His riding companion David, has gone to check out the Flinders Ranges so they both have to go it alone from here. Ol Mate Steve gets crook and is forced to park up for a few days till he mends and is strong enough to continue his journey. Life on the road can be unpredictable.

Steve, I hope that you’ve recovered after your bout of Covid. As always, great CZcams content mate. My missus and I constantly look forward to your videos. I got hit from behind by a car while I was on my GS early last year and my injuries have permanently left me unable to sit let alone ride so I now live vicariously though your video adventures. Thanks for what you do.
Cheers, Chris
Hi Chris, sorry to hear about your accident. Life can deal us a shitty hand some times. Next vid out in a few days.
"Tongue kissing". Legend, Steve!
What a way to attract new members!
Another brilliant video Steve I always look forward to them. Thanks for the effort you put into them.
See you on the other side.
Yes…see you on the other side.
BMW riders tongue kissing !!! 😮I knew it all along 🌈 I’m staying on my Vstrom 😂😂
Just kidding I enjoy your vids a lot 👍
VStrom hey...you know they can't run under water. Watch the next vid and that bizarre statement will make more sense.
Look at those autumn colours aren’t they just stunning 😍, glad to see Covid didn’t affect you too much. Stay safe and well.👍🏴
They are!
Another great video Steve. Those posty bikes have a cult following! Aren’t the Autumn colours spectacular…bring on the next vid!🍺🍺
Hi Steve, thanks for the shout out we were the ones that met you in Pinnaroo we are enjoying this series. The lake you visited here this episode looks like an absolutely awesome spot.
Cheers and safe travels and will see you on the other side .
John and Gaye
Hi John, thanks for taking the time to comment. Apologies for not remembering your name (embarrassing). Glad you’re enjoying the journey. Regards.
Thanks again Steve and yes, those autumn colours are magnificent. I did a trip a few years back through Washington State in autmn and it was a kaleidoscope of intense colours. Looking forward to your Dawn Service experience. Love the lucky country.
Steve great Vid but you don't need me to tell you that! Sorry to hear you got the C-vid , you seem to be doing fine in recovery . i so far have not had the displeasure ! Thank you for doing the right thing and isolating !I would like to suggest that you get a small stove , I carry a small alcohol stove for cooking weighs a couple ounces and the fuel can be stored in a 1 liter bottle ,,,great for emergency heating and a coffee and it tucks away in any pocket and wont make everything smell like petrol. keep up the good work!
Have to wait another week for the next video , but that’s okay ;-))
I have some bad news Kiwi...there will be 1 more in a few days but it wont be the end of the story until i return from a 4WD trip to the Flinders. There could be a Vid drought for a couple of months.
☹☹☹
That’s not okay Steve !! haha.
As long as they come mate , no worries!
Thx Steve, always interesting travelling with you. Look forward to the next ep.
More to come!
Back in the '70s and early '80s the highway through Gunning was one of the worst black spots in Australia. There were always bad crashes involving trucks in the news.
It doesn't surprise me...it would be a real choke point. Thanks for watching.
Kind of a national party-crasher tour...
Thanks for sharing your interesting life with us Steve. Even Covid cant slow you down. See you on the other side.
You bet
Another great one Steve. Thanks. Looking forward to the next one.
Glad you enjoyed it
Gunning g to Canberra?,less than 2 hrs. Good to see you in my part of the world, enjoy, it's not winter stay safe.
Thanks, you too!
I find riding and camping alone gains something special also. Enjoying your rides good encouragement for my backyard rides. "Go... Dog..."! lols.
Covid didn’t seem to affect you much. That’s a good thing since you were along way from home. Different to see fall colours while we are just coming into summer here in Canada. Nice to see a rider is welcome to ride no matter what they ride. See you in your next video 🍻
We all enjoy the one passion...motorcycling. Next vid out in a few days.
Another award winner Steve,, so enjoyable I’ve watched it twice,, great scenery all the way
Glad you enjoyed it
Crookwell has an awesome wool sock manufacturing company.
I did not know that…I could use some new socks.
😀
@@mongreldogproductions their wool socks are the best.
The National Art Gallery is always a must for me.😊
Sorry you got sick, Steve. Great video, as usual! Wow, an H2 , haven't seen one of those in a while.
They are a rare breed and have maintained their value. A real collector's item.
Glad we did not get too close to you in the Barossa! Another great video thanks.
I thought I caught it off you…maybe I’m wrong.
😑
No, definitely wrong about that.
Great video Steve ride safe
Thanks, you too!
