âWe aim to show you how to grapple, not just jiu jitsu techniques.â đ
Great presentation for learning. The voice-over describing the techniques in motion is *such* a superior method to trying to talk through techniques/concepts in piecemeal; and 90% of the time when done that way, the technique never ends up actually being shown as it's meant to be performed in action.
Thanks for taking the time to make this.
Thank you! I knew I had to innovate if I wanted my channel to go somewhere. I'm glad the format is being so well received. I appreciate the kind words so much. Thank you for watching!
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Not only the voiceover work, but seeing full speed movement in slow motion is super important, because you get to see how things work when there is momentum. Just doing movements slowly oftentimes doesn't work very well for demonstration, because momentum is needed to flow through. Great didactic skills on your channel!
T
why would i learn from someone who abused porn addiction to gain viewers? ill pass.
@@SkreltNL say what now?
Wow everything covered in this video alone could easily take even an experienced grappler months to digest. I especially appreciated the last 30 seconds of etiquette, not enough people touch on this.
Super glad I stumbled across this channel, keep up the great work!
This was a very nice comment to wake up to đ. I really appreciate it man! I've got a lot of great stuff in the works. Thanks for subscribing!
Yeah seriously. 4th week of doing jiu Jitsu and trying to get my closed guard game on point. This is my 5th time watching this video
Really enjoy the format in that it focuses on a specific position (such as closed guard) rather than just a specific technique. And showing both gi and no-gi variations is very helpful too. So glad I found this channel. Thank you Jordan and Nikki!
Glad you found it too. Thank you đ đ
Yeah, very useful (I'm a white belt)! A similar one for side control would be awesome: I cannot understand what I do wrong, both when controlling and when escaping :-)
@@MrGigigigi1984 I will definitely do one :)
One more idea for videos (as a white belt): what grips/hooks (and combos) are most important during guard retention and pass, and their counters. Very few videos on the topic, which is probably not very cool but absolutely life or death during sparring, as you've pointed out in several clips đ
The calm voice & music makes this like a Bob Ross jiu jitsu lesson. Great videos.
Thanks man! đ
Thank you for all your hard work putting out these high quality videos.
Still coming back to your older videos and they are still 100% gold. Stands the test of time! đ
One stripe white belt in Gracie Combatives with military experience in the MAC Program and a former junior college wrestlerâŠIâve learned more about juijitsu in the past 6 months by watching your videos and attending classes 3x a week, than ever before. Thankful for this awesome channelđŠ
Very happy to hear you find my videos useful đ
Love the way you go back and forth between gi and nogi! So helpful! Thanks so so much!
What a great feeling to come back to an old video I watched a while back and see how differently is speaks to me since I've learned more JJ. I'm catching so many details I missed or didn't think mattered at the time đ€
thanks for the slow mo's Jordan! Great stuff
love watching your stuff and im so glad you show variants with no-gi since 90% of my training is that... keep up the awesome work.
Really appreciate these videos and thank you for taking your time to make them. This helps so much as a white belt whoâs constantly make the same mistakes. Youâre the man!
Dude! This is BY FAR one of the best guard opening vids I've ever seen. A++. You fixed things I was already doing lol. Loved it.
Just started my Jiu Jitsu journey and also just found your channel. Love the easy to understand lessons, along with the step by step videos.
The videoquality and editing on all your videos is amazing and deserves more recognition
Fantastic production and a crystal clear depiction of effective techniques. Thank you for taking the time!
Iâm brand new to BJJ and just found your channel. This is some great content. So much info to take in on every post and every short. Definitely a fan thank you for your work
I really like the way this is presented. Short, effective and to the point. Lots of principles and options covered. Nice work.
Love the style of training and instructions you guys provide here! As a new WB Iâm super appreciative of these vids and best believe subscribed!
Great video and thanks for putting in the time to put it together. Wil be referencing this one often to work on the techniques.
Excellent tutorial for someone like myself who is still learning! Thank you!!
