Thank you so much for this video. My 2002 X5 E53 now has 203,000 on it and still runs like a champ with the exception of the intermittent P0011 code. The timing is off, engine idles at 8000 instead of 6000, gas mileage got poor, upshifts are vastly delayed. Resetting the code seemed to help for a while. I am banking on this to be the cause. My Bimmer go to guy said I may have a stretched timing chain, but I don't believe it, I think this is the issue. I will let you know as soon as part is installed. PS I have 2011 E70 also and I still like the E53 handling and ride better. AC is cold, never been recharged. This has been an awesome car.

You explain replacing the intake solenoid, but im getting the exhaust solenoid code. are the two parts interchangeable? I know they are in different areas but the two solenoids seem to be the same dimensions. If you could respond that would be appreciated!

I have a stripped valve solenoid. There’s no clearance with the only 2 pieces left to grab a hold of the one I can get is just to close to the engine to get clearance to move the wrench. Please and suggestions

+Isreal Perez Thanks for checking us out. This video is made for instructional purposes. If you believe the intake variable valve timing solenoid is faulty we would suggest taking the vehicle to a certified mechanic for a diagnosis.

You don’t need to remove the engine covers and the wires with the cabin air filter box and all that whatsoever why are u wasting time doing all that extra work the part is at the front of the engine..
