Building a Manual Machine For Mountain Biking (NO Power Tools Used)
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 9. 03. 2021
- I build a bike manual machine out of a cedar log using only hand tools. Everything I made on this project is out of cedar wood including the rope! Getting to work each piece of this project by hand is such an amazing experience. I love every second I spend working on things like this. When you work with hand tools its an exercise thats fun and creative all at once! Let's get more intimate with wood, people!
Songs in order!

The most impressive thing was the rope you've made out of wood. I would never have thought of such a thing.
Seth in the next episode " hey guys I'm going to be forging and casting a bike from scratch"
I mean seeing what he can do I wouldnât be surprised đ
Donât give him any ideas đ
Nah it will be made of cedar of course.
@@patdrumm3770 gg tho
A wood bike would be sick!!!
So amazing Seth! How long did it take you?
Omg I love your vids
Just about a week! Maybe 5 days in total? Thanks for checking it out! Means a lot!
I looked away then i saw this comment randomly appear i love ur vids seth and eric!
@@BackyardTrailBuilds And how long to edit the vid? Good work.
11 minutes 51 seconds. đ
So satisfying!
Thanks, Paul!
@@BackyardTrailBuilds How long did this take

500 years front now, when the wood is prettified and explorers find it under 30ft of permafrost, they'll think it was some type of torture device. The future Mike Rowe will be the narrator.
I love this new wave of the channel not using any power tools. Itâs so fun to watch you just build!
Lol i dont like it
But he can fo whatever he wantsđ
Probably the nicest manual trainer ever made
when you forgot to charge your dewalt batteries
he might not be that good at riding, but at building, he is an absolute god
Lol thats all I want to hear.
@@BackyardTrailBuilds donât know if you will ever see this, but you need to ditch the chain when on the manual machine. You wonât have the tension of the pedals to keep ur balance like that. Because when no song forward your wheels will want to pedal. Itâs more like a balance bike than anything atm. Just here to help!
I love your vids and understand you needed a change but please make big features again
Yesssss totally agree
Next video will be the start of a NEW subscriber trail!
I could watch this everydayđđ đ
I tried to think of something funny to say about an all wood manual machine, but I'm stumped.
ooooh you little scallywag!
Awesome build.
He yabba dabba built it! I can see Bam Bam using it. đđđ”đŒââïž
You wood say something like that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are impressive. Your inginuity and craftsmanship leave me in awe. So cool. And no power tools. Bonus
You just made my Wednesday. School can wait, this is my morning break!
wassup mini mtb
@@andrewkelly7882 wassup!
I want to see the new mini trail
@@Emmettok Itâs coming. I promise. Iâm just waiting for the ground to dry. Right now it is all wet from the melting snow.
this is the best youtube video i have seen in months
You're videos are so satisfying to watch! Especially because you're only using your own two hands. Keep it up!
Love these videos with only hand tools. You should continue making them.
Dang that is awesome
Most people nowadays (including me) would not be able to make this without power tools
You can braide grass as well as cedar bark to get rope. Super Cool!
Man that was so dope to watch. Love these videos where you don't use power tools. đđŒ
best part is watching how much fun your are having
I'm moving into a place with a backyard this summer and I'm so excited to start learning some of this hand-tool woodworking. I love long, methodical projects like these and I'm stoked to have space to do them. Also the first song made me cry
This is my favorite video from you. Please do more vids like this!!!!!
You should build a wall ride it would be sick
This man deserves more subscribers
You are incredibly talented. I dont bike really and just watch because its cool watching people that love what they do. Keep up the good work man!
Mans has a passion for mountain biking, woodworking, and filmmaking!
Came for mtb, stayed for your music. You're maybe an even better musician than all the awesome mtb stuff you do. Diggin' it man.
As always, I'm blown away by your original music. Thanks for sharing it!
I can't even describe how much I love these videoes and the builds!
Once again knocked it out of the park!! Was gonna say is that new music of yours and then read in the description it was haha. When's the next EP / Album??
So stoked on this. I've been building some all natural trails and making all of my stunts out of hand cut black locust. I appreciate that you're moving toward a sustainable style. There is a lot to be learned here. You don't need an mtb hopper or a skid steer to have the best trail. You need to the the most creative. What we build will rot away in the forest eventually. It is so important to build sustainably. This is baller. Drop a line if you come ride pisgah.
That wood is like the coolest wood ever, it was sooo nice when u were carving into the red part
That red color of the wood is beautiful
I like this idea of just showing us your process, with music overlapping actual audio. I enjoy listening to your explanations too, but it's nice to mix it up! Keeps things interesting. awesome work man!
Well now that was therapeutic to watch, rather jealous of the timber available to you on your door step. Awesome manual machine
Your wood skills are amazing. I love how your combining old tech of wood working with new tech of Mtn biking. Just another way to show getting back to nature.....Which is why I love Mtn biking, getting outside.
Absolutely amazing and utterly ridiculous at the same time! I love it.
Man I frickin love those type of videos itâs just ssoo cool how you make something out of nothing
While you could've practically just learned to manual in the same amount of time, I am luuuuving this build!!
True craftsmanship!
this will be a classic video! it's all about the passion
To really get the most from a manual machine/ balance trainer, you should be doing it chainless. When rolling in a manual, the small amounts of forward rotation you may impart are usually not enough to have much resistance. In the manual machine the wheel being dead stopped allows you to load up the drivetrain to help you stay up.
This channel deserve more subscribers. This is so relaxing.
These videos are like mountain biking ASMR. I have really enjoyed them. How many hours would you estimate that project took?
Awesome build, this oneâs a banger!