Really helpful, thanks for making this. It not only helps me pass the guard but makes me realize what I need to retain the guard if I want to. Much appreciated đ„
Youâve become my go to online coach. Thanks for all the videos.
Lots of great details here. Everyone needs to watch this.
This video is gold by it s simplicity, keep them coming!
Your videos have been an excellent resource for me. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Keep up the good work. đ
I'm definitely going to be coming back to this video a ton. Thanks for this!
Iâm pretty addicted to your videos. Iâm a beginner. Finding a lot of value in these lessons. Thanks!
Great video Jordan, I like the way you demonstrate a technique during your grappling session, I keep learning from your demonstrations. Thank you
Wow I just left a comment on your rolling video, man this is great! Please keep doing this, pure gold!
This is gold for a noob like me.... makes a lot of the options or back up plans much more clear than a single drill and speaking towards the thinking behind it is eye opening
awesome....thankyou for taking the time!!
This is just the right amount of detail and narrated instruction seems to mirror my actual thought process when live rolling much more than 'breaking it down' with step-by-step instruction. As a white belt a couple of years in, I sometimes get overwhelmed by instructional videos yet really need the instruction. I can't believe this is free. Subscribed!
I remember watching this video when it first came out as a white belt and picking up tips and pointers from it. I came back to this vid and it's only reinforced everything I've been learning. Awesome content! Oss
Maybe the best concepts about closed guard that I've ever seen. Thank you, Jordan! Subscribed.
really good video! lots of information put together in a compact way
I don't often watch Jiu Jitsu videos, but when i do, it's Jordan Teaches Jiu Jitsu. Across the board solid content. Glad to see your channel getting sturdy legs under it. I'll be keeping up because if not, it'll be hard to compete with the other players who are.
In 1.40 minute you helped me so much step up my game. your videos are gem. Thank you very much. you re a great coach!!
Just wanted to say THIS video stepped up my guard passing game, thank you!
Thank you very much, this is one of the best BJJ videos I have seen so far (I'm a beginner) - so excited to have discovered your channel :)
These videos are very helpful and must take a lot of work to complete. Thank you so much!
Great stuff! So much info in a so short video! Gold!
Thank you for those videos. Straight to the point. I love them.
Watched this twice now. Learned a few things each time. Looking forward to more :)
Jordan is the best! Wish I could take classes at his place! What an honor
Great job on the video my dude đ
Quality Videos! My wife just started training too, we hang out and watch videos together on Tuesdays before/after training. Glad to find you guys!
Thank you very much for the upload. The most informative and well explained video about breaking close guard in BJJ I found on CZcams so far. Very useful.
Bro. Love your videos. So easy to follow as a newer white belt. I literally watch your content while working on my grappling dummy right before class, to stay fresh before I get in the BJJ shark tank for class.
Awesome lesson. Great video, bro đ
Reaching backâŠand yet Roy Harris is a master at thisâŠNickey is the bomb. You are a very lucky man. I have just discovered you two. Thank you.
Thank you so much for that priceless instruction! I'm a recent amputee and new bjj practitioner. I just competed in my first competition and got stuck in my opponents closed guard. That Sao Paulo escape is going to be so useful for me! Thanks again!
So great all around. My brain remembered a couple tips from your video mid roll last week. It allowed me to escape a submission once and gain my first submission later on. The explanations and slow mo are super helpful. - new guy white belt, 9 or 10 sessions in.
Discovered this channel just a few days ago and I think Iâve almost gone thorough all of them! Doesnât hurt that Nikki is gorgeous tooâŠ! Thanks for the content guys!
Yes it's important to keep it friendly on the mat ! Thanks for the reminder !
Great video! This is immensely helpful. Iâm going to add this to my class notes.
This is solid! Thanks for re-posting it.
