seeing great results, etc... Once you're at that point stay in the key for a few more weeks. This is more about the process and developing discipline and super consistency than making a bunch of shots and hurrying to the 3-point line.
      - Joe @ TeamEGT

    • @kennndrick2509
      @kennndrick2509 Před 7 lety

      Thanks coach! I'll try to do that.
      Is the excessive bending necessary? Plus should my shot be super high (like my highest) because it gets a lot harder if I put more arc on it. Is above average acceptable enough or should I take the hard way?

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Před 7 lety

      It helps in warmups to get the body ready and some bending in gameplay is certainly necessary. Your shot needs arc with arc comes a "softer" shot that gets the good bounces instead of hard bricks off of the rim.

    why do we want to eliminate our left guide thumb from gripping the ball while shooting?

    • @DeepGameBasketball
      @DeepGameBasketball  Před 7 lety +1

      Think about it as "resting" your thumb rather than "griping." And the reason you want it is consistency, the offhand thumb can create issues with recreating your shot.
