Qs138 v3 motor runs hall sensors mate.

yes, they do have hall sensors. I have this same motor (also purchased from electro & co), I do not believe you can get this motor in an encoder version. The "smoothness" comparison described in this video sounds more like what you would experience with square wave vs. sine wave controllers, not hall vs. encoder motors.