No problem! :)
Really enjoyed this style of teaching / editing đ„
Truly excellent instruction. Great angles and descriptions and I love the way you show it over and over but switch from Gi to Nogi and back
Hey Jordan, having started BJJ only a month ago, your Concept>Technique approach to teaching is something that I am glad to have come by so early in my journey. Super appreciative of the work you and Nikki put into these videos.
Only just watched this one now as were currently doin closed guards in class, thanx so much for these vids!
Picked up so many details. Thanks for the video Jordan!
NP. Thanks for watching! Just don't use any of this against me đ
Glad this one popped up in my feed! Passing the closed guard is my least favorite and this videos gives a lot of good options. Looking forward to trying these. đ
Great tips. I really like how you would point out the concept of hip control and tracking.
Like everyone had said, awesome content! I'm about 7 weeks into this journey and have been going 3x's per week no-gi and along with these awesome instructionals I've made some good progress.
Extremely helpful video!
Thank you Jordan and Nikki!đâ€ïž
Thank you for watching đâ€ïž
Thank you. I didn't know how to stand up properly before. The grip is really key đ
Crystal clear and so useful thanks! There is a lot of content but yours does the best job!
Glad you think so! Thank you!
Great video Jordan. I specifically love when you go over techniques in slow motion.
Love learning from your videos! Thanks for the help!
Excellent video, a ton of value, thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for your excellent videos Jordan and this one in particular. Really helpful for a white belt like myself.
You asked in another vid how did people get started in BJJ. I wish Iâd started 20 years ago now but got my kids into MMA 3 years ago post listening to Joe Rogan podcasts on long runs and hearing the benefits for confidence building, discipline etc. The club in Liverpool, UK allows families to train together which makes it very time efficient from a parent perspective as I can train in the same class. Enjoy all of it but really like the grappling more than striking so joined a separate BJJ specific school a few months back when it opened nearby. Really glad I did as although I know some of the basics there are some fundamental gaps too. Your videos are extremely helpful - many thanks! Phil
What a great content pal. Thanks for the helpfull guides !
Subscribed! Like the style you use in these videos.
Congratulations! Awesome work
Ty brother will be using these techniques rolling today!
Great video!
Excellent vid as always! Thank you both for taking the time to make these videos. The time and shared knowledge are truly appreciated!!!
Thank you! We appreciate it!! As long as people keep watching, we'll keep making them đđ
Awesome video! Iâll be watching this more than once thatâs for sure. đđ»
Thanks Mellisa! What topic do you think would benefit you the most next?
Thanks for all the tips đđ»
33 year old white belt here. Iâve been training just over a month and I sincerely appreciate you breaking it down Barney style. đ€đœ đșđž
No problem! So many instructor over complicate BJJ unnecessarily!
Me too!
Great job, very nicely done.
I always liked this concept-based approach JP has.
Nice Video with some smooth transitions! ;) Thanks
Thanks! Great tutorial, Awesome Couple!!
Good job man, much appreciated.
Glad you enjoy the channel đ
Great video! Thanks a lot đ
I love the fundamentals videos. Great job man
Great content! Thank you so much for the video.
Np. Thanks for watching! đ
This format is so good to check before practice, always refreshing the details!! thanks for sharing!!
Thank you! This is one of my favourites I've made. So important to be able to get out of closed guard đ
Beautiful video!!! I can tell it took a lot of hard work to produce this. And yes, grinding elbows into the thighs, can openers, and slams are a sure way to get smashed by the mat enforcer that day.
Really solid video! Again. You guys make great content. Breath of coverage for technical details is insane and super consumable.
Thank you Jesse. That was a really nice comment for me to read đ Really makes the stress (at times), and workload worth it.
Great video Jordan, tahnk you as always, super effective videos!
The closed guard knee in butt was the first technique I learned, and as you stated, it is really hard to actually use in sparring.
Glad to have found this channel. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Daniel đ
u have such a calm voice, love the content
Thanks man đđ
My favorite BJJ tutorials on youtube, top notch content dude!
Great stuff! đđœ
