The most notable example was the Invincible used by Admiral Trench. The ship keausred over 2km long and over half a dozen times the size of the Invisible Hand.

    The acceleration of 2500G is equivalent to increasing your ship's velocity by 25 kilometers per second. Every second. With this we can easily infer that the Providence, and by extent most ships with engines of similar capabilities (I believe most Star Wars capital ships have this kind of acceleration) can literally transit from Earth to the moon (estimated 300000km) in less than three minutes. Within the context of Star Wars, the opportunity for these ships to engage one another, given weapons consistently have 100km range or less, is mere milliseconds. And that is being very generous. Basically, it makes no sense. That is, unless I'm horribly mistaking what the term "G" means in Star Wars.

    • @jacobbaumgardner3406
      @jacobbaumgardner3406 Před 2 lety +77

      It's one of those weird uses of numbers that make no sense. Every ship in Star Wars wiki has its own numbers, all absurd. Power of turbolasers are measured in gigatons, which in reality would mean each bolt fired could delete a country.

    Makes one wonder why ships designed to be manned by droids had such spacious corridors designed for humans and such small compliments of both dismounts and strike craft... especially since for droids former and latter are the same and unlike with human pilots, you don't need hangars, crew quarters and other dead weight, droids can just latch to the hull outside in the thousands or even tens of thousands.

    • @xgreywolf1525
      @xgreywolf1525 Před 2 lety +5

      That would make for a logical conclusion, but I would think it to be a more flexible design to have such large spaces for operation, as not only might you need to house thousands of organic individuals (given the circumstance), but droid personnel might be more easily transported through said corridors, that is if mechanical transport of this personnel fails during battle or may become inoperable through other means. Certainly, this point can be expanded upon, but having these logistical passageways can certainly allow for more design consideration in encountering circumstance.

    Wait so the normal "cruiser" variant is actually labeled as "dreadnought"? That must be confusing when they are referring to the much larger version.
    I though the "glass" in star wars ships was a type of see through metal and not actually glass (cause having that in space would be insanely stupid). Which would then raise the question of how G-man managed to "shatter" armor with a electro staff.

      Smaller version is the Carrier/Destroyer. The big Trench one is the Dreadnought.

    Some errors with this video
    Firstly, the Providence has 2 types, the Dreadnought is one of them, but the other is a Cruiser/Destroyer variant.
    The former is a 2 Kilometer long behemoth often used by the most prestigious of the Confederate Admiralty, Trench's personal flagship is one such example.
    The latter is a more main line capital ship, whilst not nearly as common as the Dreadnought, was by no means rare to see in larger numbers, as it was effectively the CIS counterpart to the Venator, and could be seen in direct combat rather than C&C Flagship duty fairly often.

    The CIS is basically the ultimate representation of what a fully automated military makes the dismissal of many technical and financial burdens including size not just affordable but desirable

  • @CS_Mango
    @CS_Mango Před 2 lety +1

    The cis has a military I would use. Only with minor changes. Such as the aat being completely swapped out and an atmospheric version of vulture Droid. I'd also remove the guns on the side of the ship used for the broad side close range fighting and add an array of spaced, Composite and explosive reactive armor. And the Creme de la Creme large ww2 cruiser style cannons (either kinetic or turbo lasers). While im at it, I may as well make a battle ship version of it. Something with Iowa style guns.

    • @sauron6064
      @sauron6064 Před 8 měsíci

      I’d replace the broadside cannons with some kind of long range and powerful missiles similar to some nuclear submarines.