Another great series of videos Steve.. thank you... So the dreaded COVID got you in the end! Much worse for some of course but just a pain in the arse for most of us .. I had to ride 1000 miles back from southern Germany to the UK for a family emergency with raging COVID..not something I wish to repeat! Love the autumn colours by the way...had you spotted them? 😂
I spend so much time in the Outback where its all red dust and spinifex. It was nice to see some different colours for a change. COVID sucks!
Thanks Steve.
Entertaining as always, mate. 👍🏻
😀👊
Many years ago I sold a Suzuki DR200 to a man who wanted it to go on rallies like this one. I was watching your video closely to see if it was still around.
I've got a DR650 and use it on my 'small trips' (less than 2,000km). I lean more toward the R1200 because of its comfort. I couldn't imagine spending a lot of the time on a 200cc 😀😂
Aah, brew up, thumbs up, feet up - thanks Steve.
No worries
Sorry I have forgotten your Christian name again, but I met a motorcycle rider from Victoria here in Seaton Adelaide near where I live in a petrol station and it was very very Cold, and many many thanks to your videos, I was able to have a Great chat with him, he came over to Adelaide to wish his Dad Happy Birthday, I told him about your program, I am starting to meet motorcycle riders now because of your program, and again I would like to thank you again for all your motorcycle programs. I hope you and All your family are still well. Mick
Hi Mick, thanks for the positive feedback and thanks for watching. Regards. Steve
Get your 15th booster and don’t leave WA EVER !
I've had 6...I remind myself that people my age were dying from it only a couple of years ago.
Congratulations on the positive pregnancy test. 👶👶👶
It’s a boy! 🧒
Are you sponsored by Stagg? 😂
I should be…but I’m not.
😂😂😂
G/day Steve your a bloody legend luv ya work thanks Stig
Hi Stig, nah, I'm just a bloke who likes to travel and share my experiences...but thanks for the positive feedback.
Covid +. That sucks. Happened to me first time late last year 1 day before hip replacement surgery. I had to wait another 2 months. I racked my brains to where and the only thing I could think of was the blood test 4 days before which housed doctors rooms and a busy waiting room.
Quickly got over both thankfully.
Ferry crossings are quite novel and in some ways puts a relaxing twist on the ride. Speaking of novel, reverse parking only in some NSW towns make sense unless you tow a trailer.
Thanks for sharing your adventures again Steve. Very enjoyable.
Ferry crossings...I always find them a novelty. I've always wondered why a bridge has not been considered. I guess there must be reasons for it (other than cost).
Outstanding, thank you 👍
You're welcome.
😀
Enjoying your sojourn Steve. Keep em going mate. I remember going over that ferry crossing and shortly after rode thru a swarm of bees. Had sticky honey all over me , didn’t get stung luckily. Memories, I was on my 1200 GSA, 2018 I think
Hi Bill, thanks for taking the time to comment. Hope you enjoyed your journey down Memory Lane (other than the bees). 😀
I’m a big fan of Gaia, being able to plan on the computer then have it sync to the phone is great. Seeing others routes is also a great feature. Been using the free version for a year, just don’t turn off the phone if you have no connectivity but will be purchasing it shortly as it has proved its worth and then I can have offline maps and turn the phone off.
Living the dream.
and dont i know it...
Really enjoying all the videos from Perth to Canberra. Just saw your latest with your positive Covid test. What a bummer! Just wanted to let you know that it we sat next to each other at the Rally dinner at Nuriootpa and it wasn’t me who shared it with you. Avoiding Covid is kinda my super power. I lived through the worst of it in the UK and managed to always avoid it, which has proven handy. Anyway, great vids and I am planning to get to the Off Centre rally as you suggested. Stay safe and all the best! Lee Robins
Hi Lee, the OCR is in the wrong direction for me this year...I'll be heading to the Kimberley and Gibb River Road. So much to do; so little time.
You're living the dream!
Yes, I am.
Great series so far Steve.... bad luck about the covid..... and having to drive through Can'tberra.
Good adventures mate. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video
Cheers
Thank you! Cheers!
Great vid again Steven i,am not into bikes but i love the parts of Australia that you travel through great job.
Glad you enjoyed it
great stuff ,love your laidback attitude to going places. Surely a wee gas stove or an alcohol stove be an asset. How many days food/water do you normally carry?
I do have a gas stove but I chose to leave it at home for this trip. I should really update it... I've had mine for a hundred years and portable gas stove technology has changed. If I'm going Outback, ill carry 4 days worth of food and 9 litres of water. Thanks for watching.
Most of the Murray crossings by ferry in SA.
The river is pretty wide here so it makes sense.
The border was Victoria
Steve, why the goggles with a full face helmet? Always look forward to your adventures....
To keep the dust outta my eyes...especially on those big group rides (next vid). Plus the goggles are tinted. Sunglasses under a helmet don't work for me that well.
Love your content Steve, I'm inspired to get out there and see some sights on the bike.
Go for it! See you on the other side.
Lovely country. Was there recently on my GSA 👍
👍
Always stay positive they say. 😱😀 Well now you have a few antibodies swimming around Steve.
I’ve been intrigued for a while with your yellow line track- following map. Is that an app?
Stay upright mate. 👍🏻🙏🦘
www.relive.cc/?hl=en Very clever and free to download.
Good to see that bastard bug didn't ruin your trip, note to self : Mum was right, stay away from German motorcycle riders. 😁
😂😂😂...just avoid their Rallys.
Hi again Steve, how do you support yourself, to pay for your time, motorcycle, petrol, food, accommodations, videoing, and the adventures your doing as you go, I hope you are still well. Mick
I’m living off my savings and Superannuation…
Work hard, set yourself a goal, retire early and start enjoying life!
Thanks for watching.
😀
@@mongreldogproductions Thank you Steve, learnt lots from your videos, and your videos take us with wherever you go, thank you again very very much. Mick
Greetings from North Carolina friend enjoying your content.
Thanks and welcome
That Brindabella Track is a great ride.
Yes, it is!
Sorry to hear you got covid. I hope that doesn’t affect you in the long term. Cheers
My wife and I really enjoy your videos and trips, you got me touring on my roadbike and it's the best way to travel. Mate what type of ear plugs are you using just notcied them in one of the shots around your neck, they looked unusual. Do you like them and could you share the brand cheers
They are tailored for me and wired so I can listen to music on the fly. Depending on where you live, you should be able to source some locally. They arent cheap! www.protechearing.com.au/hearing-protection-products-perth/insta-mold-custom-earplugs.html
Great video thanks! I wondered why on earth you were taking your giant bike to the Tiddler Rally!
Cause I didn’t know any better…
😂😂
Another great ride but was was “sinister in the background “? Duh is ok just seen the answer - sorry mate!
The virus eating away at my immune system. 😀
Always Love your content Steve gotta love middle of bumfuck nowhere lol
B*m f*ck nowhere is my favourite place in all of Oz.
😂😂
@@mongreldogproductions followed closely by behind the black stump and back of burke no doubt
If they are tiddlers what would you call my Yamaha YB100 2-stroke? I do have a Bonneville though! Oooh and I see a real toddler postie bike
I think the term ‘tiddler’ applies to anything up to 250cc.
😀
@@mongreldogproductions Hope you are well recovered but it can take a while.
Nice escapade right there Steve. No laying down (although your intro from last time showed one 😁
Well ok apart from Willoghb y's Beach in Deni. Ummm I assume you 'self-medicated/convalesced' somewhere else in Deni?. Which park did you go to?.
Remember I lived in Deni for six years. Loved the place. Way back in pre-historic 60's.
This video was a nice 'side road' to your usual ones, much appreciated.
I really appreciate that you are drawn to the 'something differents' in life.
And yep we really do have some awesome autumn pallettes here; not just the foliages but also the amazing skies and early sunlight rays combing the grasses etc.
Was really good to have a cuppa over nibbles with you in Sawtell (Coffs Harbour). Take care,
Noel
🤠~ ~
Hi Noel, I didn't get crook until Tumut (it happened quite suddenly...1 minute I'm good, next minute crook as a dog) so I self-isolated in Tumut until Negative. I'm glad you continue to enjoy the content. Thanks for your support.
@@mongreldogproductions Steve your content is always good. I like the variety of ways you present life. :)
Go to Crookwell a bit and think about the name. It’s perfect, two opposites in one word. An alternate could be Sickhealthy or does it originate from a lousy in-ground water supply from the old days.
😂😂😂You're a deeper thinker than I am.
Never get sick or Autumn colours
Love the XL250! I used to have one of those in my younger days. Wish I still had it. Pretty sure mine had a different exhaust set up - through the frame and out over the top of the back tyre. Probably mine was the off road version or the one in the video has been modified? Thanks for the adventure Steve - love hearing the exhaust note of the big BMW when you give it a bit of stick. You can almost feel the power and smoothness of this bike just watching it - incredible stuff!
I smile EVERY time I throw my leg over the big girl. It's just a perfect bike for what I do. Thanks for watching.
@@mongreldogproductions Great to hear! Every time I try to throw my leg over the big girl I get kicked out of bed and have to spend the rest of the week in the dog house!
@@dontrump4697 Ah, the dog house. I am very, very familiar with the dog house 😂😂😂.

Nah, I’m heading north to the Kimberley and Gibb River Road at that time of the year. What about you…you goin’?
